About

It’s no wonder that “The Woman You Love,” the first single from American R&B singer Ashanti’s 2014 album BraveHeart, begins with Busta Rhymes calling out, “Ashanti! We miss you baby!” – in the five years since her last release, anticipation for the star's much-awaited return has reached fever pitch. At her 2013 live concerts, Ashanti demonstrated why she remains one of the top-selling female R&B artists of all time, wowing ticket buyers with her energy and friendly personality. Her soft, sweet voice has long been a favorite among R&B lovers for its subtlety and smoothness, and her new material is no exception – 2013's "I Got It," featuring Rick Ross, showcases more stellar vocals from the star.

Ashanti's vocal prowess first caught the attention of Murder Inc's Irv Gotti in the early 2000's, resulting in her appearance on Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's "Always On Time" in 2002. The success of those singles paved the way for her self-titled 2002 debut album, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned her a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B album. Her next three albums would all land in the Top 10, spawning hit singles like "Rock wit U (Awww Baby)" and firmly establishing her as one of R&B's biggest stars. Her fifth studio album BraveHeart was five years in the making, and if preview singles "Never Should Have" and "I Got It" are any indication, the album and accompanying tour were well worth the wait.

by Michael D on 4/20/24Amica Mutual Pavilion - Providence

so after thinking about this concert & show in general oh my god so this was concert number 3 of my 2024 concert season it was the 3rd show for R&B concerts of many R&B shows coming up & before I start with the show the parking could have been better priced & when you have a concert for the next one in June which I am going to & for the future volumes please have merch for the other acts not just the headliner on the bill I know the other acts & performers would love to have there merch in the merch booths so people can pick & choose I was looking forward buying a 112 shirt but they only had Ashanti merch which is good but the other acts could have had merch like Llyod,Next, Ginuwine & 112 so they could have more options for the show my seat was amazing I haven't had so much fun & blast going to a show I haven't been to this place since it was the dunkin donuts & providence civic center oh the memories it was my first time in rhode island in like 10 to 12 years the venue is amazing oh my god its a cross between the fleet center aka Boston garden aka td garden meets Worcester centrum aka DCU Center meets tsongas area in Lowell I am definitely going back in June like I said I love how you have the option for tickets on the phone or actual paper tickets the crowd was really into the performers the opening act was Llyod he was okay it was so dark you could not see him he was good at parts but mainly chatted with his fans which is nice & all but I wanted to see if he could perform he was okay glad he's off my bucket next up was the 90's r&b group Next I was looking forward to them but my god they were one of the highlights of the concerts for only having 2 or 3 members left they performed most of there song in acapella I felt like I was at church but wow they guys were amazing I only knew 2 songs wifey & too close there big hit from the 90's I would definitely see them again & the girls were going nuts singing back to them the girls I was next to were so pleasant & nice & friendly next up was Ginuwine again like Lloyd you could not tell that he was on until first or 2nd song he looks good for his age & once he found his flow he was amazing in concert singing in those jeans, differences & other songs & he got amazing stage presence so he was singing pony his big hit & I got this on my phone he got off the stage with his entourage singing pony in the crowd & he was walking over to where I was seated singing pony these I am guessing 5 to 6 girls were running like they saw a boy band chasing him it was awesome & insane then came the reason why I came to the show 112 haven't seen them since 2013 so it's been awhile these guys the remaining members of the band oh my god performed like they were the headliners they even played the ill be missing you song about biggie all of the crowd & fans singing it back to them they played dance with me, cupid,it's over now which I got amazing videos of & all of there hits I think they played. for 35 minutes which was awesome they singing in acapella at times these guys still have it for there age I felt like they stool the show should have been the headliners then it was time for the headliner Ashanti wow she is quite a performer very pretty & cute she got into the crowd going every group & singers got about 30 to 35 minutes it was like watching movie trailers of what there shows would be like if they were heading it was like a mass metal fest, ozzfest, mayhem fest, sounds of the underground & music as weapon & uproar fest but for R&B music she was good she played her hits she has a amazing stage presence she was having a blast on stage & I would see her again I will check her out I am seeing volume 2 Ladies Love R&B show 3 days after my birthday on June 21st with Dru Hill reason why I am going with Headliner Monica,Mya,Joe & Case joining Dru Hill I can't wait to write about volume 2 because this could be a awesome show for R&B music to see these legends of r&b & who they could have & I could knock off a lot of groups & singers off my bucket list if they continue this for years & years to come plus the tickets prices are so cheap I would definitely go to all of them plus these people don't tour as much as they used to so it makes it feel even special this show is definitely a show & the next volumes I will be talking about for years & years to come it will be something to look forward to for the future of r&b & you see them in concert if there good you see them again if they suck or not good at least you said you saw them in concert but yes this show was amazing can't wait to go to the other volume definitely one of the highlights of 2024 concert season for sure I hope you enjoy my review :] still on cloud 9 from this show

    Definitely an experience, Loved it!!!!

by Chinkyty on 4/4/24Barclays Center - Brooklyn

My seats were bomb. The atmosphere was amped. My section was pumped up. We were lit. Ashanti did her thing as did everyone else. I love everyone that performed and have been following their careers since I was a little girl. And to experience this was totally amazing. I can't wait until May 11th to see Mary J. Blige and everyone else. ABSOLUTELY LOVED THE R&B EXPERIENCE

by CJ on 4/2/24Barclays Center - Brooklyn

Getting-in was efficient and effective despite the large crowd. All staff that I encountered were very nice and helpful. Choices at concession stands were plentiful. Rest rooms were clean. Show was good! No complaints.

    Left me unfulfilled….. very “meh”

by MFBrenda on 4/2/24Barclays Center - Brooklyn

I had the opportunity to attend the much-anticipated Ashanti concert at the Barclays. As a long-time fan of her music, I was eagerly looking forward to a night of electrifying performances and unforgettable moments. However, what transpired left me feeling underwhelmed and unfulfilled. The evening started with promising energy as the crowd buzzed with excitement, eagerly waiting to see her perform however I thought her performance was lackluster. While she certainly preformed her hits, there was a notable absence of passion it almost felt as though she was just going through the motions, rather than genuinely connecting with us. While attending her concert was a memorable experience, it fell short of expectations and left me feeling unfulfilled and wishing for more.

    Ashanti was Wonderful!

by Gladys on 4/2/24Barclays Center - Brooklyn

The R&B Experience featuring Ashanti was a good time and a good show! She sings and involves the audience. She even takes a moment to thank everyone and show how grateful she is. Her singing was great! Dancers and surprise guests were excellent. I was only disappointed that she ran out of time and didn’t perform “Body On Me” but that wasn’t in her control. Overall all was wonderful. I love Ashanti. This was my first opportunity to see her. Thank you.

The entire show was a great experience. There was many surprise guest in appearance. The group "NEXT"bought out groups Zhane, Coffee Brown, Naughty by Nature. Ashanti bought out Fat Joe, JaRule. The group "112"was also great and they bought out Fat Man Sccop (not fat anymore). And OMG , the singer Genuine was beautiful and performed extremely good. Tamar Braxton was also good. I may have left out some people, for that I apologize. THE SHOW WAS GREAT!!!!!!
