Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band are regarded as one of the very best live rock acts of all time. From humble New Jersey beginnings in 1972, they grew in popularity to become one of the true icons of American music. Hits such as “Born In The USA” and “Dancing In The Dark” cemented Bruce Springsteen as one of America's top popular rock vocalists. He's known for being one of the hardest-working acts in the industry, and concerts can regularly last three hours or more and tours often last years rather than months.
Bruce Springsteen began his musical career singing and playing in a number of bands in the New Jersey area in the mid-‘60s. Influenced by the likes of Elvis Presley, the Beatles and Cream, his musical style was both a reflection of his own tastes and of his blue-collar working-class American roots. The mix of old-fashioned rock and roll with a more progressive, often politically minded lyrical style soon began to build a cult following for Springsteen. By 1972 he was signed to a deal with Columbia Records, along with the E Street Band. The band's members changed now and then over the years, but the core members were Danny Federici, Clarence Clemons, Garry Tallent, Roy Bittan and Max Weinberg. Together they released their first album, Greetings From Asbury Park NJ, in 1972.
While they enjoyed tremendous success in the late ‘70s and early ‘80s, they were launched into the megastar category with the release of Born In The USA in 1984. The album stormed the US charts, becoming one of the biggest-selling records of all time with over 30 million albums sold. Bruce Springsteen became an American pop-culture icon and the band enjoyed huge success worldwide with sold-out stadium tours and numerous top 10 singles.
In 1999 Bruce Springsteen was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall Of Fame and over the years the act has won numerous Grammy and Golden Globe Awards while continuing to rock at sell-out shows the world over. Bruce has always remained true to his roots, often turning down offers from corporate advertisers wanting to use his music for profit. His music has truly captured the American spirit over the years, which is why he has remained a much-loved and consistently popular musician for such a long time. Away from his on-stage commitments he is an activist for equal rights and runs a charity called The Foundation which helps support war veterans and food banks.
Terrible sound. The show was awesome but the sound was muddy.
Waited almost two years for this show. Had some reservations about age, illness, etc… but Bruce was absolutely amazing
Great concert. Access to the venue was very easy and the acoustics and appearance was great. Of course Bruce was awesome… as usual. Just 3 hours and 10 minutes of good ol’ Rock n Roll. And the E Street Band is just “The Best”. A great concert experience
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band never disappoint! So much energy from Bruce and the band. The venue, JMA Wireless Dome, however, leaves much to be desired. The acoustics were terrible. The Dome was made for Syracuse University sporting events, not concerts. I love Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band!!
The energy he had was unbelievable, great concert and he still sounds wonderful.
Nothing but the best from Bruce and the spectacular E St. Band! I've seen him many times and he always surpasses expectations. Always looked like he was having a blast, spent half the concert with the audience and gave plenty of time for all the band members to shine. He played for about 2 hrs 50min. Hope to see him again soon.
Bruce was prompt and basically played 2 hrs and 20 minutes nonstop. Unfortunately my view was blocked by a pole from the lighting control area. It was my first Springsteen concert I had a great time. My only disappointment was that he didn’t play born in the USA.
Springsteen went nonstop for 3 hours. No real breaks. An awesome show.
Bruce, at 74, had young fans, all the way up to fans in their 70's! The Boss was full of energy and didn't waste a minute in between songs. Every member of the band was included in having a solo and I personally loved his current saxophonist is the nephew of the late Clarence Clemons, and matched his late uncle's skill and vibe! I danced alongside a teenager with her mom and at 60 y/o, literally had a blast "Dancing in the Dark"with complete strangers. Singing every word to most songs 🎵 🎵 was so exhilarating. If you get a chance... don't miss this one!
This was the best concert I have seen since the Stones in 1998. In fact, Springsteen is as better and still the Boss. He played nonstop from 7:40pm to 11pm. As he and the E Street Band sound as good as ever. You can tell he loves what he does and the crowd fed off that energy. I waited over 20 months and drove 3 hours to see this concert and would wait another 20 more, it was that good.
Have seen at least 50 times, to me was one of his best shows I have seen. At his age performing like he did for 3 hours amazing.
Bruce is always great! This was my 3rd show this tour and Columbus by far the best! Keep rocking Bruce!
Bruce NEVER disappoints. A three hour show and a stage full of music. If you are on the fence, go!
Bruce Springsteen is an incredible entertainer. At 74 years old, he has the energy and stamina of much younger men. He launched over a 3 HOUR show with NO BREAKS, No PAUSES, just SUPERB entertainment. His interaction with the audience was unbelievable. Go see him!
He put on a great show!!! He played non stop for over three hours and had the energy and enthusiasm of a twenty year old
My 50th Springsteen show was phenomenal!!! Bruce just keeps on going 30 songs three hours.
He gave and gave and gave for over three hours, and as he went on the more energized he got, and we got. We could have gone on all night long.
Everything I hoped for. After being postponed twice it was worth the wait. An amazing show. Loved the Venue too. Would see another show at Nationwide!!
It was a long wait for this show, but it was well worth the wait. I think this was my 8th Springsteen show and it ranked at our near the top (non-Broadway edition). I never knew that opening with Youngstown was what I needed but, it turns out, it absolutely was. It just kept banging from there. I always love She's the One and Wrecking Ball in person and Racing in the Street was the unexpected highlight of the night for me. Springsteen shows are the thing I love doing the most. I can't wait for the next one!
I've been to see Bruce 8 times over the last 17 years. I had a terrible experience in Cleveland last year due to bad feedback from the speakers in our area at the top of the arena, stage right. I was afraid that maybe it would happen again. I was also afraid I would never enjoy a Bruce concert again and he had maybe peaked. Columbus, Bruce, and the band all brought it Sunday night. It was quite possibly the very best performance I've seen of them live. I can't wait to see them again in Pittsburgh this August!
