About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

This show was so great! The Amity Affliction was great, I See Stars was fanfrickintastic, as was MIW. Not a big Trivium fan, but they were pretty good. AA was crazy awesome! Met some new friends and met Ghost from MIW. Impossibly fantastic night overall!!

Bands were awesome. Next time I may purchase VIP tickets for a 5 hour concert. Lots of standing looking over someone's shoulder. Seats not available.

  • Diru dropped out and I wasn't told

    by Siri14 on 3/27/12The National - RichmondRating: 2 out of 5

I wasn't warned when I bought the ticket that Dir En Grey was not going to be at the event due to Kyo's throat issues. This warning would have been nice, as the only reason I bought a ticket was to see Diru.

  • Asking Alexandria NEVER Disappoints

    by Guitargrl9292 on 3/27/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was beyond amazing....I see stars was amazing and i will see them again. Motionless in White was mind bottling and a must see band to understand. Trivium was good as always....Asking Alexandria really brought the night to an end. If you didn't go you seriously missed out. Not to mention The NorVa staff was on point as always :) I was beyond happy with this show

  • Unbelievable

    by prescott1793 on 3/27/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

The whole concert was great. All of the bands were incredible. Would definitely go again.

  • Trivium was sick, Asking Alexandria not so much.

    by Jordan891 on 3/27/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Highlights of the show were I See Stars and Trivium. Trivium always puts on an epic show. Asking Alexandria was less impressive and frankly I wouldn't see them again.

  • MIW & AA

by Anonymous on 3/27/12The National - RichmondRating: 4 out of 5

Motionless In White was by far the best performance. next to Asking Alexandria of course. Trivium played EXTREMELY too long and was the most boring performance. I'm not entirely sure why they are even touring with AA. Not even the same genre. Felt like they played twice as long as Asking Alexandria. AA had a great show though, great screams and decent clean vocals. plenty of Danny Worsnop antics as well. I See Stars was disappointing as well. I expected much more from them. They did however have great stage presence.

  • AA for the win

    by Almosteasy52 on 3/27/12The National - RichmondRating: 5 out of 5

Unbelievable show! The whole concert was amazing and AA did a great job. Got to meet them and they are some great guys to chill with.

  • Down and Dirty Modern Metal!!!

by Anonymous on 3/26/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

This show was great from start to finish. Each act in order was progressively more polished and showed the experience at thier craft. AA has something that experience can not teach, they have something you have to get out of bed with in the morning... they have presence. You can tell when it is just natural, when someone is just born a Rock Star... these guys are the real deal!

  • Ben Bruce <3

  • Asking Alexandria and motionless in white were sic

by AfuckingAfan on 3/26/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

Over all I thought the show was pretty good. I missed the first band but got there in time for I see stars. They were okay, a little soft for my tastes but still listenable. Motionless in white went on next and all I can say about them is that they were sick as hell! IMO they should have co headlined with asking. I would see them on their own tour alone. Trivium was next and, though I like some of their music, I felt their performance was lacking, sounded pretty good just not that entertaining. Asking Alexandria was last and was just plain amazing. Only complaint I have is that their set seemed short, but they were very entertaining and sounded amazing.

  • Asking Alexandria was absolutely awesome!

Sold out venue speaks for itself right there! Perhaps the best concert ever and we've been to a few AA concerts! Most memorable experience.
