Really well done. Probably should come with a trigger warning but I absolutely loved it.

    Surprisingly powerful show

by TNHokie on 12/10/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

I wasn’t sure what to expect going in to the show other than familiarity with the music. Took a bit to figure out what was going on with the storyline but the show had a powerful message and I thought the performance and singing were really good. Enjoyed very much.

    Jagged Little Pill

by Jim I on 12/9/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

This touring production is an amazing commentary of what is a more typical life than we sometimes want to think. Acting was superb. Very believable characters. Professional choreography. Excellent dancers demonstrated amazing technique and training. Most outstanding were the vocal performances. I went into the performance a big fan of the music and left amazed at well the album could be stitched into a musical. This program is destined to become a classic. One of those musicals that define a moment in history. Well worth your time and money to attend a performance.

    Not what I expected

by Jenkins on 12/8/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

I had no idea what this was about, but I was surprised at how deep and heavy it was. I thought they tackled controversial topics in a thoughtful, but obviously biased way, and I loved how Alannis Morisette’s songs were incorporated in such a relevant way to the story. I think I would have enjoyed it more had I known what to expect, and I was surprised that something so liberal was received so well in my conservative city. The cast was very talented, and I’m glad I saw it, although I don’t think I’d see it again. I would only recommend it to somewhat liberal friends. That album was a soundtrack for some cumbersome changes in my life, so it was refreshing to hear it again while I’m in a good place.

    Not what I expected

by Nonstopmom on 12/8/23Tennessee Theatre - Knoxville

The singing and performances were great. The performers are very talented and should be proud of how they did. We did not like the “social justice” part of it being presented because we bought tix thinking it was going to be a lighthearted, fun show and like the music. Maybe a disclaimer should be added to the bottom of the ad to make people aware of exactly what they are buying tix to.

This was the best show I have been to in a long time! It covered so many sensitive topics in a powerful way without being cliche. A must see for anyone living in these current times. I was so happy my 15 year old got to see and learn while being entertained. And of course the music is some of my all time favorite!

    okay

    by Dyl on 9/20/23

This show had great potential but fell short in some ways. I saw it at the Orpheum in Minneapolis. The sound was very difficult to hear correctly. Often, the band would out power the voices. I don't know if that is a product of the venue or the show. We have seen many shows at the Orpheum and have had that problem before. The real disappointment was the cast. It really felt like it was the B team. The singing just wasn't very good and the acting was uninspiring. I have seen shows on Broadway and many touring productions. Most of the time the tours are very good and close to the quality of Broadway. However, this one fell short and became long and mundane.

I thought Jagged Little Pill was amazing. The music was fabulous, storyline was smart, acting was on par. Kudus to the cast and crew for a truly wonderful theater experience.

    Powerful

    by NeeJo on 8/18/23

This show was the most powerful thing I have seen in a long time- maybe ever. Even though the album is from the 90s, the topics in the musical are so relevant to our world today. I truly believe most people will be able to connect with some character in the show. I think everyone needs to see this show!

    Beautifully mesmerizing

    by Jen on 8/15/23

It touched on so many difficult situations in life today. At times it was raw and emotional but it also was funny and heartwarming. It was a delicate balance that was performed with perfection.

    Good, not great.

    by Kindaculteral on 8/15/23

We only stayed for the first half because it was already too long. It had its moments but the signing and corresponding live band was missing true broadway pop and harmony. Very high Woke rating as evidence by the biggest laugh of the performance was disparaging - wait for it - Fox News.

    Good, but not great

    by J-Siz on 8/15/23

JLP the musical is worth seeing, but is the kind of show you see once and probably won't want to see again. I don't see it being the kind of show that people look back on in 10 years and think was a classic. It is definitely a product of its time in the late 2010s/early 2020s, and that will hold it back greatly in the coming decades. It tried too hard to do too many things, making the plots thin and certain characters disposable. It was 2.5 hours long, and given the content, it felt it could have been a better, tighter show had it been 2hrs long and reined in a bit. It had multiple plot lines that only existed so certain songs could be worked into the show, leaving it feeling quite thin at times from plot perspectives. JLP takes a very angsty album from a young adult and tried to reflect that youthful angst into a 2.5 hour show, which gets old after a while. I'm all for characters who are highly imperfect, and who can grow from it as a show progresses, but this show feels emotionally cheap because of the way it was written. It lacked nuance and depth--they probably weren't going for that because they wanted it to feel like the album. However, it covered some very serious, important topics, and it felt like it struggles to hit home because it didn't take itself seriously enough in how it dealt with all of them together as a whole. Overall, I think it's worth seeing. I just don't think the show was as good as it could have been had it been tightened up a bit and maybe workshopped a bit longer before being set free for the public to watch.

    My new favorite musical!

    by Kelly on 8/15/23

This show has it all: humor, anguish, amazing music and singing, a number of meaningful messages - it touches on the whole range of human experiences that we all can connect to. I went once because I knew I'd love the music, but ended up getting tickets for a second show the next night because it was so amazing. I recommend this show to absolutely everyone!
