ARMIN VAN BUUREN IN CONCERT:
EDM fans have spoken, and veteran Dutch DJ Armin Van Buuren is their king. As one of the most popular trance DJs in the world, Van Buuren has topped DJ Magazine's fan poll a record five times, virtually dominating dance music with his unprecedented run at the top of the list from 2007-2010. Following the 2013 release of his fifth album Intense, Van Buuren is once again entrancing fans around the world with his prismatic live shows on the 2014 Armen Only: Intense tour.
BACKGROUND SNAPSHOT:
Born in Leiden, Netherlands, Armin Van Buuren began DJing while at university, eventually putting his law degree on hold to pursue music full time. He made his first UK chart appearance at just 19 with "Blue Fear," climbing the charts again several years later with "Communication." By 2001, Van Buuren's marathon sets had earned him a spot on DJ Magazine's Top-100 list, setting the stage for the launch of his hugely popular State of Trance radio show. While his skills as a producer were highlighted on his 2003 full-length debut 76, it was 2008's Imagine that really broke the mold — the album peaked at No. 1 in the Netherlands, a first for a dance music artist in Dutch music history.
FANS WHO BOUGHT TICKETS SAY:
"The show was incredible! For any trance fan, Armin's Intense tour is a must see."
"Armin Van Buuren was amazing! The light and laser show was fantastic!"
"Was incredible... Maybe the best concert I've ever been to... Now I really know why he's been ranked the #1 DJ in the world for the past 4 out of 5 years."
Best concert ,experience ever. No words can truly describe how awesome this event truly was. AMAZING is a start
The setlist was well-arranged. The drops were on point! HE IS THE LEGEND!
Absolutely AMAZING ARMIN NEVER DISAPPOINTS! He is the ultimate trance DJ that keeps you ravin and ragin the whole time no matter where you get the privilege to see him!
I've seen MANY artists perform at talking stick release pool parties and Armin van Buuren was BY FAR the best show I've ever seen. Not only was his energy amazing but the audience's energy matched his as well. The vibes were awesome, the place was packed, and every one was dancing and having the greatest time!! I love you Armin!!
There was a perfect amount of people there. Everyone seemed to be having a great time. Nice mix of younger and older people too. Seems like more than half the people there were die hard Armin fans, which was great. He smiled the whole time, even though it was a pretty small crowd compared to what he's probably use to. I didn't hear any of his music that I recognized, but I was ok with that. Everyone was dancing there butts off!
Saw Armin last time he came to Philly which was 3 years ago, pumped that I got see him again. Really wish he would do an ASOT show here.
Waited 2 hours for our favorite dj so we could be up front, and could not see anything
Really sick concert. Super long set. Lots of bangers. No encore though. Atmosphere was pretty crazy. No one was having a bad time.
The event was great ! Not too crowded not to crazy it was perfect he is one of the best hands down the only disappointment was that the event was 16 to enter that's ridiculous in my option this type of events should be at least 18 or even 21 and up
I am not the biggest fan of Armin Van Buuren or I wasn't until this event. He truly brought his A game! His set at Ultra 2015 was snooze worthy. Tonight, the training wheels fell off! He really won me over and gave my husband and I an amazing, memorable night!
Armin is 10/10. The whole set rocked and the crowd was great as well. When I found out Kygo was opening I realized just how good the night would be, and it was even better than I thought it could be.
Such a great time. The weather was perfect, and the venue was perfect for a "beach party feel", but in the city of Philadelphia.
He is an exceptional DJ. Truly there for the love of music and true to his roots. Venue is awesome. The only reason I did not give 5 stars is that this venue discontinues alcohol sales at around 9:45pm.
Armin was fantastic but the set was really short, about 1:45, compared to his usual 4+ hours sets
The name of the venue - Festival Pier at Penn's Landing - was a bit misleading. This event was not at Penn's Landing. Festival Pier is basically a big, outdoor night club. The only available restrooms were port-o-pots. The crowd was almost exclusively early 20's. This may be why Armin chose to play mostly house music, as opposed to the trance music that made him famous. Lastly, the show started much too late. It was supposed to start at 7:00. But the opening act, Kygo, didn't even come on until around 7:45. Very late for a week night.
It was fantastic, the atmosphere was great. Echostage did an awesome job with hosting Armin Van Buuren. The sound was flawless, my hair was moving around from the bass, I loved it. The light and screen show was superb. I was not expecting the main show to start at 12:00am!! It was advertised as 9:00pm, that was the only disappointment but it was my first time and I noticed everyone showed up at 11:30pm.
3rd time I've seen Armin and he always delivers. With a hectic schedule I'm not sure how but He is always very into it himself as well.
pretty good. Hell amount of people. Overall pretty good the part when the lights came on was epic.
Armin Van Buuren lights and sounds in Trance music elevated a packed EchoStage last Saturday to new levels of entertainment. Full of excitement, Armin entered the stage and greeted his fans surrounded by lights that were programmed to move in coordination with his arms' movements. The crowd responded in complete approval of his selection of tunes by jumping and shouting to the beats. I fully enjoyed seeing him in action creating an entertaining mix of sights and sounds surrounded by his fans and security staff. The venue is perfect for this type of events and they were prepared to handle the crowds supported by a sizeable contingent of DC finest police.
But I cannot expect Less from Armin, he is always the Best show around
