    Loved It!

by I was Mesmerized! Loved it! on 4/25/24Columbia County Performing Arts Center - Evans

I can honestly say that this was the best play I have ever seen. I cried, I laughed, and I felt I was truly uplifted during this performance. Although the play was two and a half hours long, it was entertaining throughout. Loved it!

    Long Road Trip

by SanDe on 4/23/24North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

First time there. The long trip to get there was worth it. Different than what I expected but John's narration was great. .

Both more and less than I expected.

by Jessica on 4/19/24Credit Union of Texas Event Center - Allen

It was truly beautiful and amazing. I just LOVED John narrating it all. It kept both the adults and children alike engaged especially my soon to be 18 yr old son. He said he liked it, that it was all right, and that he only cried 4 times. LOL. I would love to go and see it again some time although I would like to see a few additions or changes if at all possible... My son said he could follow because he grew up learning of the stories of Jesus in the books in the bible which I loved coming from him but I can see where he was coming from in how he thought it would be more... It was good to narrate the story that was coming up however we would have really liked to hear at least SOME of the stories told DURING the story's performance. For example when Jesus spoke. To hear his voice if only but a few words. The dances and movements were very good and especially militant when needed to be. Then also for it to appear more real to be able to FEEL it all more real when it came to the beatings. Don't get me wrong we definitely weren't looking to have anyone hurt or cut or anything like that but at least to appear like it was. The hitting and slashing with the whips looked like the whips were made of yard with no weight to them at all. Again NOT looking for heavy weights but just for it to not look like it was like a practice rehearsal if you will. Or to hear when the angel came and gave message to our Blessed Mother. We would have loved to hear that too. Or even an infant newborn cry at birth or children laughing at play with Jesus. I am not in a wheelchair thankfully but I was VERY glad I thought to bring my cane as there were no elevators when I asked for one and the stairs were steep. I wouldn't have made it to the bathroom at intermission and I could have fallen too. In addition we went early enough because I can be a little bit slow sometimes depending on what kind of day I'm having but still we parked and got all the way up to near the door entrance when we were told NOT by employees or volunteers but by other ticket holders that NO BAG would be allowed in unless it was clear AND also to be a very VERY SMALL bag at that. I had to turn around and go all the way back up the elevator then to my car to take my bag back and then carry just my debit card. I didn't have my cane with me on the first trip down so by the time I got back I was well winded. NOT TO MENTION I have toiletries I carry in my purse that I might need that I DO NOT want to have everyone who takes a look my way know I'm carrying big thick bladder control pads JUST in case I don't make it to the bathroom in time. Now I understand the show is not that long to hopefully not need any of these things BUT just knowing I have them make me feel comfortable enough to buy the tickets and not worry that I'll be stuck in a very bad and embarrassing situation ESPECIALLY should I require help from anyone too. I promise I would have thought twice about buying tickets and going had I known this before. Having said all this I do feel the show was very good and act the perfect time of year too. The job of Satan and his evil followers were outstanding! Now they did not have to have sound effects as much because their movements said it all. Satan walking around angrily in between people being happy or any good happening. You could see he was fuming and then for his followers as they were dressed and rolling around coming up from the ground was SO visual that I have been able to bring this up in many conversations with my son since then having to do with a current situation or wonder at hand. He can SO relate when I bring up how Satan is just waiting for us to fall at any given moment so we have to be diligent on doing and being who Christ wants us to be and also by doing so how we work for God and serve Him and how we can be part of the solutions and not the problems and actually HELP our fellow mankind.

    Production was subpar

by H Smith on 4/19/24North Charleston Performing Arts Center - North Charleston

    1. We were not aware that our seats were directly behind all the components of the computer and electrical operations with all their lights directly in our faces. 2. During some of the musical performances the bass was so loud it sounded like it was vibrating on itself. 3 A spotlight centerstage shining out to the audience obscured our vision several times during the performance. 4 The content and performers were Great! John stole the show!

    Amazing

by DAUGHTER OF THE KING on 4/18/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I love every part of it. John is funny. Jesus and the disciples are fantastic. I did wonder though. I could have sworn last year there was more in the creation part. Maybe I'm wrong. But I actually love it all. And the Passion is so intense. Just a Jesus rising from the tomb is emotional.
