About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

    by hfordno1 on 5/11/12Northern Lights - Clifton ParkRating: 4 out of 5

This will be a short review. Bottom line, no offense to the fans of the other bands, but Trivium was by far the best band there and should have been the headliners.

This show was long but fantastic. Very loud. But my 18 year old daughter and I enjoyed every minute of it. We were there for 9 hours. Everyone sounded great.

  • AA was great!!(for the 4 songs they did)

by Jakeistaken on 4/8/12The Sound Academy - TorontoRating: 4 out of 5

They had 4 opening bands ( The Amity Affliction, Motionless in White, I See Stars and Trivium. Each opener played for 45 minutes to an hour, all the openers were great. Trivium's setup was significantly louder than the rest and their singer seemed to think we were all there to see them because he would say stuff like "thanks for coming to our show" or "who has ever been to one of our shows before?" Once aa got on it had been 3:30-4:00 hours and they only played 4 songs which was quite dissapointing but overall they were great!!

  • Better than expected

    by Kristine19 on 4/5/12Headliners - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

I had heard that AA wasn't very good live, but they put on a fantastic show, a really long set. Danny did this thing where he raised up his arms to get the audience to yell, and then he'd stop us really quick, and that was kind of funny. They did the best wall of death I'd even been in, and made sure the circle pits were pretty much constant. Motionless in White was great, too. I had a great time.

  • Asking Alexandria-The Best!,

by Kahlie on 4/5/12Headliners - ToledoRating: 5 out of 5

Okay, first of all I was nervous because Toledo isn't the best town, but it was amazing. They truly took precautions to keep people safe from crowd surfers. But the venue was cool, the bands were AMAZING! Asking Alexandria was the best, but Motionless in White captured my interest very quickly, as did I See Stars, Trivium, and I will be looking up The Further I Fall and The Amity Affliction. Danny Worsnop's screams were amazing, and his vocals were great too! I will be seeing them again soon(:

Well, the venue was amazing. It had a lot of space for the crowd it drew in, and space on the side by the bar and towards the back for people do not want to get involved in moshing and stuff. The bar was great, drinks were a bit pricey as well as food but the service was great. Also had a really good area for the merch tables. Wish there wasn't a bar up, but it's understandable as there were many crowd surfers. Security was awesome as well. Not to mention the band kicked ass. Amity Affliction, and Trivium literally blew my mind. Amity is one of my favourite bands and they always pull up with amazing shows. I See Stars and Motionless in White both performed really well as well, a really amazing energy. Asking Alexandria was great, they had smoke and crazy lights. Basically, a phenomenal show overall. Great venue, great bands!

At first, I was nervous to go to a concert with such different bands playing. Well, my thoughts we right. It was one of the most ridiculous lineups I have ever been too. The Amity affliction was good, very surprised by them. but when motionless in white came on, I was horrified. their stage presence was disgusting. their music wasn't bad, but them themselves were horrible. then and I see stars came on, I was terribly disappointed. their keyboardist didn't even play, he screamed, and the drummer played along with a techno track. completely horrible and misleading. Trivium was beyond amazing as always. can't complain about them. I didn't even waste my time with asking Alexandria. one of the worst concerts I have ever been too. I'm a HUGE Trivium fan, but if they ever come around with bands like this again, I will not be going!

  • Amazing Show!!

  • Freaking Amazing.

by AskingBlaize on 3/30/12The Norva - NorfolkRating: 5 out of 5

This is seriously the best concert i have ever been too! I waited for months and was hyped up and just couldn't wait. This was not a let down in any way shape or form. Its better than i thought it was gonna be! All the bands were great! I see stars had a wild crowd and a great two front men! Motionless in white brought the house down. They were 100% just amazing! As for Asking Alexandria....... I'm surprised The Norva didn't fall to shambles. Just a perfect way to end a night. they were phenomenal It will be something i will always remember. I hope they all come back.!
