    A Magical Evening

by Lisa on 3/25/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

What a fun experience! My adult son and I enjoyed Harry Potter Film Concert with the Virginia Symphony. Wow. Truly amazing to see and feel the movie with the sights , sound and charismatic energy of the symphony performing the beloved musical score. So much fun. Definitely the best way to enjoy and appreciate the musical talents of composer John Williams. I truly hope the Virginia Symphony does more events like this, because this should be on everyone's bucket list. This is not your typical movie theater experience. This event combined audience participation, live music to thrill you and a big screen.....it was absolutely a memorable and magical evening. It will be long remembered as the best night ever!!!

    Amazing!

by Dstoffel on 3/25/24Chrysler Hall - Norfolk

Didn't really know what to expect when I purchased the tickets but this was Amazing! Hearing the music live while watching the movie was just unbelievable. There were parts of the movie we didn't realize we had missed when we watched it at home. Just so much depth and emotion! The VA Symphony was amazing and added so much to this experience. Can't wait for the next concert!!

Spectacular. Amazing talent by Buffalo Philharmonic Orchestra. Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone is an incredible movie with incredible music. The BPO made it even more amazing with their stupendous talent. Hope Shea's provides more of this type of entertainment. Such a pleasure!

    Not great

by Me14094 on 2/26/24Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Wish Ticketmaster would have told me my seat was an obstructed view. The top third of the movie screen wasn't visible to us. Spent almost $90 per ticket to not be able to see the whole show.

    Magical Music!

by The McAuleys on 2/25/24Shea's Performing Arts Center - Buffalo

Already love Harry Potter, but the addition of the Philharmonic Orchestra was incredible! Flawlessly incorporated to the movie, the sound was amazing— such a wonderful experience! We also loved the atmosphere of the audience reaction to both the movie moments, as well as the beautiful music— can’t wait for the next movie!

Absolutely LOVED this experience!!! So awesome to see and hear the live BPO playing along with the movie (balcony seats were perfect for this). The audience cheered the various Hogwarts schools as well as the orchestra. Wonderful vibe!!!

    Great music!

by Chris on 2/2/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The music was really really enjoyable, however I think the yelling and cheering at random scenes during the show cheapens the experience. The audience was encouraged to be loud and cheer when characters were on screen by the conductor. Because of this people beside us were narrating and talking during the whole movie, which made it difficult to enjoy the music and movie.

    Awesome!

by Potter Fan Family on 2/1/24DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

Show was even better than expected. We've seen the movies many times but the orchestra brought it to life in a whole new way. We appreciate the music much more now that we've heard it from a great live orchestra. It was fun to have audience participation... Not your usual orchestra crowd!
