About

Tig (affectionately named by her brother as a child) was born in Jackson, Mississippi and raised by her single mother. While serving time in a Texas high school, Tig failed three grades by entertaining classmates rather than entertaining the notion of a successful academic career. After dropping out of school, and a brief stint in the music industry while in Denver, she decided to lodge herself firmly into the always fun and always easy world of comedy. Most recently, Tig booked a supporting role in the feature THE RUNAWAYS opposite Kristen Stewart, which is out in theatres now. This will be her third season recurring as "Officer Tig" on THE SARAH SILVERMAN PROGRAM on Comedy Central and was a series regular on ABC'S IN THE MOTHERHOOD opposite Megan Mullally and Cheryl Hines. In previous years, she has had her own half-hour comedy special, COMEDY CENTRAL PRESENTS TIG and recurred on Comedy Central's critically acclaimed show DOG BITES MAN. She has also performed on ABC'S JIMMY KIMMEL LIVE, NBC's LAST CALL WITH CARSON DALY and performed on SHOWTIME's new comedy series LIVE NUDE COMEDY which aired on Showtime last summer. Tig performs regularly at the Hollywood Improv, The UCB Theater and at Largo in her monthly show, "Tig Notaro and Friends"...and of course, headlining clubs, colleges, theaters and living rooms across the universe.

    Tig was A+++ Venue issues

by Mel on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

We understand line slow downs due to restrictions, but we were at a stand still outside of the venue. We showed up early and yet missed the beginning of the show.

I laughed, I cried, it was better than Cats

by MatthewT212 on 3/23/22Beacon Theatre - New York

I think the title says it all. Tig is beyond hilarious. Not sure where exactly it puts here but I think that is a good reason why you need to go see her.

    amazing

    by H. L. on 3/22/22Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

I love Tig, she's one of my favorite humans on the planet. Her comedy is beautiful. She's not critical of others, she's not political. She's simply an amazing storyteller.

    Great Performance, Tightly Packed Seats

by Sunny on 3/20/22Orpheum Theater - Madison

Tig did a phenomenal job. She can pull so many emotional strings in an audience and feel like your close friend in a room packed with people. It’s clear she has fun and passes it along right to you too. Only drawback for the show was the sheer number of times folks had to leave their seats to pee and caused their entire row to rise multiple times and file out of the row due to how tight the rows are together. Purely reflects on the venue, nothing on Tig. Overall a great time though

    Awesome and Hilarious

by DJR on 3/20/22Pantages Theatre - Minneapolis

Tig was amazing, she is so hilarious and relatable. I haven't laughed this hard in maybe a year! Thank you for the brilliant comedy. And also loved that she kept it "clean" meaning no cheap laughs sought through swearing, etc. Just purely funny!

    Excellent show, nice venue

    by MadtownGirl22 on 3/20/22Orpheum Theater - Madison

This was an enjoyable show from start to finish! I was not familiar with Tig's work before but I loved her style of comedy; it's classic and classy. I was laughing the whole way through! I also really appreciated that the venue required proof of vaccination and required masks, so I could feel safe and responsible in attending the show.

Notaro takes the time to get it right

by Boots on 3/20/22Orpheum Theater - Madison

We were thrilled to be in the full house, and delighted with Tig Notaro's Hello Again delivery. She milked the humor from her personal experiences, viewed each vignette from different perspectives, slowly and effectively.

    First half was hilarious.

by SG on 3/19/22Orpheum Theater - Madison

Love Tig. Was really looking forward to the show. The first half was hilarious. Tears from laughing so hard. The first half was so great, it made the second half that much more disappointing. Spending 30+ minutes plunking at piano keys while the audience shouted & "sang" was not funny. At all. Felt like an excruciating waste of time.

    50% disappointed

by Disenchanted on 3/18/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The first half of the show was side-splittingly funny. It was an unvarnished insight into aspects of her life. The second half was her sitting at an electronic keyboard, and from the start she told the audience she doesn't know how to play a piano. So, this was a feeble attempt at audience participation as she slapped aimlessly on the keys. It went on, and on, and on. We should have paid attention to our inclination to leave, and just have the memory of the brilliant first half.

Tig makes my sides hurt from laughing so hard.

by Christys on 3/18/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

The Ticketmaster experience is another story. Per usual using their app was a nightmare. I had tickets saved to my wallet that wouldn’t scan. The app wouldn’t reopen without 20 login attempts. Ultimately I had to go to will call and have my tickets looked up and printed.

    The funniest experiment in awkward!

by ER on 3/18/22The Chicago Theatre - Chicago

Tig can make the awkward hilarious like no one else. The show was pure joy, utter ridiculousness, and a master class in comedy (as always).
