About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

  • Best concert of my life hands down.

by AustieFrostie on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This was my first show at Red Rocks, so I didn't know what to expect going into it. I have been dying to see Atmosphere live ever since I started listening to them. Attracted to God wasn't too good in my opinion. I didn't like the music, and they really didn't put on much of a show. They just came out, played their songs, and left. I feel the opening band is in charge of getting everyone into the event and setting the mood. Eyedea and Abilities started to get the show going though, even though I wasn't fond of their music. Then Murs came out and really blew the place up. Everyone in the crowd finally started getting into the show, jumping around, singing along etc. Everyone went crazy when Slug came out and did a couple songs with Murs. Aesop kept the show moving along well as expected. Then Atmosphere came out and gave one of the best shows I've ever seen, if not THE best. They kept the crowd involved at all times. I really enjoyed the diversity in the music they chose to play, they had a lot of their old stuff which I preferred over the new albums. Out of 5 stars I would have liked to give this show a 10. The venue was amazing, the show was amazing, the crowd was amazing.

  • Fantastic!

by Akeldama on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This event was amazing and I am hoping that all of these artists will be able to come back possibly even together again. It was great how many people showed up. I was pleasantly surprised that so many in Colorado know and love these artists!

  • When Life Gives You Ugly was Incredible!

by bethgunny on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This entire show was amazing! Murs is an unbelievable performer! I didn't expect to see Felt and was so happy they put on a show! Slug & Ant were unforgettable and the best show I've seen of them yet (seen about 5 shows now).

by Dreoner on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Ten years ago I first heard of Atmosphere when I was a freshman in highschool and knew I had heard something special. I'm so proud of all those guys in that stage from eyedea to Aesop. At the time when I first heard them I wished everybody knew them and after lastnite they have finally got the attention they deserved and hopefully affected all those people lastnite like they have affected me when I first heard them ten years ago. Congradulations guys!

  • Atmosphere

by RachGladwin on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I had seen all the acts several times before, but this performance was a culmination of something that has been a long time coming. Maybe I am a little partial to atmosphere because I have been sneaking into venues since I was about 15 to see them. I remember watching blaze battles and being amazed that no one had caught on the wonderous lyrical talents of slug, sage francis aka strange famous and many others. Last night for me was a tear jerker to see these fellows from Minnesota make it bigger than any of their critics would have ever predicted. Their show last night was like watching a bunch of friends get together and make all their dreams come true. I am honored to say that it was the biggest crowd of people that I have ever seen atmosphere with, however it still felt very personal. They gave us new stuff mixed in with old time favorites, it was a treat for new and old fans. I can't really even articulate how amazing the show was last night. This simple review couldn't do the show justice.

  • UNBELIEVABLE!!

by StephanieBCastro on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

If you can imagine, slug was even better in concert!! That was the best show i've ever seen at Red Rocks, or ever! Aesop Rock and Murs rocked the show and made it a night full of awesome surprises especially when Slug and Murs performed as Felt and sang Dirty Girl which was the greatest performance of the night. To top it off Atmosphere finished the night with Sunshine which couldn't have been a better close to a beautiful night in Colorado!

  • Flawless Performance by Slug and Ant

by LoveYouSlug on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I got to the concert in time to see Murs starting his set. It was amazing. He speaks with such passion and played some new and some old to please everyone. Then, Slug and Murs did some Felt songs and it was much better live than on CD. In general, everyone, Murs, Aesop Rock, Slug, Ant - they all absolutely killed it! New stuff that was beyond great.

  • Another great show by Atmosphere

by iaffy on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

I really engoyed the show, every band did great. I just want to see more shows that are 21 and up, tired of these kids that think the can get away with what ever they want. I guess they just don't respect the music like I do, I mean I had fun like I always do but these kids are there to talk and smoke weed and distract everyone from the show.

  • Never Disappoints

    by smoothmc17183 on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Have to say again, MURS, Eyedea & Abilities, Aesop Rock, and of course Atmosphere!! A fun filled evening with many surprises and and one hell of a free style by MURS at the end. Red Rocks is always packed when these fools come to town and seeing Anthony again in the drink line was an added surprise.

  • Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Murs, & Attracted to Gods

by TNoli on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

When I started listening to Atmosphere, Aesop & Murs about a decade ago I never imagined I would get the chance to see the three of them playing to a sold out Red Rock ampitheater. The bands had more energy than I have ever seen them with before! I have seen all three acts more times than I can count but this was hands down the BEST show I have been to. Seeing one of my favorite artists of all time, Aesop, Rob Sonic & DJ Big Whiz play at one of the most beautiful places in the world was absolutely mind blowing...they all rocked. First time seeing Attracted live...and I am buying there cd now, the singer has an amazing voice!

  • amazing show

by backdrifts on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Great show!! went to see my boy Aesop and he killed it but Murs rows above all and took the show and made it if his name was top billed IMO...slug came out during his set and they did a few FLET songs what more can i say not really a big atmosphere fan but they did there thing and had the crowed hyped beautiful night tons of beautiful girls and some of the best hip acts out today .

  • Murs, Atmosphere, Aesop just killed it!!!!

by SnoochToTheMoFoNooch on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Best concert I have ever been to! 9000+ showed up to watch some of the best underground hip hop in the world! From DJ Big Wiz and Abilities putting on a turn table clinic to Slug, Murs, and Aesop thowing down a 15 minute plus freestyle... Just unreal!

Atmosphere, Aesop, Murs, and Eyedea & Abilities!?!?! WHAT!?!?! Ludicrous!!!!! Each performance was mind blowing, everyone came out with their best stuff......and of course Atmosphere and Aesop tore it up on stage!!!!!!! The finale was my favorite part of the show where Atmosphere, Aesop, and Murs all came out for a freestyle session to end off the night.........Best concert ever!!!!!!

  • Auditory Crack

    by JohnB420 on 8/11/09Beaumont Club - Kansas CityRating: 5 out of 5

Met Slug ( the rapper ) and Ant ( the dj ) outside the Beaumont, extremly nice indivdiuals, got pics taken, all that " I just wanted to tell you guys, you guys rock so hard!!! " moments. Show was good outside of the pitchouli oil hippies trying to steal my spot. Good show, good atmosphere... pun intended. Lotta good songs, good back and forth with the crowd, not just the standard " I love coming here, where ever I am..." bs of most bands. Overall good show, good times. Highly recommend!

  • Atmosphere show 7/30

by SadietheLady on 8/10/09Club Firestone - OrlandoRating: 5 out of 5

The show was absolutely amazing. Atmosphere rocked club firestone. They even played longer just for the viewers pleasure. I got to meet the guys that performed and get pictures and autographs. It was one of the best shows I've been to. I would see them every time they come to Florida.
