    Notch of a Christmas show

by Stu R on 11/23/23Columbia County Performing Arts Center - Evans

A Magical Cirque Christmas was neither magical nor "Christmas-y."It purported to be an antidote to Bah Humbug, but offered only a series of very good but less-than-magical acrobatic acts.

    Not Great

by JZ on 11/23/23Columbia County Performing Arts Center - Evans

I have been to many cirque shows. This was by far the least entertaining. There was way too much clown drama and not enough acts. Perhaps it’s because we are too small of a venue to have all the phenomenal performances that most cirques have in them. Whatever the reason, if this is the caliber of cirque we can get to come here it’s not worth the time, money, or expectation that comes with a cirque. I am hoping we can do better. I am and would like to remain ultra excited for our new performing arts center in Columbia county. I will not be returning or recommending seeing any cirque show in town in the future though.

A tired show and not up to past Cirque experiences

by Avera1 on 11/23/23Columbia County Performing Arts Center - Evans

Had front row seats that were so close to the stage you couldn't cross your legs comfortably. The show was a bit tired. The acrobatic performers were great, but the overall "magic Christmas"theme was not magical at all. I've definitely seen better Cirque shows.

    Disappointing Show

by R. V. on 4/21/23Hackensack Meridian Health Theatre at the Count Basie Center - Red Bank

This show was way overpriced for the quality of the performance. The acts were not professional and some of the performers weren't even in costume. Would not see it again.

    Just Okay

by BMurphy on 1/8/23DPAC - Durham Performing Arts Center - Durham

The show had some highpoints including the bicyclist and aerial acts, but lacked the wonder and magic I was expecting. The frequent video transitions between time periods was absolutely grating and migraine inducing to the point where I closed my eyes and covered my ears. The magical hostess was delightful, gorgeous and hilarious, but her segments went too long and felt like time fillers with silly magic tricks. Expected more "cirque" in a Cirque de Soleil show. It was disappointing.

    Boring

by Bored on 1/6/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

We left after 30 minutes. The actors didn’t even seem like they wanted to be there.

Hard to see from second level, monitors/screens could have been better utilized for activities on stage. Poor visibility and not typical cirque experience.

    Great Experience

by Katzlover on 1/3/23Majestic Theatre San Antonio - San Antonio

A magical cirque Christmas was truly magical. The young cast was able to transport the audience to a different type of performance. The feats of daring were breath-taking, and the emcee or "ringmaster" for the evening was hilarious.

    Not so great.

by Phill on 1/3/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Two stars. The premise was juvenile, although it seemed to have been well received by all the kids in the audience. The performance hall was disappointing, but I accept responsibility for that because of the seat choice. As a special evening for my wife and I, it was not.

    Christmas Gift for Mom

by AJ Cypress on 1/2/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

We took mom and stepdad. Very good show! Maybe not to the level of Cirque Du Solei, but surprisingly close. Good variety of performers, really impressed.

    Bait & Switch

by Steve on 1/2/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

The Magical CIRQUE Christmas ads showed what appeared to be performers from Cirque du Solei; however, this was actually a pretty poor magic show interspersed between Lucy Darling talking to plants in the audience about one-third of the show time. The rest of the show featured performances from not quite ready for prime time players, including jugglers who kept dropping items and chasing around the stage, trying to catch errant throws. There were two good performers but, although they were very good, they couldn’t come close to carrying the show. Miss this not so funny comedienne who hijacked the CIRQUE name and go to a real Cirque du Solei show or take in Esther’s Follies in downtown Austin for a much better show at a fraction of the price. The magician there, Ray Anderson, blows away Lucy Darling.

    A mixed bag

by Family Guy on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

Five of my family agree, the red-headed woman who did a lot of talking was un-funny and boring. That being said, there are many talented performers in this show. To label it "magical" was a stretch, we thought there would be much more "magic" content and less acrobatics. So we would call it a mixed bag ... some hidden gems in terms of performers, like the cycling dude and the hula-hoops guy. They were awesome and I could have watched them all night. An then there was way too much of the boring red-headed woman. Nearly the whole portion of the show after intermission was a waste. Too much talking and singing, not enough action.

    Great for kids.

by Nina on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

This show was more suitable for families with children. This is not like Cirque du Soleil at all. It has several small acts, circus, acrobats, juggling, magic, skits, with Christmas songs throughout. It is a good show for families with Children.

    Great Christmas show!

by Mama Cartet on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

The people in the show are very talented. The story that tied all the acts together was great. The main lady singing should be a professional!

    Awesome

by Rob on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

2nd half was great. They should have the video cameras taping some of the tricks so they people in the back can see better. And possibly louder vocals. My daughter and wife had a great time

    Great “Cirque Light”

by Larry on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

This was a great show and all five children from 4 to 22 enjoyed it. My wife and I have seen many Cirque shows dating back to Mystere at Treasure Island and about 20 since then including traveling tent shows. Never disappointed. Always exciting.

    Great Show!

by J. S. on 1/1/23Austin City Limits Live at The Moody Theater - Austin

A Magical Cirque Christmas turned out to be a really great show. Lucy Darling, the show's host was hilarious and entertaining. She interacted with the audience in between astounding acts of acrobatics and magic. Would definitely recommend. Great show!

    Ok, but needs improvement

by SouthernAtHeart on 1/1/23Smart Financial Centre at Sugar Land - Sugar Land

We really felt like this would have been better in a smaller venue. Either that, or use more projections of the performers on the screens. The big screen, although fun with the lights, really overshadowed the performances.
