As a Swedish death metal band that mainly pens and performs songs about Viking history and lore, it makes absolute sense that their name is in the fictional language of Sindarin (created by J. R. R. Tolkien) and translates into “Mount Doom”—the volcano in Tolkien’s fantasy world of Middle Earth. It’s also fitting that Johan Hegg (vocals), Olavi Mikkonen (guitar), Johan Söderberg (guitar), Ted Lundström (bass) and Fredrik Andersson play über-loud hit songs like “Death In Fire,” “Thousand Years of Oppression,” “Without Fear,” “A Fury Divine” and “Risen From the Sea” with as much speed and vigor as wielded by the almighty hammer of Thor. Legions of death metal fans have been grabbing concert tickets since the early ‘90s to witness the fire and fury of Amon Amarth LIVE on stage, performing music that the band’s website describes as “a compelling fusion of buzzsaw riff work, melodic harmonies and soul-crushing rhythms.” Amon Amarth frequently play at metal festivals around the globe and tour with other top-notch death metal acts like Goatwhore, Enslaved and Skeletonwitch.
Over the course of their career, Amon Amarth have played at venues like Arizona Federal Theatre, and have brought The Fillmore (Philadelphia), The Fillmore (Detroit), The Fillmore (Minneapolis) to capacity.

Ok, didn’t really know Amon Amarth till they opened for Ghost last year - but then I was hooked. They put on a great show and are masters of melodic metal! Highly recommend.
Fantastic show in the theater of clouds configuration. Sound was on point. Staff here are some of the most helpful at any venue I go to.
I saw Amon Amarth with Cannibal Corpse, Obituary, and Frozen Soul on April 26th and it was freakin brutal as hell and we had a great time. The show was awesome, the people who work at Moda were super chill and nice, and the crowd was a bunch of really sweet headbangers, some even brought their kids! I’ve never seen a metal show at a stadium before and it was way way WAY more killer than I could have ever hoped for. Please bring as many METAL acts here as you can!! HAILZ!!! 🤘🤘🤘
This was my first real concert. I was not let down. Amon Amarth was everything I had hoped it would be, experiencing it live. They are absolutely amazing! Everything about their show was so well done: The music, the props, the effects, the lighting. I made the right decision to go see them, and I can’t wait till they come back. I hope it’s not too far in the future, because I’m ready now. Thank you Amon Amarth for creating such a wonderful memory for me! Keep your melodic death metal coming, for I shall be an avid listener till Valhalla is my end, and hopefully even after. A true Shield Maiden I will stay!
Great show! Moda needs to bring back a smoking area.
First time using online tickets, all hosts polite the show is STUPENDOUS. I was memorized The large characters; Vikings, ships & dragon WOW. Thank you. have taken this off my bucket list since I am over sexty I will go to another concert of Amon Armoth Stay young !
This is the 3rd time that I have seen Anon Amarth and they killed it, as usual. I wish I could say the same about the venue. Riverside Municipal Auditorium is a cool place to see a band, but the sound system sucks! This is the second show that I’ve seen there and I couldn’t hardly hear the vocals over the drums. Either the acoustics are bad, or the sound guy is deaf. I probably won’t go there again.
Awesome Show. Great venue. Floor tickets are the best. Definitely will be seeing them again....Row Row Row 🤘
I've always loved Amon Amarth's music as soon as I heard them. Seeing them live, being in the pit is a whole experience though! The stage looked amazing, (big shoutout to the crew) the actors battling on stage, the interaction with the crowd, and the people there all made it one of the best shows I've ever been to!
