Atlanta Hawks History
The lineage of the Hawks dates to 1946, when, as the Tri-Cities Blackhawks, they played in the NBA's forerunner, the National Basketball League. They moved to Milwaukee in 1951, shortening their name, and then to St. Louis in 1955. They made the NBA finals four times in a five-year stretch, defeating the Boston Celtics to capture the franchise's only title in 1958. In 13 seasons in St. Louis, the Hawks missed the playoffs only once.
After moving to Atlanta in 1968, the Hawks' postseason runs continued for five years, fueled by the likes of Pete Maravich, Lou Hudson and Walt Bellamy. In 1976, Ted Turner bought the team and installed Hubie Brown as coach, and by his second season, the team was again a playoff contender. The Dominique Wilkins era began in 1982, with "The Human Highlight Film" leading the team to four straight 50-win seasons beginning with the 1985–86 season.
The arrival of Dikembe Mutombo helped the Hawks continue to make postseason runs in the late 1990s, but the new millennium brought a difficult eight-year dry spell. That ended with the 2007–08 season, the first of 10 consecutive years in which they earned a playoff berth.
In 2018, the team drafted Trae Young. He led the team with 29.6 points and 9.3 assists per game in his second season. During the 2021–22 regular season, Young led all of the NBA in total points (2,155) and total assists (737). During the postseason, the Atlanta Hawks went on an incredible playoff run, led by Young, that saw them advance to the Eastern Conference Finals where they lost to eventual NBA Champions Milwaukee Bucks.

With Atl United game releasing & the Hawks game starting traffic was horrible & finding parking was horrible. Streets were made one way and going away from the parking decks. Could not find parking so I took the ticket loss and went home. Will never buy tickets again when two teams play on the same day!
We went to the stadium to cheer on the Celtics, but were so impressed with the facility, and awesome fan support for the Hawks and the staff! The staff, especially Fred and this precious lady-I wish I would have got her name, was so helpful in finding seats and getting us to the right place. Fred walked us all the way to our seats (I was pushing my son in a wheelchair). The other lady walked us to our seats for the Friday game. We even hugged-she was precious, and kind-she was die-hard Hawks-us die-hard Boston-but became instant friends. We could not get wheelchair seats, so I paid triple to sit in the Atlanta Social T22. I did not know what I was buying-seats were AMAZING!!! AMAZING!!! The best seats we ever sat in at a game-I may have felt like Beyonce! Thank you!
Great atmosphere! Thr food was reasonable, the drinks were a lil pricey
Everything about the game was great. The atmosphere is amazing. The seats are good for the price. My only issue is that they don't accept cash at the stands which at times makes it difficult to manage.
No matter if the Hawks Win or Lose, me and my family have an amazing time at Statefarm Arena! The staff are cordial and helpful, the energy is unbelievable! Thank you for continually to make our experience pleasurable!
The energy in the arena was electric!!!🏀🏀 The food and entertainment was fantastic!!!
Great experience and great environment at State Farm Arena!
They were great tickets to see State Farm with people from out of town. Good view of exciting game Hawks should have won
It was my boys first time at an NBA game and the Hawks were awesome about it. They had a special swag bag for them. The atmosphere was great. Not a bad seat in the house.
We had a great time. The atmosphere was electric and their hype people kept you engaged in the game. We were in the upper level and they were still great seats. Not sure there is a bad seat in the place.
I bought 22 tickets to the game for me and my foreign co workers! It was a great overall experience on Hispanic Heritage night thank you to my Atlanta Hawks representative Ms.Channing ! She help make this happen
Bought SRO tickets and the were perfect for the occasion! Needs to offer this more!
I love Atlanta and now I love the Hawks! The electricity in the Arena was addicting! Love the way they catered to the Fans and the kids. Thanks Ticketmaster for easy entrance. Definitely going to have to re-do another event soon.
Terrible experience. Never able to get my purchases approved and my cards are solid.
That night was one of the greatest for my nephew. He got the chance to see his favorite player Trea Young play and the team beat the warriors. As an aunt it was one one the most exciting nights of my life. I got to take my nephew to his first hawks game and see his face as he watched his favorite player, enjoy good food and have an experience of a lifetime. My nephew had been a bit down about not meeting Trea at the meet and greet a couple days prior but the game through all that sadness out the window. I left that arena with the Auntie of the century title. What an amazing night. Its safe to say "boy, we had a time last night."
Great experience!! It was my daughters first game and she was amazed at all the arena offered. The staff was helpful and kind.
The game was great. Fun atmosphere and enjoyable entertainment. Def will make another game at state farm arena.
