About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

  • AA is for Awesomely Amazing

by Mister9am on 9/16/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

It was a Tuesday night but Asking Alexandria made it feel like a weekend stadium show. HOB is a great venue to be part of the band. The horseshoe design lets you see the performance from anywhere. The sound system was cranked to eleven and the fans were all in.

  • no seats for the weary

by al on 9/15/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

This was a standing room only shows. I was there to see the HU. The other bands were loud, used canned music and the words were inaudible. I did not like them. The HU were ok but again the sound was not good ... too loud. Could not hear the words. I was suffering because I needed to sit down and no seats were available. I will have to think long and hard on returning for a show at the House of Blues.

  • Music was very loud, singing was meh.

by Alex on 9/15/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 3 out of 5

The opening band The Hu was amazing, no complaints there. They were great at singing and the volume of the music was perfect. Asking Alexandria however was meh. The whole time they were on it sounded like a night club but add in the singing that wasn’t entirely great. I have been Breaking Benjamin multiple times and disturbed once. And their music to singing ratio was on point. Not sure if Asking Alexandria had an off night or something but the only band that was really entertaining was The Hu.

  • The HU set was too short

by Actraiser on 9/15/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 1 out of 5

I did the meet and greet with the HU. It was amazing. If management had told me to leave after that, I STILL would have felt I didn't pay enough for the experience. Zero 9:36 was a rip off of Linkn Park. The HU were absolutely sublime, but were done way too soon. I left after the HU exited the stage. The HOB staff were great, and very helpful.

  • Incredible Show

by E. on 9/15/23Citizens House of Blues Boston - BostonRating: 5 out of 5

Asking Alexandria has been one of my favorite bands for years, although I had missed opportunities to see them perform live prior. Needless to say, the announcement for the Psycho Thunder tour was beyond exciting and a must-go! Asking Alexandria put on a fantastic performance, showcasing new songs to the crowd alongside the old and nostalgic. Having been VIP, this includes their acoustic performance as well, which was such a lovely presentation, facilitating engagement with fans and a more personal experience. Their stage performance is phenomenal and unlike any other act or group I have seen prior at the House of Blues Boston. The bands crowd engagement is wonderful — consistently showing the audience their vested interests in bringing their all to each performance. Bringing my mom and brother to this show is evidentiary of how encompassing this bands talent truly is, with the ability to appeal to all ages and individuals from all walks of life who are open to listening, each resonating over the shared love for the group’s art. This was my families first time seeing Asking Alexandria live and we can all agree it was an unforgettable and incredible show, and a group we will always love and support. I can’t wait to see AA live again — thank you for hosting such a fantastic group! This was sincerely the best show I have attended out of the plethora of concerts I have gone to over the years.

  • The Hu was AWESOME!!!

I first learned of The Hu in 2019 on a visit to Mongolia. I've been wanting to see them and was so excited to see they were the headliner. They were awesome! Sound & temperature is always good at 713. I appreciated them handing out free water to people in the front of GA.

  • LOVE IT!

The show was amazing, such a live band as well and the energy was immaculate. There was drinks and other stuff for the people who wanted to drink a little and enjoy it as well. It was an amazing show after all.

  • Not a fan of coheadlining tours!

by LD on 9/6/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 1 out of 5

Love Asking Alexandria so much but I was not able to see them on the Psycho Thunder Tour. Imagine checking set times and thinking you're gonna make it and then arrive to see a completely different band closing out the show. Missed my one opportunity to see them in the U.S. because it was a coheadlining tour and they played second to last instead of last. So disappointing! And unfortunately for me the other artists on the tour did not fit the genres I care for.

  • Loved it!

by Hobbit on 9/6/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the atmosphere of the venue. The energy from the crowd and the band just makes it better. Lighting in the ladies room could be better it was extremely dark in there.

  • I thought they were the headliner :(

by Hellcat Owner on 9/6/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 5 out of 5

I ❤️ Asking Alexandria and they were amazing. According to Live Nation I was purchasing the tickets to see them as the headliner. Then to my surprise they were not - disappointing really.

  • Would be better if bad wolves was there

by Dankwheelies on 9/6/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 2 out of 5

Found out when I got to the concert that bad wolves backed out. Main reason we went. Still a great concert. But would like notice if someone backs out. Still not a bad deal for the summer 4 pack, 4 Ga tickets for $80.

  • Pretty Good

by EW on 9/6/23713 Music Hall - HoustonRating: 4 out of 5

Only found out afterwards that one of the bands was no longer part of the tour, wouldn't have changed our plans but was super confusing during the show.

  • Asking Alexandra, NOMO

by Jagermeistergsd on 5/27/22Main Street Armory - RochesterRating: 5 out of 5

Rochester, NY Main Street Armory is a good 3,000 person event arena. Easy Parking across the street. The only negative is concessions were cash only. It would be helpful to notify event goers of that information. Overall, it was a great experience.

  • Weird Night Featuring Hall & Oates

by Lambo on 5/27/22Main Street Armory - RochesterRating: 3 out of 5

No, Hall & Oates wasn't there, but going by how often they played their songs while the crew was setting up equipment between acts they definitely could have added them as an act. Aside from the fact that it was a week night and the the only reason I even knew there was a concert in Rochester was hearing about it 5 days before on the radio (And a 2 and a half hour drive for us to even get there and then 2 and a half hours back, keep that in mind for later) they also had Eva Under Fire play un-announced as the first gig. They weren't bad, but definitely a weird way to spend 35-45 minutes that no one had signed up for. Atreyu was up next, and to me this is really where the whole evening falls apart. They weren't bad either, and I'm a fan of their stuff, but definitely seemed out of breath. Next up, Nothing More, and I get it, people get sick, and certainly props to the singer for doing the show despite a stomach illness, but I feel it definitely impacted how the show went overall. By the time Asking Alexandria got up it was already 10, and I don't exactly remember what song they opened with, but by that point I just wanted to leave and get some dinner (Because we hadn't had time to eat before arriving at 6) So we left. Honestly, I did want to listen to the rest of their set in case they play Anti-Socialist, Alone in a Room, or The Violence, but by that point of the night it just seemed better to go.

  • It was a great experience. My first concert ever. Fun!!

by Sage on 5/27/22Main Street Armory - RochesterRating: 4 out of 5

I thought the first band set the mood up. I don't remember their name but the singer was quite energetic. Atreyu came next and they were amazing. The way Brandon pulled the crowd was amazing. The vocals were much more audible with them. When Nothing More came around the music got louder and it was harder to pick up the vocals. Asking Alexandria and Nothing More had amazing light shows. I just wished I could hear their voice more than I did. Still a great first experience for me. I'll definitely attend their concert again next time.
