About

Tig (affectionately named by her brother as a child) was born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised by her single mother. While serving time in a Texas high school, Tig failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than entertaining the notion of a successful academic career. After dropping out of school, and a brief stint in the music industry while in Denver, she decided to lodge herself firmly into the always fun and always easy world of comedy. Most recently, Tig booked a supporting role in the feature THE RUNAWAYS opposite Kristen Stewart, which is out in theatres now. This will be her third season recurring as "Officer Tig" on THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM on Comedy Central and was a series regular on ABC'S IN THE MOTHERHOOD opposite Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines. In previous years, she has had her own half-hour comedy special, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS TIG and recurred on Comedy Central's critically acclaimed show DOG BITES MAN. She has also performed on ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, NBC's LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY and performed on SHOWTIME's new comedy series LIVE NUDE COMEDY which aired on Showtime last summer. Tig performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, The UCB Theater and at Largo in her monthly show, "Tig Notaro and Friends"...and of course, headlining clubs, colleges, theaters and living rooms across the universe.

by Beth on 2/23/22The Charleston Music Hall - Charleston

Quite simply, Tig appeared to enjoy what she was doing and seemed to appreciate her audience. This was truly a lovely evening. She was very funny and made me laugh. I liked that very much. Thanks Tig.

Tig Is Even Funnier Than You'd Expect!

by KB on 2/7/22Moore Theatre - Seattle

I have not laughed that hard in a long time. I'm talking, so-hard-that-my-stomach-was-sore... the next day. She was timely, relevant and so accessible. Just loved it.

    Awesome show!

by Guernseygirl on 2/7/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Amazing show. Tig was hilarious. Venue was great. Good sound quality. Everyone was wearing their masks, and staff were on hand with spares if anyone needed them. They were definitely needed as everyone was laughing loudly a lot!

    just ok

by ap on 2/7/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I hadn't been to an event in 2 years, so my experience was certainly colored by that and the person sitting next to me who didn't wear a mask the whole show. I adore Tig, especially her podcast True Story. But I did't love this show. The ticket purchased through Ticketmaster was almost $200. So especially for that much money it really wasn't worth it.

    Great Show!!

by Michael R on 2/7/22Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Tig killed! Funny stories that we can’t stop retelling in the days after seeing her perform. I hope this show is filmed and we can see it again! She finished on the piano, we never knew she could play. It was amazing!

    Great show!

by The ruiner on 2/5/22Moore Theatre - Seattle

She's got the Norm Macdonald gift of being able to tell a 2 min story for 20 mins and keep it funny the entire time.

    Disappointed

    by 18E on 1/31/22Warner Theatre - Washington

Warner theater show on the 28th. Unfortunately she just wasn’t that funny and used material from a show I saw in 2019. Specifically the piano bit.

    Tig delivers again

by Amber on 1/31/22Warner Theatre - Washington

Obviously comedy is completely subjective, but to me, Tig is one the absolute best comedians out there. She has me cry-laughing within minutes. She doesn’t have to resort to offensive/racist/sexist/denigrating jokes to get a laugh from people. She find comedy in the mundane and tragedy of life. I would see her 5 times a year if I could

    funniest comedian since Carlin/Pryor

by LD on 1/30/22Carolina Theatre - Durham

I love Tig Notaro. She's just naturally funny. Practically the first thing that happened was that some kind of "snow" started falling from the ceiling and she immediately riffed on that. No one is safe from Tig's sarcasm--especially not herself. Tales from her dating life, work life, married life, and health issues are all equally prime targets for her review. She made it clear that she's still funny after the cancer, after the double-mastectomy, and during Covid. Just an all-around hilarious, enjoyable show.
