About

Jay & Silent Bob on Tour

Since first appearing as Jay and Silent Bob in the indie comedy hit Clerks in 1994, Jason Mewes and Kevin Smith have commanded the loyalty of countless fellow slackers and misfits thanks to their outrageously foul-mouthed humor and inimitable chemistry.

Those fans may be as surprised as anyone by the duo's longevity. Smith first conceived of the characters as minor figures in Clerks, which the filmmaker based on his experiences working in a convenience store in New Jersey. He let Jay — closely based on Mewes, a friend of Smith's from high school — do most of the talking on screen. The characters proved so popular, Mewes and Smith brought them back for several more of Smith's films before they got a movie of their own in 2001's Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back.

In the fall of 2019, the twosome returned to the big screen in The Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, another comedy that features many other stars who Smith helped launch, including Ben Affleck. But it's Mewes and Smith who fans will most want to see when they come to cities across the U.S. for a special roadshow tour that combines screenings with live performances.

Jay & Silent Bob Background

One of the funniest (and foulest) comedy duos to ever hit the screen, Jay & Silent Bob have been slaying moviegoers, live audiences and comic-book readers since viewers first spotted them hanging outside a convenience store in Kevin Smith's 1994 comedy Clerks.

The partnership began when Smith wrote the character of Jay based on Jason Mewes, a high school friend with a real-life talent for outrageous quips and put-downs. Smith cast himself as Jay's taciturn sidekick Silent Bob. The characters were such a hit that they'd not only appear in many of Smith's later movies but star in their own comic book, an animated TV show and Jay & Silent Bob Strike Back, a 2001 cult hit that put the duo front and center on the big screen.

In 2019, Mewes and Smith re-teamed for The Jay & Silent Bob Reboot, a comedy that follows the continuing misadventures of their big-screen alter egos.

    Amazing

by APerry on 11/19/19Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

Great event! Movie was awesome and the q&a was so much fun. It was great to be in such a small venue with Kevin and jason. It felt more intimate and I felt so appreciative to get to be in the same small room as them and be that close to them. Such a memorable moment :)

    Jason and Kevin were great

by Christopher Robin on 11/19/19Center Stage Theater - Atlanta

The movie was everything I hoped it could be. Although the event staff was a bit slow at the door. It took 45 minutes to get everyone in, and the biggest bottleneck was the 21+ wristbands. Everyone was standing in line over an hour before the scheduled start time, and it was 45 minutes *AFTER* the schedule start time when I got my license checked. They could of easily walked down the line an hour earlier to get started on the wristbands and gotten us in 30 mins earlier at least.

    Jay & Silent Bob Evening

by Pimpymagoo on 11/18/19Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

Movie part could of been better. Definitely not going to be a blockbuster if it gets a theatrical release. Most of the people there were def Kevin Smith hero worshipers. Every time a cast member(All of which were in his past movies)showed up you couldn't hear yourself think from the outburst of applause, acoustics were garbage. I'd of rather not watched the movie and just had the three hours for Kevin and Jay to answer questions from the audience. Although the first fanboy spend nearly two minutes doing his hero worship. "Get to the question dude"!

    Snooches!

by ChrisF on 11/18/19Hard Rock Live Orlando - Orlando

A great time. It's a rare experience to watch a film with the director and get his commentary live and hear the stories of making the film. Orlando should be considered Kevin Smith's second home, as the crowd was full, rowdy, ready to party.

The movie is definitely a good show for fans of the view askewniverse. It was awesome getting to watch the movie with Kevin and Jay as well as their q&a after the show ended. I also was able to get my picture taken with them and meet them after the show. They are both great people and you can tell that they love their fans. Definitely worth it to go!

    Great show!

by G. on 10/30/19The Pageant - St Louis

It was amazing to see these guys and their movie for my boyfriends birthday! It was a blast all around the only thing that prohibits me giving it a 5 star I don’t think they should’ve sold the seats way to the side you had to watch the movie from the side. But overall it was a great experience!

Great evening, entertaining, informative, a worthwhile exper

by Shatterstorm on 10/30/19The Pageant - St Louis

The event was great. Seeing the two lead actors, hearing their stories, and watching the movie with them is a different experience and one that more hollywood types should embrace. The Q&A after the movie was really good. Kevin Smith and Jason Mewes were very candid in their responses and told great stories. The sight lines were a little off, with this being a venue that was designed for concerts over movies, so if you have a chance to go to a future show, try to get seats with a center view of the screen.

    Great night!

by Kellie on 10/30/19The Pageant - St Louis

The show was a ton of fun. My only complaint would be the screen wasn’t quite big enough for the venue and the seats weren’t big enough for some of the guests.

Kevin Smith Q & A with showing of “Red State”

    by Scott King on 10/7/19

This of course was quite a few years ago, very different movie from his comedies (which are for people with ACTUAL senses of Humor “Heiser-whatever your name is”) Kevin is always extremely verbose, funny, and overly sweet to his fans. I remember him actually going into the audience, and giving a very nervous fan a hug. The Clerks movies are crude, but poignant, I’m looking forward to Clerks 3. The Jay & Silent Bob focused movie was EXTREMELY Crude and stupid, but had some really great ridiculous moments in it, I hope I can go to the show in St. Louis. Because, my movie theater is not playing the Fathom Events showing. If you’ve Never been a fan of Kevin Smith and/or know absolutely Nothing about his flicks And are going in blind...Do Not Go! You’re asking to be disappointed, and have no right to to write a review of his shows. So, Stick that review in your Snootchy Bootches. (That may be misspelled, my apologies)

Jay and Silent Bob should stay silent!

by Heiser67 on 6/26/17Tulalip Resort Casino - Tulalip

This show was TERRIBLE! It wasn't even funny, just awkward and stupid! I understand they are characters from a movie, but the jokes were crude and not even funny! I would not recommend spending money on a ticket for this show.
