About

For over two decades, Atmosphere has maintained a course of rigorous output, releasing over two dozen studio albums, EP's and collaborative side projects in as many years. In that time, the venerated duo have built a legacy out of bringing honesty, humility and vulnerability to the forefront of their music, continually challenging themselves to evolve without straying too far from their roots. Slug has proven masterful at storytelling and writing compelling narratives, leaving a trail of his own influence while paying homage to the rappers and songwriters that helped shape him. Ant has skillfully molded the soundtracks with inspiration from soul, funk, rock, reggae, and the wizardry of hip-hop's pioneering DJ's and producers, creating his own trademark sounds while providing the pulse for songs about life, love, stress and setbacks. At its essence, Atmosphere has been a musical shepherd, and with each new album comes a new journey as they guide generations of listeners through this thing called life.

  • Atmosphere is always awesome

    by errkman on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere always puts on a great show. I recommend if you like their style of rap, you see them when they come around. DJ Abilities was great and they utilized him well at this show. Grieves w/ Budo was really the only good show of the other three openers.

  • Atmosphere tears shit up!

    by PeterCrenshaw on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

If you've never seen Atmosphere live, you're missing out big. The show was nasty! The venue was just small enough to let Slug connect with fans. I've been wanting to see Atmosphere for a long time and was happy that he finally came to NYC! Would go see him again for sure.

  • The Family Tour Blew Me Away

    by Anonymous on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I was looking forward to this concert and have seen Atmosphere once before at a big outdoor concert, but this exceeded even my expectations. He put on an absolutely tremendous show, and left it all on the stage. He made it so intimate and personal as well as played a good mix of old and new. I would have gone for atmosphere alone, but I was in love with almost all of the opening acts even though I didn't know much about them prior to the show. Grieves and Budo were fantastic. SAB was fun clubby music. Blueprint seemed a little intense at first but showed some range and grew on me. DJ Abilities was the only weak spot in the opening act, I thought.

  • Rediculous

    by Heycwiss on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

The stage was killed before atmosphere even came out but they took that shit to another level. Everybody was ill, grieves, blueprint. Slug might be the best rapper alive.

  • Atmosphere brings down the house with fan faves!

    by xebby on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Short and sweet: any Atmosphere fan will be beside themselves when they see them. They played throwbacks, new singles, fan favorites, even some of their mixtape stuff! Hearing them play all of these songs with live instruments thanks to their keyboardist Erick Anderson and guitarist Nate Collis was like hearing all your old favorites for the first time. Atmosphere is always great in concert! Slug always manages to bring a good set that combines his old songs with the new ones.

  • Atmosphere

    by HyFeeinNYC on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I was shocked by the pure talent and performance ability of the opening acts alone. Every performer had a chill, good beat vibe and the crowd fed off their energy while getting pumped for Slug. He took a while to come on stage, and at one point I didn't think he'd even show up, but I should have had more faith. From the second he stepped on stage, the crowd (who had been in a stoned mellowed haze) electrified as fans sang every word and Slug made our nights unforgettable. This was by far one of the best concerts I've been to.

  • Out of this world!

    by JaneyJustice on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

I can't even begin to describe how amazing this show was. I was only about 8 ft from the stage and had the perfect view of everything (show up early, it's worth it). People aggressively shoved to try to get up front but I didn't let them through because I deserved my awesome spot and my unobstructed view of the talented DJ Abilities, the charismatic Sab the Artist & friends, the energetic Budo & Grieves, and LAST BUT MOST CERTAINLY NOT LEAST - the guys we all came to see that brought the house down - ATMOSPHERE!!!! They made us jump, wave our hands like we just don't care, and told a story through their set instead of just picking random songs that don't mean anything. The crowd knew all of the words and wasn't shy about singing along. Without a doubt, this was one of the most fun shows I've ever been to.

  • amazing show

  • Respect your fellow homosapiens

    by BoombasticBodegaBouncer on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere never lets me down...Mid performance he asked that the lights be turned off...reminding us that in the dark, it doesn't matter who has the fliest haircut, the nicest shoes...we're all the same in the dark....we're all family. RESPECT.

  • Atmosphere - Worth NYC's time

    by CassieMarie on 4/28/11Terminal 5 - New YorkRating: 5 out of 5

Atmosphere is a classic example of a group dedicated to playing amazing music and sharing it with an audience. This band shows up to perform every time I see them. Slug and Ant know how to get the crowd moving, I wish NYC featured more amazing, underground rap groups like this. If you have the chance to see any Rhymesayer in action, don't pass it up - it will one of the most entertaining shows you've seen in a minute.

Amazing show. Blueprint was better than expected. Atmosphere was perfect could no ask for more. Slug really sells the show. No fan will be disappointed.
