About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

  • Great show - LOVED the Hu

    by Linda1878 on 9/25/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 5 out of 5

I loved the whole line up - Zero 9:36, the Hu, Asking Alexandria. Asking Alexandria was on my list of bands to see and the prior 2 times I purchased tickets to see them, something happened: COVID, Danny Worsnop illness. So was delighted to get the chance to finally see them live. And I really wanted to see the Hu - was in Mongolia in June and would have loved to have seen them there, but they were already touring. Did a meet and greet with them which was super interesting as they highlighted the traditional instruments and the sounds they make without the addition of western instruments/acoustics. Their performance was just electric and so full of energy. Truly a unique experience. Actually i was a wee bit disappointed in AA: Ben Bruce stays way back on stage so you can't see him (shy guy?) and I was so close that I couldn't hear as well, so just noise. It's a shame since Danny W has such a great voice. And I always love to see Zero 9:36 - better and better performance each time I see them.

  • Impressive even to a non 'shouting' fan!

by Worksopian on 9/24/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

I'm relatively new to Asking Alexandria, coming across them thanks to The Hu. Prior to the gig I bought 'Like A House On Fire' and was impressed enough to buy the new album, 'See Whats On The Inside'. Again a lot to like so I was looking forward to seeing them live. With this limited exposure, I was disappointed to quickly find out they are 'shouty' band! However, in spite of this I found there show to be excellent! Danny's personality and stage presence shone through and the band played along with him and seemed to be thoroughly enjoying themselves and the fans too. I'm still not a fan of shouting vocals but Asking Alexandria may be changing my mind!

  • Horrible experience

The sound was god awful & all u could hear was his vocals drowning everything else out. We left after 5 songs.

  • Great venue main band sound was off

by Syd on 9/23/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 3 out of 5

The venue was great. Got in 30 min later than what was on our tickets. Once in the venue the bars upstairs were quick and seating was great on the balcony. Most bands had great sound but the main band lead signer sounded very echo and not very clear. Which was a bummer.

  • Good show, bad venue

by Bunnee on 9/23/23The Fillmore Detroit - DetroitRating: 4 out of 5

I'm not sure what happend to the Fillmore, but the sound quality was total garbage. Space was fine, just couldn't hear the singing hardly at all.

  • The Hu rock

by Tony on 9/22/23TempleLive Cleveland Masonic - ClevelandRating: 4 out of 5

The Hu stole the show, they were fantastic. I also like Asking Alexandria but they were way too loud and it took away from their sound quality. Masonic temple is a good venue, it would be nice if they had more entrances and beverage set ups.

  • Asking Alexandria was great

by Nick on 9/22/23Rating: 4 out of 5

Zero 9:36 and the hu were pretty good but when the hu finished a lot of people left so there was probably like 1000 people when asking Alexandria started. Those people that left missed out because even with the lack of people they still put on a great show and sounded awesome.

  • Bands good, benue sucks

by Humble opinion on 9/22/23TempleLive Cleveland Masonic - ClevelandRating: 3 out of 5

From what I could hear the bands were good but this venue sucks. There was no lighting to see the bands, the first two were nasically in the dark and the sound was very poorly mixed with way to much base and no vocals or guitars! Wth? I’ve heard The Hu before and they were phenomenal but I feel they are a visual band, I mean you want to see them play those instruments. Could barely make out the individuals. Very disappointed. #nottheperformersfault

Asking Alexandria was awesome. The Hu really kicked it!!

  • The Hu and Zero were great. AA not so much.

by Jae on 9/19/231st SUMMIT ARENA at Cambria County War Memorial - JohnstownRating: 1 out of 5

The Hu and Zero did awesome and gave it their all. AA, and mainly Danny, really dropped the ball. Danny skipped whole sections of lyrics, and was out of sync with the band. I've been an AA fan for 14 years, and never got to see them in person until this concert, and I wish I hadn't gone. It's depressing to see a band you like show no interest in their profession. Danny, you've fallen off. If you don't want to perform for your fans anymore, then simply don't. I won't ever be coming to one of your shows again.

  • Where was everyone?

by Pauly on 9/19/231st SUMMIT ARENA at Cambria County War Memorial - JohnstownRating: 4 out of 5

First of all a terrible turnout. Couldn’t have been much more than 1K people there. The venue is a small hockey rink so as imagined the sound was not good. Could barely hear Zero 9:30’s vocals and had some technical difficulties on the first song on his set. Otherwise not bad. The Hu were very good with their sound a step up. Vocals didn’t mean too much since I don’t understand Mongolian! I think Asking Alexandria were disappointed in the crowd also. I mean they didn’t even play their newest song Psycho! 7 out of 10

  • Asking Alexandria was too loud

by KP on 9/19/231st SUMMIT ARENA at Cambria County War Memorial - JohnstownRating: 3 out of 5

The Hu were a lot of fun. I was disappointed the Bad Wolves cancelled out. Asking Alexandria were painfully loud.

  • An amazing time!

  • Asking Alexandria

by MamaBear89 on 9/18/23Harrisburg Midtown Arts Center (HMAC) Capitol Room - HarrisburgRating: 5 out of 5

This was my son's first concert he wanted to attend and it was amazing. Although we didn't stay the entire time because he got too tired. It was an amazing binding time for us over his music. I wish we could've gotten him to where he could see and he's under 5' and everyone around us was tall.

  • Asking Alexandria - Meh, The Hu - Yeah!

by ConcertGuy on 9/18/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 3 out of 5

First, let's start by saying no one at the venue seemed to know that Asking Alexandria was going on before The Hu. Not sure where to announcement was made, but it wasn't communicated well. Asking Alexandria had a very basic, boring set design. They had good energy, but the vocals sounded awful. I actually thought it was the opening band covering an AA song at first, my friend didn't realize it was them until their set was almost over. The venue was maybe 1/4 full when they played and a good chunk of them (including myself) spent most of their set in the lobby at the bar (they still sounded bad). I'd give them 1/5 stars. First time seeing them live, really disappointed. The Hu were absolutely amazing. High energy, great sound, great music, great vocals. Despite the language barrier, the crowd was 100% into the show. I'd give them a 5/5, one of the best rock performances I've seen. First time seeing them, won't hesitate to see them again. Between the two bands (I didn't get to see Zero 369), I'd give the show a 2.5/5, rounded up for the rating.

  • The HU

by Bob G on 9/16/23The Wind Creek Event Center - BethlehemRating: 3 out of 5

My wife and I attended this concert to see The HU. I had never heard of Asking Alexandria before, and they really aren't my kind of band. The HU was great! Definitely a five star experience, but Asking Alexandria brought my rating down a bit.
