Ari Lennox on Tour
Neo-soul singer Ari Lennox's sound and persona on the stage are simultaneously elegant and organic, both dreamy and down-to-earth. Some know her best by her 2019 hit "Shea Butter Baby," on which she paired up with her producer, R&B/hip-hop hero J. Cole, but whatever tune she lends her lungs to, Lennox breathes deep, soulful life into every single line. Her unique sound refuses to stand still long enough to be bolted into any one category; in her shows, old-school and contemporary R&B, jazz, pop and hip-hop all blend together into an amalgam unique to Lennox herself. When she communicates with the crowd in between songs, she isn't shy about speaking her mind and letting them know where her songs really come from — in the end, Lennox is all about keeping things real in every aspect of her performance.
Ari Lennox in Concert
In 2012, Washington, D.C.'s Ari Lennox began to make herself heard with a vibrant, idiosyncratic brand of R&B that combined roots-conscious, naturalistic neo-soul with a supple jazziness, undeniable pop instincts and an utterly of-the-moment quality that helped her music speak to the present moment. Like many fledgling artists of the 2010s, she started out releasing her music online herself, but by 2015 Lennox had a deal with Dreamville Records (the label owned by R&B and hip-hop star J. Cole). The first fruits of this partnership arrived in 2016 with the release of the Pho EP, with Cole acting as executive producer. After a long period of intense work, Lennox finally released her first full album, Shea Butter Baby, in 2019. The record made it to the Top 10 in the R&B charts, and later that same year, Lennox was mounting her first tour as a headliner.
Ari’s performance was beautiful. It’s always a pleasure to watch her.
This show was a hot mess. They had this random Dj playing EDM music at an R&b/soul concert for the first half of the show. 1.5 hours of terrible music. No opener or anything. No one in the crowd was feeling it. Then Ari comes out and sings for an hour. And the shows over. Definitely not worth my money it felt like Ari didn't even wanna be there.
Ari was a vibe and shout out to her background vocalists — they all were sanging. I was disappointed by the opening DJ set, though.
The Fox Theater is a nice venue. The staff were very pleasant. We had seats in the loge section. There was an elevator to the upper levels, which was helpful. There are restrooms on both levels. The concert. Ari was 1 hour and 20 mins late to hit the stage. She made up for it by singing most of the songs from her newest album. Her voice was spectacular. The back up singers were great. Though this was a rescheduled show, I'm glad that I went.
The show was absolutely fantastic. She sang her heart out and did a full catalogue performance
I had seats in the mezzanine and could barely see as there wasn’t a screen but the concert was amazing!!!! And I have tickets to her 2nd show at the same location
Purchased balcony seat for $300 but unable to attend concert as was unable to stand in long line outside in cold and rain!!
First of all, ALL three ladies were so bomb!!! Beautiful voices, bomb ass stage presence. This was such a good show!!
Amazing show. The energy was incredible and Ari has a really nice soul in person.
Ari Lennox show was hot. She was gorgeous and her vocals were on point, I can’t wait to see her again.
I haven’t missed one of her shows & I don’t plan to!
The show was amazing but the venue seem to be over capacity. There was nowhere to move around.
From the Meet n greet to the show everything was such a vibe. I’ll be reliving this night for a very long time. The best way to start my birthday week off and to celebrate Ari on her bday was everything!!!!
Walking into this concert was one of the best things I’ve done in a while since COVID. From the openers all the way to the headliner everything was perfect. Down from the little details all the way when Ari came out in the white fur coat it was perfect. I was left speechless in shock and awe from what I just witnessed.
her performance was everything i thought it would be. but the venue was by far the worst venue i’ve ever attended . once i entered the venue i stood right there next to the exit the entire time . not by choice . i literally could not move anywhere . the amount of people that where able to buy a ticket was crazy . but even thought i was extremely uncomfortable ari was amazing . her energy , voice , dance moves , jokes , everything was what i imagined. will def see her again in the future just not a the fillmore i’m silver spring md , because they def lived up to there name couldn’t fill any more space .
The entire experience was unforgettable! Despite the line wrapping around the building, my friend and I got into the building pretty quickly. The bartenders were friendly and the drinks were made perfectly. The performances were GREAT- ESPECIALLY THEE SHEA BUTTER BABY HERSELF! Ari came out in her never-disappointing fashion and SHOWED OUT! She played music from her EPs, debut and sophomore albums and when I say the mic was ON, I am NOT exaggerating! Her backup singers and band sang and played well above expectations! Although it was GA and we stood for the entire show, I honestly can’t complain.
Loved it !!!!! Amazing show. Lovely vocals best show ever
Beautiful set, great openers, wonderful crowd control, AND HER MIC WAS ON THE ENTIRE TIME
Ari is one of my fave artist. Her vibe, swag, voice, sense of humor… it’s amazing. The fact that her voice sounds and projects just like an album is truly shocking. She could’ve easily sold out the Capital One Arena instead of having multiple shows in different locations. The whole night was a good time. It was my first and most certainly wont be my last time seeing my girl!!
This is was the beautiful concert I’ve been to ever! I love Ari! Her vocals are unmatched. Definitely go and experience her live!
