About

ALADDIN, one of Broadway's most extravagant spectacles, is on tour in a production that’s dazzling audiences across North America. Like the hit musical comedy that opened at Broadway's New Amsterdam Theatre in 2014 — and broke 14 New Amsterdam box-office records — ALADDIN’s touring production has been a runaway smash. Since launching its second national tour in October 2022, the touring production has perfectly embodied the Broadway show’s eye-popping illusions, glittering-gold costumes and stargazing rendition of “A Whole New World.” With music by Academy Award-winner Alan Menken, lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice, and costuming by Tony Award-winner Gregg Barnes, ALADDIN is “Exactly What You Wish For!” (NBC-TV).

Wonderful. Would give 10 stars if I could

by Zhaphyre on 1/30/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Aladdin is my favorite movie of all time, so when I went to NYC and saw it was on broadway I almost went. But the prices were out of my range. But this show? The cast. The crew. The music. The atmosphere. Top notch. It was the best show I’ve ever seen in my life. 12/10 would see it again.

    Fantastic Show!

by Linda on 1/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

This production of "Aladdin"was one of the best productions that has been presented by the Birmingham Broadway Series. Everyone in the cast was strong, talented and, of course, Genie stole the show; Marcus Martin is extraordinarily talented.

    Grandkids Loved It!

by Sam G on 1/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

My wife and I took seven of our grandkids to the show. They were mesmerized from beginning to end and we made memories with them that will last a lifetime. This was our 2023 Christmas present to them and the countdown to the big event just built their anticipation of the night. We could not have been more happy with the outcome. Great job, everyone!

    Just ok

by JB26 on 1/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

Disney definitely make this show sparkle much. The cast was weak, particularly Jasmine. If it wasn’t for the Genie this would have been a complete disappointment. Don’t expect the glitz and glam of the other Disney musicals, this one was clearly a low budget show.

    Awesome

by Jami on 1/28/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

It was a great show. The costumes and sets were very beautiful and cool. Genie was by far the best and most entertaining and Jafar did a great job as well! Overall a great show.

    Show Amazing! Venue Stinks!

by Southern Grandma on 1/27/24BJCC Concert Hall - Birmingham

I want to say how spectacular Aladdin was. I thought the Genie did a better job than Will Smith in the Disney production. The magic carpet ride portion was first class.I hate it was in such a sorry, don’t care facility as the BJCC. First, let me say, there was nowhere on the tickets or in the prep for entering did it say you could not bring your purse in. I don’t keep a wallet in my back pocket. I had a two year old with diapers and wipes. I was the only adult with 5 kids. It was a normal size purse not a diaper bag. We went through two metal detectors. We were turned away and sent back to the car because only clear, 5X7 size bags could be brought inside. COULD THAT NOT HAVE BEEN IN BOLD SOMEWHERE? If the tickets weren’t $600 and I had 5 excited girls with me, I would have gone home. I took my granddaughters. I knew we needed to leave early and eat in the area, so I could get a good park since it was me and children. Birmingham should have picked a better spot for the Protective stadium. Yes, it beautiful, but more times than not, EMPTY. Instead they took almost ALL the parking for ANY event at the BJCC. Even today, a cheerleading competition was going on in another part of the facility. If I can’t park within a reasonable proximity of the place, I’m am not going, especially with just girls. Most parking is on the street or in rundown neighborhoods, abandoned commercial building parking lots, six and seven blocks away. Police were everywhere when we got out at 4:30 to insure safety. I now understand why so my people I know drive to Atlanta to see the same shows. They’ve even told me the quality of the shows are better. I don’t know about that but I do know the facility has to be better and parking has to be better. BIRMINGHAM GET YOUR ACT TOGETHER! Anyone can see Uptown is going downhill. The restaurants struggle unless large events are going on. Even the millions of tax dollars spent under the interstate bridges, are not used. You need a planning committee with common sense who care.
