About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

  • Felt Rules!!!

by Mullethead on 8/18/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Slug and Murs never cease to amaze!! That being said this was by far the best Atmosphere show I've ever seen. I'm a long time fan and out of the six shows of Slugs I've been to... this was the best! I loved the new stuff and always have and will love the old. The Felt 3 preview was a nice little bonus too. Aesop is also an awesome artist and I have been a big fan of his for many years now too. This was the first time i saw him live and he killed it!! His mike was a little loud but the lyrics are always good. Eyedea and Abilities also put on a great show this was my first time seeing them too, been a fan for a while but this was my first chance to see what they got. And they got a lot!! All in all it was a great show and would be stoked to see it happen again soon!!! Coulda used a little more Lucy Ford and Headshots... but beggers cant be choosers

  • Slug, Aesop Rock, Eyedea @ Red Rocks? Priceless!

by srgntpoliteness on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Attracted to Gods was a pleasant surprise. It is a two-piece rock act featuring Nate "The Guitar Man". Eyedea did not bring his A game. He was a little sloppy. Murs was very good. Aesop Rock and Rob Sonic were stellar. Atmosphere had a great show. Red Rocks was sold out and the crowd was ridiculous! Overall....A+!

  • AESOP shoulda headlined!

    by gjlsk8 on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

among the best concerts i have ever been to! Super good line up.

  • Atmosphere is always a pleasure!

by AMBERP on 8/17/09Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre - Santa FeRating: 5 out of 5

I've seen Atmosphere a couple of times and this was by far the best! The show was amazing! I love Atmosphere and I love haow Shawn (Slug) shows appreciation to his fans, because we just love him!

  • awesome to see all of them together

by Mtron on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I didn't know what to expect. I had never been to Red Rocks before. The parking lot was fun. The scene was chill, the vibe was sick. Everyone was friendly. and the venue was hands down the best venue I've ever been to. I've see all of these artists separately but all together was insane. They fed off of eachother, they duo'ed they freestyled. It was the best hip hop show I've been to.

  • Aesop Rocks

by Shteve on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

The performances were all pretty standard, except for eyedea and abilities whose music is constantly evolving, and the group freestyle was a bonus although not unexpected. I was annoyed that eyedea was not involved in this freestyle since he is renowned for his freestyling abilities. Aesop pretty much carried the freestyle. Overall it was a bitching show, and at forty dollars per ticket, a rather good deal considering it costs that to see just atmosphere at larger venues.

  • Atmosphere

by Oshbocker on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 4 out of 5

I really enjoyed both Atmosphere and Murs who I have listened to in the past. The rest of the performers I was less familiar with but enjoyed as well. This was my first time to red rocks and I was blown away by the beauty of the natural scenery. Great show

  • Underground rap, not so underground anymore.

by TheBHB on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

With a crowd like there was at Red Rocks, filling all the way into the top row, all of these artists put on an amazing show. Atmosphere was amazing. Aesop Rock and his buddy can SPIT. Eyedea is plain crazy good, and Attracted to Gods knows how to jam and get the crowd warmed up.

  • Atmosphere in EP

    by SDBIGB on 8/17/09Club 101 - El PasoRating: 5 out of 5

Once again Slug came to EP and was amazing! His set could have been better but when it comes to true hip hop Slug is tough to beat. Attracted to Gods was interesting too. Not a fan of Eyedea's style but Abilities was dope.

  • Must See!

    by BIRDFAN84 on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

The concert started a little after 8pm and it went until about 1am. I enjoyed every minute of it!!! The sound quality was fantastic and even though there was four different artist they each had plenty of time to perform!

  • You'll never see a better hip-hop show!

by Atmosfish on 8/17/09Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre - Santa FeRating: 5 out of 5

The venue was small and intimate. There was interaction between Slug and the audiance the entire show. Everyone was part of this amazing experience. He took time to sign autographs and take picture with every sinle person that wanted to. I would deffinatly see this act again. This show put Atmosphere above TOOL for the top spot of my favorite artists.

  • Atmosphere was the best show ever

    by mzsaltegrl2252 on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere was by far the best show I have seen all year!! Murs threw it down, eyedea and abilities were on fire and I couldnt have asked for a better show!!! This was by far the best lineup I have ever seen in my entire life

  • AMAZING on so many levels...

by Brianne on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Um, great venue? Check. Great music? Check. Great seats? uh huh. I had an amazing time at this show. Slug, Ant and everyone else brought their A game and I couldn't be more thankful. After seeing Rock the Bells the week before, I was terribly disappointed. This show made up for it...and at half the cost.

  • Aesop and Atmosphere

by RudeRuby on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 3 out of 5

Aesop, Atmosphere, and Murs were amazing, but the other two I could have done with out. Lots of young kids at the show, but fun other wise.

  • OFF THE CHAIN!!

by LauraLovesHipHop on 8/17/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

This show was positively outstanding! Not just the headliner Atmospere, but all of the opening acts tore it up as well. The (HUGE) crowd was feelin it, the bands were with us. This show was outstanding! Best show I've seen all summer!

  • Atmosphere; much more than ugly

by gabe666 on 8/17/09Paolo Soleri Amphitheatre - Santa FeRating: 5 out of 5

the concert by it self was indescribable. The venue made it that much more amazing. all in all the concert was an experience that everyone there enjoyed!

  • E&A killed it

by ClayBMC on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

All the artist's did what they do best, enjoyed the show thoroughly.

  • Atmosphere is amazing

by Imtiredoftryingnicknames on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere put on an incredible show at Red Rocks. He has a presence that very few performers have - he appears completely at ease on stage. He presents intelligent hip-hop that is melodic and has remarkable range.

  • Slug is a lyrical genis

by Makaela on 8/16/09Red Rocks Amphitheatre - MorrisonRating: 5 out of 5

I would go to see atmosphere, including the other bands, a thousands times all over again.
