About

TINA - The Tina Turner Musical on Tour

Experience the exhilarating Broadway musical that takes you on Tina Turner's trailblazing journey. The New York Times raves, "It possesses a seismic power! I've rarely heard an audience with this mighty a roar." And The Guardian cheers, "It's a celebration of triumph over adversity!"

With raw emotion in her voice and fire in her belly, Tina went from the little girl in small-town Tennessee, to the legend that ignited the globe with hits like, "What's Love Got To Do With It," "Proud Mary," "Private Dancer" and "River Deep." She made her own rules--defying the world's notions of race, age and gender. And it took blood, sweat, tears and triumphs to reach the top. A sold-out, smash hit in London, this is Tina's story, her way--brought to the stage by the Tony Award-nominated director, Phyllida Lloyd, and the history-making, Olivier Award-winning playwright of The Mountaintop, Katori Hall.

    Outstanding!

by D Cary on 4/2/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

The play TINA was excellent! The way the story was told, the actors and of course, the music were fantastic! While the young lady who played Ms. Turner didn't have her famous legs, her voice was stellar! Highly recommend to those who love Tina Turner's music.

Entertaining, but don't spend your rent money

by TallOne on 4/2/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

First part is rough and depressing. I know it is true, I guess I wanted more music. The last half was the Tina I wanted to see. The finale was great. The actress that played Tina had a great voice but not the Tina moves. It was a fun event anyway.

    Simply the Best!

by Tee Kay on 3/31/24Steven Tanger Center for the Performing Arts - Greensboro

The show was phenomenal and was an accurate depiction of Tina Turner's life. My husband and I enjoyed every aspect- the music, the band, the scenes, the actors, staging, costumes, etc. Our seat selection, in Orchestra Left, allowed us a very good view of the show and easy access to the entrance and exit of the facility. The staff at Tanger were so friendly, helpful and welcoming. We had a wonderful experience and highly recommend this show.

by AMPLIN on 3/13/24Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - Jacksonville

i saw this in New York on Broadway and it was great only a more grander stage. The one here, in my opinion, was even BETTER. The voices were beautiful and at the end of the show the cast REALLY showed out. Please go and see it before it finally ends for good. Nothing but kudos and Brava

    Talented Cast!

by JP on 3/9/24Jacksonville Center for the Performing Arts - Moran Theater - Jacksonville

I thoroughly enjoyed the show from start to finish! Having lived in Harlem, New York for nearly a decade before relocating to Florida, the experience felt like a night back in the city, which I didn't realize how much I missed. I extend my sincere thanks to all the actors for their exceptional talent and dedication. And to the show promoters, I express my gratitude for choosing to bring the show to Jacksonville, FL. It was truly an excellent experience!

The last ten minutes were great.

by grumpy old man on 2/8/24Music Hall At Fair Park - Dallas

The majority of the show was over-wrought melodrama surrounded by songs. The cast was good but the book of the show was cliched and poorly written. The highlight of the show was the last ten/fifteen minutes when the actress playing Tina did a full-out concert performance of two of Tina's hits. The energy felt during those few minutes is what I wish had been present throughout the entire show. Alas, it was not. But those last two numbers were magic.
