Pennsylvanian rockers Dr. Dog represent a blast from the past. Their music has often been compared to acts from long ago, including The Beatles and The Beach Boys, to name a couple. The retro sound of Dr. Dog has resulted in several memorable records in their nearly 15 years of existence, yet like any great band, sometimes their recorded material pales in comparison to their live act. Tickets to see Dr. Dog sell fast since the indie group usually prefers to tour the small club circuit. They have also played major festivals, like Coachella and Treasure Island, too. Dr. Dog skips the theatrics and simply sticks to good music playing live. They're a band that is highly skilled, and they even cut a live album at Google's headquarters in California. They have always jammed with famous psychedelic bands, like My Morning Jacket, in concert. Always a group to present new material, the band released their seventh studio album, called "B-Room," in 2013. The record features "The Truth" and "Broken Heart" and was the first album composed at their new studio in Philadelphia.
Dr. Dog was formed by childhood friends, Scott McMicken and Toby Leaman, as the duo preferred to experiment with lo-fi recordings, including original psychedelic material recorded on eight tracks and other vintage devices. Their first album, "The Psychedelic Swamp," was self-recorded and released in 2001. Dr. Dog became popular along the Philadelphia circuit, yet gained little notoriety outside of it. However, the group continued to write and compose the way they wanted to. This would later lead to a large cult following drawn to their complete DIY approach and indie-mentality, thanks to their tireless promotion on the Internet. "We All Belong," "Fate" and "Shame, Shame" are all classic Dr. Dog studio releases, though the band has also released its fair share of EPs and vinyl.

Sounds exactly like they do on recordings! Such a fun concert and good vibes all around
the ambiance of the room was so beautiful. everyone that was there was supposed to be there. we missed being at the tabernacle and were super glad to be back :)
When the set opened with Shadow People….. the energy was set & never stopped 😪😮💨 the boys looked so happy! So happy this was moved to the tabernacle - plenty of space
i was able to upgrade to VIP in a matter of seconds and had the best time ever. the people in GA seemed like they were having an equally good time. the bar and venue was amazing! the energy was just great.
Staff was friendly directing me around the venue and felt like everything ran smoothly. SHOW WAS AMAZING. Great views of the city here. Would come to another show here.
Shakey Graves was fantastic and Dr. Dog delivered as per usual. Great crowd, great staff, great show. Had an absolute blast!
Set lists were great. Would have liked to see Shakey play with dr dog. Sound was a little over blown for the louder songs, I was in then mezzanine so that might have been a factor.
I've been waiting almost ten years to see these guys and they did not disappoint. Such a great show, Shakey graves was also incredible as one of the openers. One complaint, vocals were a bit on the quiet side, could've been adjusted a bit better but was still fantastic
Amazing venue. Such nice help. We even got a pass to VIP section to check it out. Will definitely be back soon! Great job, Met!! Shakey Graves & Dr. Dog forever!!!!!!
The venue was fantastic. Open air with a fantastic view. The place was clean and comfortable. Shakey was a great showman and they were clearly passionate about preforming. Dr. Dog was clearly a group of dudes who were proud of their music. I was a big fan of the sweater vest. I missed Liz Cooper but I caught part of one of her songs and they sounded pretty rad. Overall great concert.
Both Dr. Dog and Shakey Graves were incredible, as expected. Such a great combination of talents for one night. The venue was also fantastic. Besides the view being great, the sound was fantastic, it was easy to get in and out, there were large bathrooms that were clean and had water fountains, and there were several bars that were well-staffed.
The Dr. Dog show in Covington this year was about my 20th time seeing them live. They are a force to be witnessed live. They are the hardest working band I have ever followed, and so humble to boot. The Critical Equation tour this year was amazing. They have truly been on fire this year and, in my opinion, have been performing better than ever. Catch them next time they are in your town! Seriously!
It was such a great show! They were so fun. Had a great time.
I really liked the show, it was very good. I got nice seats near the front and the venue was very intimate. Both the opener and Dr. Dog were really fun bands. Frank is an absolute legend. Five Stars.
This concert was everything I had hoped it would be. If you're considering going to see Dr. Dog, DO IT. So much fun and such amazing musicians!
Loved loved loved this show. I saw Dr. Dog for the first time in '05, and have seen them 5 times since (time flies!). They've only gotten better with age. What a great group. Love them!
Dr Dog is a fantastic band that puts on a non-stop amazing show!
Wonderful energy. They played so many songs. Their harmony is rare these days.
My expectations were blown away. These guys are incredible. They said for this tour they just took the top 28 songs from spotify and practiced them to play on tour. Every single song they played was incredible. If you are on the fence about going, DO IT! You will not regret seeing this tour or Dr. Dog.
