About

It’s no wonder that “The Woman You Love,” the first single from American R&B singer Ashanti’s 2014 album BraveHeart, begins with Busta Rhymes calling out, “Ashanti! We miss you baby!” – in the five years since her last release, anticipation for the star's much-awaited return has reached fever pitch. At her 2013 live concerts, Ashanti demonstrated why she remains one of the top-selling female R&B artists of all time, wowing ticket buyers with her energy and friendly personality. Her soft, sweet voice has long been a favorite among R&B lovers for its subtlety and smoothness, and her new material is no exception – 2013's "I Got It," featuring Rick Ross, showcases more stellar vocals from the star.

Ashanti's vocal prowess first caught the attention of Murder Inc's Irv Gotti in the early 2000's, resulting in her appearance on Fat Joe's "What's Luv?" and Ja Rule's "Always On Time" in 2002. The success of those singles paved the way for her self-titled 2002 debut album, which peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 and earned her a Grammy for Best Contemporary R&B album. Her next three albums would all land in the Top 10, spawning hit singles like "Rock wit U (Awww Baby)" and firmly establishing her as one of R&B's biggest stars. Her fifth studio album BraveHeart was five years in the making, and if preview singles "Never Should Have" and "I Got It" are any indication, the album and accompanying tour were well worth the wait.

    Dragged on

by ashantilover on 12/17/14The Guvernment - Toronto

Honestly thought it was more of an Ashanti concert rather than just an Ashanti appearance! She showed up at 11:30 when doors opened at 7pm... So glad guv is closing they need to quit having these horrible events

one of the best shows I've gone to in a while. Ashanti always delivers though. She was so vulnerable and passionate and it was evident that she was enjoying herself as much as we were enjoying her. after the show even though she was tired and had her family with her, she made sure to see us and let us get pics with her. I would absolutely recommend any Ashanti show to any and everyone

    Ashanti has a Braveheart

by KingMeech on 4/4/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

This was an amazing show. Ashanti took us through her entire career. She performed classics that put her on the map so to speak. She also performed crowd-favorites from her new album. She had great moments, where she spoke about how her personal life had become a mirror to her professional life. She also performed alongside Jeremih; a chart topper himself which received an overwhelming response from the crowd. This concert was amazing. Ashanti spoke candidly about her songs. She and her dancers moved very well. Her vocals were very strong. There was a great moment when Ashanti sung "Happy Birthday" to her sister, her mother & father joined her on stage. Ashanti showed she is still here and will be for years to come.

    Perfect in every day

by JackSullivan on 4/4/14B.B. King Blues Club and Grill - New York

I am an Ashanti fan but even I wasn't expecting the action packed 2 1/2 hour show she put on. All of the hits, incredible dancing, sounded great live, audience participation, and even some celebrity special guests--Ashanti is a MUST see.

    Ashanti did good

    by MsKaybee on 12/10/13Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

It was pretty boring until the last 20 minutes when Ashanti found out the audience stayed seated and didn't take pictures at the request of Ho-Chunk. Once she told us to get out of our seats, and we were able to take pictures we had a blast!

    Ashanti Show

    by AWalk78 on 12/10/13Ho-Chunk Gaming-WI-Dells - Baraboo

Ashanti put on a good performance. She interacted well with audience. We sat in the back of the genera admission seats and it was very hard to see. When this facility says No cameras, they mean in! Security was very strict on this and came around to stop people from taking pictures or video.

Ashanti can't wait for her to comeback!

by AaronDavis on 3/1/12Arco Arena - Sacramento

I just heard Ashanti's comeback song on the radio! I was checking to see if she was doing any shows recently! Last time I seen her was in 2008 when she performed in Sacramento, I also seen her in 2003 when she was with R.Kelly! She's a good performer, I like how she performs a medley of all her songs and interacts with the crowd! Can't wait to see her again!

    by Raven07 on 3/5/11Falls View - Toronto

I seen Ashanti about a year ago in Canada i believe I payed $80 for my ticket and I missed half the show but I was not upset. I LOVED the show, she sang a lot of crowd favs and got the crowd hype. her energy was amazing and the crowd felt it. I would recommend that ppl see her if they haven't. I wasn't disappointed.
