Arizona State Sun Devils Women’s Basketball History
The Arizona State University Sun Devils women’s baseball team launched in 1975. At the inaugural NCAA Division I Women’s basketball tournament, the Sun Devils reached the Sweet Sixteen and then repeated the feat the following year in 1983. Longtime coach Charli Turner Thorne led the team from 1996 to 2022 and oversaw two Elite Eight runs in 2007 and 2009, as well as the Sun Devils’ sole conference tournament championship in 2002. Thorne retired and was replaced by Natasha Adair ahead of the 2022–23 season.

Arizona State Sun Devils at Desert Financial Arena
Desert Financial Arena opened in Tempe, Arizona as the ASU Activity Center in 1974. It was known as the Wells Fargo Arena from 1997 to 2019, and has a capacity of 14,198.
