About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

Atmosphere put on a great show and really got the crowd involved. They didn't play many of their best songs.

  • Well worth the money!

the sound at red rocks is incredible. Not a bad seat in the entire place. Every artist had the crowd hooked from start to finish. Never one dull moment. Can't wait to see em next year!!

  • Pretty Neat

by FlatFootedFloozie on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

For the most part everyone was entertaining. Eyedea of E&A was not very good but DJ abilites was quite so he picked up the slack. Murs was good but his set was quite short, not nearly as many Felt songs as i would have liked, but Murs had surgery and shouldn't have even been preforming, so it was understand able. Aesop rock had a very good set list, the bass wasn't up high enough on the vocals to really do them justice, but they came strong. Atmosphere did a very good job of mixing old and new, live band and just DJ. Overall very fun show.

"Once upon a time in Colorado, uh, I damn near had to steal the show"...smoothly said by Slug, rapping to an entire sea of waving arms and screaming fans, and me being one of them damn near made me faint haha! One of the most memorable concerts in my book. The crowd was phenominal, there was nothing but good, chill vibes and everyone was there to get down with the real get down and have a fantastic time!

  • Amazing set from atmosphere

by tylerschmee on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was so amazing, every performer was so great. slug was so great and played and amazing set with classics like modern mans hustle and trying to find a balance and great new songs like puppets. the last song that they did was a freestyle with asoep, murs, and slug. also during murs set they did dirty girl, which was so great.

  • Another great show!

by Electrixxx on 8/16/09Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre - Santa FeRating: 5 out of 5

Ant and Slug put on another amazing concert. Playing tons of their best songs and getting the croud into it. Eyedea and Abilities were an awesome opener, filling the croud with excitement and pumped for Atmosphere. Overalll this was exactly what I was expecting. All Atmosphere show are absolutely one of the funnest hip hop shows.

  • Atmosphere blew me away!

by Shelbz on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere, Aesop Rock, Murs, Eyedea and Abilities, and Attracted to Gods were all outstanding. Even though Attracted to Gods didnt really fit the other genres. As a big Atmosphere and Murs fan all my expectations were reached, and the show went beyond them as well! It was an amazing experience and I'm so glad I got the chance to see Atmosphere in concert.

  • Aesop Stole the show

    by Vega22 on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

Atmosphere was great, Murs tore it up, but honestly Ace rizzle stole the show flat out.

I am a long time fan of atmosphere. I have been listening to him since the ninties. I am very happy that people are starting to realize how awesome he is but was a little upset about being surrounded by little kids Too many teenagers trying to get drunk and being stupid. I absolutely love Atmosphere so I will go to his show no matter but maybe a 21 and up show could be considered

  • Atmosphere was amazing....

by dreyankee on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

...but murs stole the show. After Attracted to Gods performed, I was a little bit worried as to how the rest of the night would go, but the rest of the acts did not disappoint. Eyedea was good and Ability was mind blowing. Murs put on an amazing set which was topped off by a performance of "Dirty Girl" with Slug as Felt. Aesop was solid and then Atmosphere tied the whole show together with a lot of their old stuff.

  • Tore red rocks up!!

A great concert, they kept it too live. Atmosphere was incredible, murs was great, Aesop is one crazy mfer. But the show was too sick! Def recommend it!

  • aesop took the show

by Kevlarsgnar on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

all around a good show. i missed attracted to gods, they suck on recordings so i didn't care to go. Eyedea and Abilities were just ok. not up to par though. Abilities as a dj just makes sense all around. quite the beat pusher except when he brought the end of the song to a reallly reallly high pitch and ended it. it hurt. Murs is a bad ass and rocked out regardless. aesop is obviously the best of them. he took the freestyle for sure. atmosphere really connected with the crowd. i would say an all together excellent show. i wish it never ended

  • ATMOSPHERE!!!!!!!!!

by sparkette on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

this was one of the best shows i have ever been to up at red rocks. the crowd was great and i loved all the performers. murs and atmosphere doing some Felt was the greatest and the free style at the end of the show was absolutely amazing

  • EPIC

    by Reach4theStars on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Atmosphere about 6 times now, and last night was their most AMAZING show yet! Between his new lyrics, and an unforgetable encore with Murs and Aseop, the surprised never stoped! His arabic/Sitar vibe during Save the Day was unbelievable! I'm praying that this show was record, so I can relive it again!

  • God loves ugly and I love atmosphere

by sambojambo on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere was amazing! It was definately worth the wait to see them perform. I also loved Eyedea & Abilities Aesop Rock and Murs. I didn't feel like attracted to gods fit in with the other bands and they weren't my favorite anyways. All around awesome concert, at an awesome venue, and an awesome 18th birthday!

  • Murs & Aesop killed it!

by NewMenu on 8/15/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

Overall awesome show! Could of done w/o Attracted to Gods and Eyedea and Abilities though, those guys are way too arthouse stylie.

  • Supercalfragalisticexpialidocious

the show was superb. high rewards and always a large cheer from an enthusiastic crowd. atmosphere really knew how to rally the crowd and rock the stage. surprises around every corner with a very impressive ending of freestylin. it was most excellent!
