About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

  • AA okay for an opening band...

by naturallymorbid on 1/7/12Jacksonville Arena - JacksonvilleRating: 1 out of 5

Saw them on the Buried Alive Tour with BVB, HU, and A7X. Listened to them on youtube before the concert and was excited to see if they held up to their CD quality. Yes and no. The songs, good. I enjoyed hearing them live and it was nice to know that what I had previewed online was what I was able to enjoy in person. The front man's antics, not so much. In fact, I was fairly disgusted with just him. Not only did he fail to gain the crowd's respect, he was unable to pull off a successful Wall of Death, and was pretty much unintelligible between songs, save for loads of profanity. Now, I don't mind profanity, as I prefer my music raw and unedited, but there is such a thing as swearing enough that it loses all meaning and the front man reached that point between songs. I was also pretty disgusted with how much he spit on the stage. In this day and age, where there are so many viruses floating around like H1N1 and such, there is no excuse for the amount of spitting that man did in such a short period of time. I can understand drinking water and spraying it out, as I've seen that at shows. But just spitting, pretty much anywhere? Not so much. As for the rest of the band, loved watching them spin, jump, and what have you all around the stage. Spent more of my time watching the guitarists than I did the front man. Would not see them as a headliner, but for an opening band they were okay.

  • not the best band out there

i seen them on the buried alive tour. they came on after black veil brides who were horrible and they turned the crowds mood around ..i had heard some of there stuff ahead of time cause there actually one of my husbands top bands they didnt judge us and are venue like bvb did ( they came on a tuesday night to a college town during finals week) they got the crowd to do a wall of death and played a decent set . if they were headlineing i wouldnt go but for a opening band on a tour they do pretty good

  • Asking Alexandria Blew My Mind Away!!

    by deeznuts23 on 11/2/11The Wiltern - Los AngelesRating: 5 out of 5

This is the second time that I saw Asking Alexandria. The first time was at Warped Tour and they killed it even though they only got to play for 30 minutes. Now seeing them headline was beyond amazing. You could hear Danny clearly they played a good amount of songs from the new album as well as playing songs from Stand Up and Scream. Ben is a great guitar player for his young age and they just really know how to put on a live show. The whole crowed was into it because they just know how to make you have fun. Anyone who likes or loves Asking Alexandria should go see them right away. I had such an amazing time dancing and head banging the whole night. They really get the crowd involved which makes it so much more fun. Go see Asking Alexandria

Amazing like always! I've seen them 3 times in less than a year and would still see them again.

  • Great, but...

by JuliaxGoolia on 4/22/11Chameleon Club - LancasterRating: 4 out of 5

The show was great! Asking Alexandria and Chiodos were definitely my favorite part of the concert as a whole. Asking Alexandria, even though they aren't my favorite band, I felt like they had the best stage presence. They got EVERYONE in the crowd into it. They're an amazing band live. I suggest you see them live if you haven't. They were great. The only thing I didn't really like was the venue. It was so small and hard to get around. It was really crowded too and the opening band was way too loud. Other than that, the show was amazing :)

  • These guys know how to put on a show

by WinterNightPhantom on 4/20/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 5 out of 5

Asking Alexandria was amazing at Northern Lights! It might have been because it was their last stop on their Reckless & Relentless CD release tour, but they blew me away. They played a lot of songs from their new album, had high energy and showed real appreciation for their fans. I've seen them live before and I'm definitely gonna see them again. These guys are rock gods. I strongly recommend!

  • Asking Alexandria

by Alansleep on 4/20/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 4 out of 5

Asking Alexandria, a post hardcore metal band with metalcore influences recently finished up there Reckless and Relentless tour in support of there new album that came out just a few weeks ago. Asking A played a flawless show that kept you moving, kept you thinking and kept you fully immersed in the music. They encouraged the the crowed to stay active weather they wanted you in a pit or simply jumping up and down. The support bands they chose enhanced the show greatly; each hold there own interesting style of metal including a punk band as the very first band that played.

  • Emmure alll day

Asking Alexandria was terrible but that was expected. Emmure and Miss May I both played great and their pits were sick as well!

Asking Alexandria was great. The other bands were all good too. I would definitely recommend this show. Also, Northern Lights is a great place for a show.

  • Emmure doesnt fuck around

by tankeredi on 4/19/11Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 5 out of 5

the venue is cool, the bands were unbeleviable except chiodos, they totally sold out, but emmure and asking alexandra were incredible the mosh pit was worth the 4 hour drive

I favored Asking Alexandria and Chiodos the most! They both kicked ass!!!

  • Meh...

by HaydenSC on 3/31/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - PomonaRating: 3 out of 5

It was alright, Emmure and Chiodos took the show. I mostly went for Miss May I and was very disappointed not only by their poor musical performance but the unbalanced sound and many technical difficulties didn't make it any better. If it wasn't for me getting the wristband to go in the lower area closer to the stage, I would have thought of this event as a waste of money. Other than that the show was average and have seen many better performances at that venue.

  • Awesome!

    by TAB22 on 3/29/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - PomonaRating: 4 out of 5

Asking Alexandria was awesome as I expected they would be. The only disappointments were the singer can't sing in tune in concert like he does on the CD and they played a very short amount of time for the featured ban (less than 1 hour). They played almost every song I was hoping they would though. I would definitely go see them again. All the warm up acts impressed me with the exception of Emmura, the band just before Asking Alexandria. They are good musicians, especially their drummer, and they played well together but every song sounded EXACTLY the same. They were extremely boring and I couldn't wait for them to get off stage. Miss May I was probably the best of the 5 warm up bands.

  • Incredibly Explosive!

by LeoLeader on 3/28/11The Fox Theater - Pomona - PomonaRating: 4 out of 5

The first time I saw the band was at a My Children My Bride show at the Chain in Anaheim, the crowd was small, when they started I was like "alright, who are these English scene kids?" Some of them seemed pretty young and scrawny, trendy and all tatted up. After the first few moments and as soon as the breakdown hit, they were like,"get on our knees... ohh!!!" I was like ohh...... sick!!! This band has got the hardcore blood in them and the singing was not too adolescent and annoying, it actually flowed well and added to their unique style. At the Fox Theatre, what a transformation! They were like Metal/Rock Gods, with all the lights and quality of the sound system, headlining after Emmure which is a super tough challenge, they prevailed, kept everyone pumped up and I was surprised that so many people stayed till the end and was shocked to see how many fans they have now! A great performance and definately a lightly a good vibe in the hardcore metal genre...
