For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

While Atmosphere was, as always, very enjoyable. I was really surprised that the next night in Cincinnati, they played the same exact show. And it wasnt just the setlist, but almost everything. Almost scripted. Which don't get me wrong, they still do it like none other, I just thought they would mix it up a little. Or at least have two scripts for the back 2 back nights that are close.
I have yet to come across some body that leaves an Atmosphere show disappointed. The performance is always spot on, you can't beat the DJ plus the live band, and the crowd is always high excitement and energetic and into every bit of the show. The openers that go on tour with them are also acts you shouldn't miss, especially "Grieves" who was on tour with them this time around. I'm pretty sure the shows always sell out too.
Show was a completely sold out all ages event, and the crowd was shockingly young on average. Didn't think anyone younger than college aged knew who Atmosphere was really... was great to see so much support for REAL HIP HOP. After a great opening set by Blueprint, Slug came out and rocked for nearly 2 hours (without a hypeman... breath control was awe inspiring..). His presence onstage is undeniable. He's roughly 5'10 in the parking lot, but you'd swear he's 8 feet tall onstage... can't fake that. He brought a live band, and the guys can really play. The guitar player especially shined, and Ant's beats are always fresh... they rocked tracks from pretty much every release in their catalog, going even as far back to do "Gods Bathroom Floor" and "If I Was Santa Claus" at an all ages show where those tracks were maybe as old as some of the kids in the crowd. Only MC I've ever seen live with as much natural talent, live charisma and crowd control was the legendary KRS-One... although Brother Ali is close. Don't miss Atmosphere, it's good for the soul!!
This was by far the funnest concert I have ever been too. Blueprint, Greeves, and Budo opened up and killed it. Slug was amazing for his set too. The energy he brings on stage is great and he makes you feel welcome by shaking hands in the line outside. Loved the show Slug, thanks again!
Great energy. Played most songs on my wish list! Huge plus that the vendor was near Founders brewery.
Amazing show dude. The intersection was PERFECT for that type of concert and i really can't stop thinking about it. Thanks yall!
Grieves, Blueprint, and Atmosphere all put on a fantastic show. I got to meet all of them before and after the concert. It was sold out and and out of control. Well worth going
Well, this being my second Atmosphere concert, I must say I was thoroughly entertained. Last time I saw them was Soundset 2009. The band (guitar, turntables, keys & vocals) delivered a mixture of new and old songs.
Amazing show! 2nd time seeing them at The Vogue and surpassed my expectations once again!
I was on the balcony and the show was unforgettable.
I have been a huge fan for years -- they only get better. The best part is that they are so humble and down to earth. Slug comes out before the shows and says hi to his fans before stepping onstage and Ant always comes out and has a drink with his fans -- he even bought one my girl friends a drink -- This makes their shows that much more enjoyable and relevant -- you feel like Slug's having a conversation with you and that they enjoy being there -- Simply unforgettable. Can't wait to see them again in Vegas.
Can you beat the LL and Atmos together? These dudes rocked it out from the new Felt to some old skool Daylife Nightlife from Aesop. Great times.
Seeing Atmosphere after being a fan for over ten years I had high expectations, this show was everything I expected it to be and more. I would definetly go again and recommenend not only Atmosphere but the venue First Avenue in Minneapolis is classic. They played old and new stuff a great combo.
Atmosphere was amazzzzzzing. Slug just killed it .
Slug is amazing all by himself but he was ten times better at First Ave. First Ave is Slugs roots and he was totally vibing with everyone in the crowd considering he was at his hometown in Minneapolis. There is enough room for everyone to bop their head to the beat but its not too crowded where you can't move. I was surrounded by true fans who were just as obsessed with Atmosphere as I was. Most amazing concert I have ever been to. Slug and Ant have such a great connection and they really get the crowd going. Awesome Awesome. A+++
ATG started it off, a little bit slow and not very exciting. They didn't really fit the bill, as they where a hard rock sound, but it was neat to see Atmosphere's guitarist stretching himself out. Next up was Eyedea & Abilities, who where incredible. DJ Abilities equipment wasn't working at first so Micheal had some jokes for everyone. After freaking out most people, the equipment worked and the music was great. Kristoff Krane surprised everyone with two songs and was great too. Then it was Atmospheres' turn, and to no surprise, rocked. Really, freaking great. After about 2 and a half hours of going over his songs, he ended with 15 minutes of freestyling which was even better. The whole thing was one of the best concerts I've attended.
I absolutely loved this show. I wish I could do it all over again. Atmosphere is my all time favorite music group. First Avenue is a great venue to see concerts at. There is no seating so you can get up close and personal with the artist as you do with the fellow fans. When slug started singing his new song "Yesterday" I just about died.
Atmosphere tore it up, down, left and right. I'm not a HUGE Hip Hop fan but they played a consummate set that I easily rank in my top 5 live performances. Seriously, they did everything right, nothing wrong and made it look so easy. I can't wait until they come back. One word - "Money!"
This was /the/ best concert ever! Attracted to Gods started out first and they did an amazing job. :) Eyedea & Abilities was wonderful as well! I will definitely go again!
