Marcus King faces heartache, addiction, and mental health head-on in his music. Pain quakes below the vibrato of his voice, and his delivery weighs heavy with booze-drenched regrets and mistakes in lonely hotels. The GRAMMY® nominated fourth generation musician from Greenville, SC, started playing guitar at 8-years-old following in the footsteps of his guitarist Father and Grandpa. Logging thousands of miles on the road as "The Marcus King Band," he established himself with unparalleled performance prowess. During 2020, he linked up with Dan Auerbach and cut his solo debut El Dorado, garnering a GRAMMY® Award nomination for "Best Americana Album." Between headlining venues, he performed alongside Chris Stapleton, Greta Van Fleet, and Nathanial Rateliff in addition to gracing the bills of Stagecoach and more. He has launched various mental health initiatives, including a guitar auction collaboration with MusiCares. Now, his 2024 album Mood Swings feels like the moment of baptism when water washes away a life's worth of sins and degradation and all that's left is a revived, yet still real-as-hell primal scream. It's as if King strained raw soul straight from his gut up through that broken heart and on to the record under the watchful eye of Rick Rubin. Emphasizing his vocals front-and-center more than ever before, the trusty guitar he's so often associated with plays the sideman this time around (though there's no shortage of impressive shredding). For as dark as everything seemed, you can't help but feel a sense of hope in the power of Marcus's voice.
Marcus King was fantastic, the America's Back Yard Venue was too small for the tickets sold and the stage was so low that you could barely see him over the crowd.
Marcus King is a beautifully talented soul and never fails to rock the house. I am always thrilled to have a chance to see him live. I was not as impressed with the venue. It was my first time there and it was not just packed, it was oppressively packed. I doubt I will be going to many more shows there. There are too many other venues around Fort Lauderdale that I like. Honestly Marcus should have played at the Pompano Beach Ampitheater. That would have been a perfect evening.
My first Markus King concert was amazing. I love Markus King!! Will see him in concert any time he plays near me.

This man rocks! It’s like listening to old bluesmen and southern rock combined. The energy and passion flows. I like to say he “has the music in him” and it just pours out. Big plus is the band all seem to be having fun! I’ll go to any Marcus King concert in my area over and over again! Go see this kid!
He was phenomenal and recommend him to anyone that love music. He is TOO big of a name and they totally oversold the venue. It’s was cramped and we had absolutely NO view of the stage whatsoever. We didn’t mind, as we have been able to see him 3 other times this year. 🎼🎼🎼

Marcus King Band were amazing (as they always are live). The opener was very impressive. The venue was great and the bartenders were fantastic. Unfortunately, the acoustics and sound engineering were poor bordering on terrible. Distortion galore (not the crunchy tube amp kind that’s desirable), levels all over the place. Really disappointing. Would I do it again? For Marcus King and my friends, yes. For sheer enjoyment? No.
My wife and had a great night of music. Marcus King is a rare talent. I’m convinced he’s genetically predisposed to master the guitar. Maybe aliens taught him - IDK. We went to his pre-show meet and greet and enjoyed an acoustic set. Nice fella, too. He played off his band a lot - especially the other guitarist. Sometimes they harmonized their guitars. Marcus’ soulful voice just grabs your attention by the throat. He truly crosses genres like nobody else. This was the second time we’ve seen him! Looking forward to number three.
Never heard of Joshua Ray Walker but now i have and I'm a fan! Marcus and the band are getting tighter with growth and with a couple hiccups during the show,it was still a smoking concert.The venue itself was to small for the energy of the crowd.No dancing room!!
Having heard Marcus King on live recordings with TTB, I was looking forward to my first show. I must say I was a bit disappointed. Yes, some blistering jams and a talented band, but they just seemed off and not in sync.
Loved the concert it was a bit too crowded but it didn’t take away from the excellent experience. Mary’s King is a super talent.

Marcus King continues to demonstrate that he is one of his generation's best singer/musician/songwriter's. A triple threat! His band is tight and extremely talented. I've attended many of his shows and each one is better than the last! Rock on young blood!

Super talented artists expressing the love of their trade that was captivating. I enjoyed watching Marcus King’s father jump on stage and jam with his son and the band. I will remember this concert for the rest of my life and encourage anyone with an appreciation for soul moving riffs to catch a show. You will witness something amazing. Marcus King is one of the most phenomenal guitarists alive today! Amazing voice to go with some bad ass guitar licks!!! He Rocked the House!!!
