About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

Unforgettable I loved it. We had such a good time.

  • Well worth the 12 hour drive

I saw Atmosphere and Eyedea and Abilities in their hometown! Need I say more? I see them every opportunity I get, whenever they come relatively close to Ohio, I'm there. And of course I went to Minneapolis to see them. I'll see Atmosphere for the 3rd time on 4/20/11. I've seen E&A 3 times and I've had the pleasure of meeting and talking to Eyedea, and Ant.. RIP Micheal Larsen!

It was a long show (5 hrs) but it was so worth it!

Atmosphere was phenomenal as always, their minor modifications to their songs during shows continues to make them interesting and fun. However, the openers DJ Abilities and Prof really stole a good portion of the show with amazing performances. It was great to see such great showings from two lesser known (but very talented) artists. Absolutely amazing!

  • Minnesota Nice

The show went great. All of the openers put out a lot of energy and showmanship and Atmosphere themselves took the bar even higher.

Loved atmosphere. So good. Did not enjoy the 2 hours of just dj'ing, not entertaining.

  • Truly Amazing

by Groundunderit on 12/19/10First Ave - MinneapolisRating: 5 out of 5

I got to see atmosphere rock first ave and it was one of if not the greatest concerts ive ever seen. They had 2 very talented opening acts (Grieves and Blueprint) and really played to their audience. But the way i felt was as if they were playing to me. Slug constantly stopped and interacted with the crowd and told us how much he appreciated us coming out. He had the entire audience in the palm of his hand and it made for a really exciting, loud, and incredible atmosphere ( no pun intended). But of course i would truly suggest going and seeing them live because its something you wont regret.

  • Atmosphere is Amazing!!!

  • Great show

I wasn't expecting this show to be good, because I've heard from so many people that hip-hop/rap shows aren't good, and aren't worth going to, but Atmosphere blew me away. Easily one of the greatest shows I've ever been to. It matches up with some other great artists such as AC/DC, Metallica, Van Halen, etc, despite being in a small club. First ave was a great venue for this show, and I would recommend seeing Atmosphere in Minneapolis.
