What a fantastic show. Beyond good!! Best show I've seen in a long time!!
This was probably the funnest concert I have ever been to. The whole crowd was really getting into the performance. The song brought back many memories from my teen years. If I live closer to the venue, I would have gone both nights.
I wasn’t sure how they were going to pull off a concert with a symphony orchestra, but it was absolutely one of the most amazing concerts. I’ve seen! The mood of the concert was way more relaxed than other rock concerts, but the fans were absolutely the same, and the love of the band showed.
It was a nice surprise that they had the Grand Rapids orchestra. I took my son and they played the song he liked. The crowd was super lame. Hardley anyone danced, clapped, moved around. Idk if that's why the concert was only an hour, but I drove 2 hours to see them. If I knew it was only an hour I might have passed, and they played Blister in the Sun twice within 15 minutes. I alway love seeing the Femmes, they played good, but there were some really disappointing factors that might defer future shows. Like not worth driving 2 hours, leaving work early, getting a hotel room, all that for 1 hour.
Dreams do come true my friends and that's exactly what happened for me when I had the opportunity to see the Violet Femmes play with our very own Grand Rapids Symphony. Loved every minute of it! Huge talent and sounded great after 40 years!
Venue was A+. The band sounded amazing and the orchestra added made it top notch!! The show could have been a little longer but we are all old so it was acceptapbe lol
I really enjoyed seeing the Violet Femmes concert. They played through the entire debut album plus several other hits. Lots of energy, they sounded great, and the venue was full. Great show.
What a GREAT concert! The Femmes did NOT disappoint! The lead singer, Gordon Gano, has a voice that his withstood the test of time! He sounded 18 still! The band played for well over 2.5 hours straight! The entire "Violent Femmes"1983 album was performed as well as many other VF songs. I danced all night! Would love to see them again and again. Definitely took us back to our youth!
Amazing show! Sounds exactly the same and was super entertaining! Loved reliving my youth for one night!
Great show and the Femmes still rock! HOB Dallas is a really nice venue with convenience of nearby parking and restaurants.
if you like the self titled album...YOU HAVE TO GO!
VF was absolutely Fantastic and I totally enjoyed my time at White Oak Music Hall on the Lawn.
Violent Femmes really know how to put on a great show. Great instrumentation, musicianship, and of course great tunes!
Everything was perfect from start to finish! I've loved this band for 40 years & they did not disappoint! Great crowd energy too!
Each time I see them, they get better! I hope they come back soon!
Totally worth it to see the VF's. Sound just like 1983. Great set and great crowd !!!
Loved the band and the venue was just right! They played all my favorite songs!
Gordon and the gang made it look easy (it’s not.) They still have it… and then some. What a night!
I’ve been to White Oak Music Hall many times. Seen shows on all 3 stages. They played outside on the lawn. The weather was perfect if not for a little buggy. The sound was good. The crowd was actually one of the best crowds I’ve been in in a while. Everyone was very respectful of each others space and friendly. Good vibes all around. I had to dock them a half star bc they ran out of tee shirts before their set even started (except 3X). I guess they weren’t expecting such a crowd, never seen that happen before. I also have to dock em another half a star bc their set was so short. I guess their songs are all just really short. Minor things, overall it was a great time.
