About

AJR IN CONCERT:

New York-based brother band AJR is generating significant buzz with their unique blend of barbershop harmonies, dubstep beats, and internet-savvy lyrical references. The trio's success with debut single "I'm Ready" has inevitably drawn comparisons to fellow brother outfit Hanson, but AJR's eclectic sound and DIY approach put them in a category all their own. From bright handclaps and playful samples to energetic ukulele and guitar strumming, AJR have crafted an endlessly creative sound that always leaves fans wanting more on their unforgettable tours.

BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:

AJR is comprised of brothers Adam, Jack, and Ryan Met. The native New Yorkers got their start as street performers, playing covers of songs by the Beach Boys and Vampire Weekend in parks around Manhattan. The brothers released their  debut single "I'm Ready" in 2013, tweeting it out to a number of celebrities in the hopes of getting discovered. The tactic worked -- the song caught the eye of SIA, who helped AJR secure a management deal. As the group's reputation continued to grow, they made their first TV appearances with performances on Good Day New York and VH1's Big Morning Buzz show. In late 2013 AJR released the I'm Ready EP, a solid debut that earned them opening slots on tour with big-name acts like Demi Lovato and the Wanted. A rising young act with talent to the gills, AJR have ticket buyers eagerly awaiting their upcoming tour dates.

    Awesome Experience!

by DC on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

I became a fan of AJR during the show. My wife was a casual listener and wanted to see the show, I had only heard a few songs in passing. Their show was a theatrical audio visual experience with some really fun crowd interaction. It was a stage show with misdirection and visual effects that would have been better if I had a seat that was straight from the stage because they employed a curved screen for some of their projections. But it was still an awesome show being on the side of the arena. For stage production quality *only*, as far as shows I’ve been to, it reminds me of some kind of oddball cross pollination of Pink Floyd & the Blue Man Group. Not the music, but the staging of the show. I had no preconceptions about their music because I’d barely heard any before the show and didn’t know what to expect. I had thought it would just be the band playing some music. Nope. It’s a production. A production full of joy and energy and emotion. Coincidentally, Ryan Met from AJR even said they wrote all 12 verses of the Maybe Man song the last time they toured in Oklahoma City when they visited the Myriad Botanic Gardens in OKC about a half mile from where we saw them play at the Paycom Center. Pretty cool and gave me an extra connection. Well worth seeing in concert. I’ll be seeing their next tour for sure.

    Absolutely wonderful!

by Chalyn on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

The show was awesome! We were on the floor, front and center. Amazing performance, excellent set and sound. We got the VIP experience and had the pleasure of meeting the band, got to get in earlier and shopped merch earlier. My only complaint, is everything that was included in the experience was spread out, going up stairs, down stairs, around to almost the other side of the arena, it was just a lot of back and forth that maybe was unnecessary. Otherwise, the facility was clean, well equipped and provided to be an awesome experience! AJR is definitely repeat worthy!!!

A night of Music, Magic and Mayhem!

by CindyB on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

These guys always wanted to be magicians and it shows! This was SO MUCH MORE than a concert - it was an immersive Magical Musical Moment and the most memorable night of my life. The animations, creative genius, and pure musical talent of these 3 brothers is far beyond just a concert. It’s a full immersion into the wonderful minds of Adam, Jack, and Ryan! ♥️

    AJR

One of the best concerts I’ve ever been to. Plus what made it even better, Paycom upgraded our seats with no extra charge.

    Amazing show

by Skye on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

We loved the show. This was our first time seeing AJR live and we are already looking forward to seeing them again. Our only complaint was it took almost 45 minutes for them to come out after the warm up band. There was no information from the venue or artists as to the gap. Thankfully the amazing performance made the wait well worth it!!

    Disappointed

by Meg on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

I was excited for the concert because the seats I had purchased were going to be a great view. Unfortunately when we arrived, the camera crew and sound equipment was completely blocking our view of the stage and we could not see ANYTHING. It was not made aware when purchasing the tickets that the view was going to be totally obstructed, or else I would not have selected those seats to purchase. I was in section 101 and other people in my section, as well as section 120, were just as disappointed. No where was it indicated on the ticket that the view was obstructed. Thankfully the box office was able to relocate us to seats where we could actually see the concert we paid to attend. Going forward I hope Ticketmaster can do better with labeling tickets with obstructed views prior to purchasing.

    Wow!

by Steph on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

Personally was not a fan of AJR, I just went because i took my daughter, who loves them. I was blown away! They don't just play their songs with fancy lighting and screens behind them, like all the bands I've seen lately, they put on a show. That was the most entertaining concert I have ever attended. Would definitely see them again.

I’ve been to quite a few concerts and this was hands down the best one. AJR put on such a great show. I was sad when it ended. I will never miss them when they perform near me again.

by Keline on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

AJR was so much fun, and my kids loved it!! The guys performed from the nosebleeds, they danced, and put on a great show in general - I was definitely impressed! It wasn’t a super multi-million dollar overproduced shows and I loved that about it!

AJR (Maybe Man Tour) OKC Paycom Center (05/04/24)

by ADAMJPIE on 5/7/24Paycom Center - Oklahoma City

This was one of the best live performances I've ever seen. I purchased tickets for my wife and I (AJR is her favorite band) and I enjoy their music enough that I figured I'd have a good time. The amount of preparation and work these guys must go through to accomplish what they did is incredible. The only bad thing I have to say, is that as good bands grow, and they get into larger venues, ticket prices rise, merch prices rise, and you can absolutely forget about having a $5 beer while watching your favorite band. I was not a fan of anything about the venue other than even in the "cheap seats"we were able to have a fairly great view, and hear everything just fine. For being in such large Venue, Jack and his brothers did an amazing job of working & interacting with the crowd. The people are great performers, and they put on a heck of a show. Wife was absolutely floored. I just hope we will be able to afford to see them again if and when they come around again. 10/10
