Broadway's hit crowd-pleaser takes you to the stoops of the Bronx in the 1960s- where a young man is caught between the father he loves and the mob boss he'd love to be.
Bursting with high-energy dance numbers and original doo-wop tunes from Alan Menken, the songwriter of Beauty and the Beast, A BRONX TALE is an unforgettable story of loyalty and family.
Academy Award® winner Robert De Niro and Tony® winner Jerry Zaks direct this streetwise musical- based on Academy Award nominee Chazz Palminteri's story- that The New York Times hails as "A Critics' Pick! The kind of tale that makes you laugh and cry."
Great voices, great choreography, story hits your heart. Langyage a bit rough
Outstanding musical, storyline, performers, scenery. I hope this musical will play in our home town soon. Will definitely see it again.
Absolutely loved the show! We had great seats (although I don't think there would be a bad seat because the theater was small). My only complaint was that when we arrived, the staff would not let my brother-in-law use the restroom (we drove almost an hour and a half due to traffic in the city because of the St. Patrick's Day parade). We arrived around 10 minutes before show time. I think that was a bit inappropriate (patrons should be able to use the restroom and get a refreshment as long as they are not disruptive to the rest of the guests). KUDOS to the performers - it was an excellent performance!
What a beautiful venue - haven’t been here in a long time. Staging for Bronx Tale was fabulous. Successful story as a musical.
My daughter and I had to make a quick trip to Chicago for a medical appt. Only the day before, I decided to get tickets for a show. Hamilton was too expensive, but I found this one, and there were two front row seats available. The description said it was partial view, but I bought them at a great price, and the seats were great. We had fabulous visibility. We LOVED the musical. My daughter is involved in theatre herself, and she though it was also one of the best productions she's ever seen. We both absolutely loved the experience. Great show, great singing, loved meeting "Sonny" after the show.
Loved the musical. Talented singers and acting was outstanding.
Good storytelling of growing up in an Italian neighborhood in New York in the 60s, peppered with interesting characters. Depicts the complications of fathering, and the effects of coming of age under the competing tutelage of a mobster. Some heartfelt life lessons here, albeit too male-focused. The racial tension was unexpected but realistic. Quite a bit of stereotype slang and profanity. The songs firmly sets the time and place, moving the plot well, with a couple of memorable songs at the end. Solid acting and singing. First half needs more punch. Would I have missed anything if I hadn’t see it? - No. However, when the final doo-wop acapella is sung, you’re left with a warm heart that carries you the rest of the day.
This was truly an extraordinary experience! I loved everything about it; Chicago, the atmosphere, the performance, & the friends who I went with. Everything was perfect! I’d definitely do it again.
Beautiful, Quaint Theatre, seats were Great. Looked as if almost any seat would have been good....
This is not the greatest of musicals, but it is very good. It is fun and lighthearted. The plot is interesting because the relationships are more complex than they might first appear.
Great Show! The cast did an amazing job! Definitely recommend it!
Loved, loved, loved it. Highly recommend. Great music, it followed the movie very well, great props, and honest Italian humor. All ending with a good moral for all to live by.
My wife and I really enjoyed this play. The cast and crew were very talented.
One of my favorite movies transformed into a really good musical. The acting, singing, and dancing were all Great!!!
We enjoyed this show. The acting was good and the singers had good voices. Brianna-Marie Bell's solo was outstanding.
My seat was perfect. Beautiful and historical theater.
I love the movie so much that i think i was extra critical of the show. "C" was great. Music was kind of a miss for me. Sonny's character wasn't convincing. However the theater staff was great and very friendly; especially the bartenders.
A Bronx Tale was very good Broadway Play with very talented actors and actresses singing and dancing while telling a compelling story. Much different from the movie, but still very good!
I really enjoyed A Bronx Tale. I would definitely see it again. My only critique is they ran the ending together quickly in the last 30 minutes of the show. Part of this could have been told in some detail before intermission. it went by so fast with all the high points.
This was the second time seeing A Bronx Tale: The Musical - saw it on Broadway last year and this year, saw the tour in Chicago. The story is excellent and the talent that brings it to life is incredible. Many of the original cast are in the tour. Loved it!
