About

Television personality, author, Food Network and Netflix star Alton Brown will be heading out on his Alton Brown Live: Beyond The Eats - The Holiday Variant tour this holiday season.  He is the host of Top 10 new Netflix Iron Chef reboot "Iron Chef: Quest for an Iron Legend."  Brown says fans can expect "more cooking, more comedy, more music, and more potentially dangerous science stuff with a sprinkle of seasonal spices. Plus, you'll see things I've never been allowed to do on TV." Critics and fans have raved about the interactive components of Brown's shows. He warns, "Prepare for an evening unlike any other and if I call for volunteers...think twice."

Alton is always a great experience

by Mike on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Alton Brown’s stage shows are really a direct connection back to his Good Eats TV show, but in real life. Great stories, fun riffs, insane props and a genuine good time where if you’re not careful, you might learn how to cook, too!

Good show but same as last winter

by Mindy on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

I got tickets for my family who saw him in Feb and raved. I was sorry it was so similar with only slight variations for the holidays. For me, it was new and fine. For the others, repetitive.

    Fun for all!

by Multitasker on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

This is Alton's "Holiday" version of his "Beyond the Eats" tour. If you saw the regular version, there is not much different about the holiday version except some of the music, and there is no pre-test to get on stage for the participation part. He just puts the house lights up and chooses people from the audience. So if you saw this tour already, you won't be seeing much new. BUT. It is a hilarious show and worth it just to laugh at the stories, games and 2nd act (if you know, you know) again.

    Lousy and waste of money

by Anth0531 on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

So I was expecting the Holiday variant to be some what different from the regular show, I was mistaken. Basically, the term variant basically meant they put a Xmas tree on the stage and the slide show now had a holiday theme, meaning they added a Santa’s hat to the card. It was a waste of money to be honest.

    Great Fun!

by ejk133 on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

We saw Beyond the Eats back in October 2021 at the Beacon Theatre and had a great time but the Holiday Variant was even more fun. Alton and Elizabeth were great and the volunteers from the audience helped make the show.

    Alton Brown is amazing

by Djharkavy on 11/30/22New Jersey Performing Arts Center - Newark

Excellent show! Alton was friendly in the q and a fire VIPs before the show. During the show, he did some wonderful stories about "his greatest regrets" and a good based game show, including some improv reactions to the contestants. His second half involved cooking 15 pounds of chicken wings and showing us how sugar affects the heat of capsaicin. Alton was amazing, and I'll go see him again when he tours again

    Alton is always entertaining

by Gretchyn on 11/29/22The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

I really enjoyed Alton's holiday show! I saw his show in January 2022, and I was a bit disappointed that his holiday show was very similar to the previous one. It was billed as different, and there were small differences, but I was hoping for more. Still enjoyed it, still happy to have seen it, and would see him again.

    Exceeded expectations

by Daria on 11/29/22The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

To say the event exceeded my expectations is really saying something because I went in knowing it would be a great show. Alton was engaging and funny. His stories were relatable and hilarious! And he sneaks in a little appreciated culinary education too. It was nice to see him and Elizabeth together in person. (Can't wait for more QQs!!) Holiday from Heck sauce is fantastic. Sure missed Scabigail and Guillermo, though!

Funny and entertaining show but felt short

by H on 11/29/22The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

My husband and I both agreed that this show felt short. In reality it was right around 2.25 hours including intermission. Alton played one song at the beginning to open the show and another to close it. The rest of the show consisted of (fairly long winded) stories, a game show type audience participation bit, and a "cooking" demonstration. During the bits where participants were involved, Alton was a bit mean to the participants in an effort for laughs. I know this is somewhat on brand but it seemed a bit more than good hearted ribbing. I attended previous Alton Brown touring shows and this one seemed to lack a bit of the sparkle of the others. It was still entertaining but fell a bit short of expectations.

    Lots of laughs & learning

by Margie A on 11/29/22The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

Alton Brown has been one of my favorites for quite sometime. I learned so much from him growing up and was so excited to see he is the exact same person in real life. He was funny, educational, sassy and we had a great time! Loved all the anecdotes from his youth! The games were fun as was the audience participation. Loved that he autographed the VIP laminated and books that were available for sale. Great merchandise was a plus! Thanks for a great night out!

    Alton is Amazing

by MB on 11/29/22The Wind Creek Event Center - Bethlehem

I really enjoyed getting to interact with Alton Brown during the Q&A. I do think the venue should have been more clear regarding the time the Q&A would start.

My 19 year old son and I couldn’t stop laughing

by Heidi on 11/28/22E.J. Thomas Hall - The University of Akron - Akron

WE will definitely get tickets to see Alton again and invite others to join us. The show has a little of everything and kept us beaming the entire time. My only regret is that we never saw the March table or was even offered a program. Perhaps they could have booths at both entrances of EJ Thomas.
