Ari Lennox on Tour
Neo-soul singer Ari Lennox's sound and persona on the stage are simultaneously elegant and organic, both dreamy and down-to-earth. Some know her best by her 2019 hit "Shea Butter Baby," on which she paired up with her producer, R&B/hip-hop hero J. Cole, but whatever tune she lends her lungs to, Lennox breathes deep, soulful life into every single line. Her unique sound refuses to stand still long enough to be bolted into any one category; in her shows, old-school and contemporary R&B, jazz, pop and hip-hop all blend together into an amalgam unique to Lennox herself. When she communicates with the crowd in between songs, she isn't shy about speaking her mind and letting them know where her songs really come from — in the end, Lennox is all about keeping things real in every aspect of her performance.

In 2012, Washington, D.C.'s Ari Lennox began to make herself heard with a vibrant, idiosyncratic brand of R&B that combined roots-conscious, naturalistic neo-soul with a supple jazziness, undeniable pop instincts and an utterly of-the-moment quality that helped her music speak to the present moment. Like many fledgling artists of the 2010s, she started out releasing her music online herself, but by 2015 Lennox had a deal with Dreamville Records (the label owned by R&B and hip-hop star J. Cole). The first fruits of this partnership arrived in 2016 with the release of the Pho EP, with Cole acting as executive producer. After a long period of intense work, Lennox finally released her first full album, Shea Butter Baby, in 2019. The record made it to the Top 10 in the R&B charts, and later that same year, Lennox was mounting her first tour as a headliner.
Ari Lennox gave one of the best performances I have ever seen. She was genuine, funny and very interactive with the crowd. I would pay several more times to see her perform and I can't wait to see her again.
One of the best concerts I’ve attended. The show featured great opening acts. Ari’s performance was amazing! Her stage presence was awesome and her live vocals were impeccable!
From start to finish the Shea Butter Baby tour gave me life. Everyone from the openers to Ari gave an amazing performance.
Loved the performance, and I think Ari sounds even better love. She had such an adorable stage presence! Also when I met her she was such a warm spirit, not rushing us although time was limited, but I got to have a few words with her and appreciated that. The onllllly thing I would have preferred is if the opening acts weren’t so long. I know the necessity to share the time, but maybe that can be shortened just a tad. Love you Ari!
Seeing Ari at St. Andrews was a great experience! I attend quite a few concerts yearly and this by far was one of the best this year. Ari had great stage presence and made the sold out concert enjoyable by all.
I usually have a pretty good experience whenever I come to a concert at HOB. This time was no different. My best friend and I came to see Ari Lennox. Everyone from the restaurant host to our waitress including her manager (sorry I don’t remember names :( ) made us feel welcomed. I do remember Darcy though so was also amazing. Thank you all again! I’ll be back for sure!
Everything about this event was perfect! Ari Lennox played a perfect set! She sounded amazing live and the interaction with the crowd was great! Dope energy and vibes!
Ari's stage presence was felt baby! This young lady put on a show! I see exactly why it had to be moved to 3 different venues to accommodate more people and was still sold out. She kept the crowds attention @ all times, and sang each song with so much emotion you couldn't help but love it.
She was fabulous and engaging. She is a true vocalist and sounds exactly how she does on her records. She was super sweet and gracious at the meet and greet!

Ari Lennox has such a beautiful voice. Even more so live. She was so relatable and sweet. I would see her again, and again, and again.
Ari was a 20/5 of course! It was amazing to see her live. The venue could be improved, as far as the meet and greet goes. Having it in a cleaner area (not with cups and beer cans all over the floor), and somewhere with better lighting for photos with the celebrity would be nice.
