Broadway's hit crowd-pleaser takes you to the stoops of the Bronx in the 1960s- where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob boss he'd love to be.
Bursting with high-energy dance numbers and original doo-wop tunes from Alan Menken, the songwriter of Beauty and the Beast, A BRONX TALE is an unforgettable story of loyalty and family.
Academy Award® winner Robert De Niro and Tony® winner Jerry Zaks direct this streetwise musical- based on Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri's story- that The New York Times hails as "A Critics' Pick! The kind of tale that makes you laugh and cry."
This is one of my favorite movies and now I can say it is also one of my favorite performances!
Venue was nice, staff was nice, musical was great
It was a truly fabulous show. Wasn’t sure how they were going to make a musical out of the story but we were pleasantly surprised. Loved every song and every minute of the show. Would definitely see it again.
Excellent adaptation of the movie with a great cast, tunes, etc.
It was a great night with friends. We began with dinner reservations because we didn't read the fine print and see that finger foods we included in our suite package before the show. We managed to hustle down at intermission to sneak in a drink and snack but quickly had to get back up. NOTE: If you get the suite package, arrive early and take advantage of the included drinks and finger food. The show was OK. I am a fan of the movie so I am rather bias. The major scenes were covered but the first half was pretty slow. Second half was better. I wouldn't see it again nor would I recommend it to anyone that is a fan of the movie.
I really wanted to love this performance especially with all the Broadway star power behind it but it did not live up to the movie. The audio was off in several of the solos and the songs did not support the storytelling well. The set was amazing though but this adaptation failed tremendously for us.
It was very entertaining. The props the songs reminded me of the original movie. The actors were very talented individuals. Wouldn’t mind seeing it again.
Great high energy story. Some brilliant singers.
Absolutely incredible. Excellent incorporation of movie into a musical. Cast was spot on character and definetly would see it again
Me and my family ad a great night! I usually go to at least one Broadway in Chicago show a month, and A Bronx Tale was Fantastic! It was a fun show and the talent was wonderful! Our seats were great and the entire experience from entering and leaving the theater went very smoothly. Everyone at the Nederlander Theatre was friendly and inviting! I plan to attend many, many more shows there!
Funny, enjoyable, made me smile. Quirky like my italian heritage memories. Followed the movie exactly. Character who played Lorenzo was DeNiro!
The theater was gorgeous, and the actors were amazing. Absolutely loved this play.
The show was really enjoyable however our seats were not! We sat in the front row by the orchestra and the barrier was in our laps. I couldn’t move my feet and was terribly uncomfortable the entire show.
What a show!! I LOVE a good story set with music. A BRONX TALE delivered. I LOVE the ORIENTAL / Nederlander theatre. We sat in the very last row and saw it all. Take another bow!!
I believe Shane Pry was exceptional in the role of ‘Young Calogero’ AKA ‘C’. But the story line seemed more like “West Side Story” than “A Bronx Tale”
Loved it... loved the movie and this was an exact match, kept u entertained the whole time. Cast was brilliant and energetic
It was so good! I was really worried that it wouldnt capture the same feeling as the movie but I was wrong! They did such a good job in everything! One of the best plays I have gone to and will gladly watch it again.
We knew almost nothing about A Bronx Tale, but thoroughly enjoyed the musical. We found it very relevant to what is happening today in the US: racisim and the few with power controlling the many. My favorite song was "The Choices we Make," because indeed it shapes our lives forever.
Never saw this show before and didn't know what to expect. What a pleasant surprise !!
Went with my husband who will almost never go to a musical. Of course he was attached to this story and it didn’t disappoint. He enjoyed it so much he agreed to go to another musical with me. Start to finish - it was great!p
