About

For English metalcore act Asking Alexandria, years of extensive touring paid off in 2013 when their third album From Death to Destiny debuted at No. 5 on The Billboard 200. Tapped by Korn as a supporting act on their 2013 tour, Asking Alexandria quickly earned a reputation for their amped up live show, resulting in a series of headlining concerts with Sevendust, All That Remains, and others. The band's touring success in 2013 continued an already-successful run on the road – in 2012, fans clamored for tickets for their sold-out club dates in North America and the U.K., which drew praise for their mosh pit-inducing energy. Asking Alexandria's roots go back to 2003, when guitarist Ben Bruce helmed the group's first incarnation in Dubai. In 2008, Bruce returned home to England and formed an entirely new group, while retaining the Asking Alexandria name. After signing with indie label Sumerian, the band released its debut album Stand Up and Scream in 2009, and followed it up in 2011 with Reckless & Relentless, which peaked at No. 9 on The Billboard 200. Asking Alexandria's current lineup includes Bruce, vocalist Danny Worsnop, guitarist Cameron Liddell, bassist Sam Bettley, and drummer James Casells.

    great mashup

by SceneCute on 3/21/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

the whole concert was great because they had some of the best bands playing there, i mean the line up great but i didn't like that it was at the palladium. I've been there before and i knew it was small, and when your letting over 4 thousand people into a space that little it won't be pleasant. i was happy to know they managed to open it all up to accommodate everyone but they kept blocking certain entrances off because of fire marshals. and i know it made a whole lot of people mad since they couldn't easily go see every band they wanted to unless they had passes. also one band didn't even play. they were replaced by some all instrumental group. all the waiting and everything made it a boring concert, but the bands that all preform made it worth while.

I was really excited about seeing a ton of bands play, because the set list was absolutely amazing.. Unfortunately the fire marshals came in, and basically screwed everything up for me! I missed some of my favorite bands play because of the delay and the line, and I didn't even have time to go buy merch. Over all I was disappointed. Maybe next year...

Overall it was a good festival. The one thing i think the person in charge should have changed. Was, he should have found out which bands were more popular, and put them on the main stage..like "The Faceless" should have not been on the main stage. I didnt even get to see Abandon all ships cause they werent letting anymore people into the small room due to overcrowding. By figuring out which bands had more fans, the festival would have gone alot more smoother.

Amazing!!! I drove from Houston for this show. The venue seemed a bit small considering the amount of people there but overall it was awesome.

    Great bands, however, it oversold.

by Rawness2Dmax on 3/21/11The Palladium Ballroom - Dallas

The bands performed amazingly and this seemed like a night to remember for the rest of my life; however, that was for the first 5 hours. The Palladium Ballroom was a good size, but it was overcrowded to the point that stages had to be closed and people were turned away. I left at 5pm after missing Abandon All Ships, knowing that there was probably a 0% chance of seeing Of Mice & Men or ISMFOF.

People seemed to have a different mindset than I did because I thought South By So What was completely amazing! I would relive it everyday if it was possible!

    Asking Alexandria 4 the win.

by bgloeggler on 3/16/11Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

This was probably the second best concert i have ever been to. The best was about 4 months ago which was August burns red and BMTH also in starlands. Every band that played was great except for the first band who was just ok. I was in the middle for only the first 2 bands and then had to get out because of problems with my foot. The show was great and except for a few technical problems with the mics, it was virtually flawless. If AA ever plays again in nj I'm going no questions asked.

    Intoxication

by StandingandScreaming on 3/14/11Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Well, minus Miss May I, the opening acts were awful! Just complete garbage. I'm a huge fan of Asking Alexandria (my second favorite band touring and making music behind Parkway Drive who I saw last week). I was excited for the show and ultimately let down a bit. The band sounded great. Danny did not. He was clearly drunk, told the crowd he had gotten wasted and passed out right before hitting the stage. He spoke through the parts of the songs he was supposed to sing or just held the mic to the crowd. His screaming sounded good. Aside from that, he was disappointing. The band sounded great though and they played some new songs that sounded pretty sweet. If you want to see a good metal band, go see Parkway Drive. Asking Alexandria will never make it big because he's got a drinking problem. First time I saw them Danny told the crowd he was sober for 2 weeks and they sounded damn good.

    ah-mayzing!

by Frankiiiiii on 3/13/11Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

The show was great! Each of the bands were excellent. Love the attitude of all the guys too, none of them were cocky at all, treating us like worshippers. Hated how kid's mommys and daddys had to be there though.

    Sickkk show

    by Ally1122 on 3/13/11Starland Ballroom - Sayreville

Awesome show. Didn't get there early enough to see lower than atlantis. Evergreen terrace was awesome. If your not a fan of the new singer for Chiodos then you wont enjoy them i didn't. Miss may i was sick there set had the best crowd surfing for the whole night. Emmure was great as well. Asking alexandria of course were insane! They did a wall of death and there energy on stage was awesome. I'm pretty sure Danny was actually sober cause they were much better then everyone told me they were going to be. They played a few new songs as well as there most popular ones. Bottom line insane show!

The venue was pretty spacious, bigger than some of the ones I have been to in NY. The sound and performances were perfect. Kicked some good Jersey ass in the pit. Perfect night. <333
