Where do I begin? It took the band over 30 min to appear on stage after the opening act got off. When they finally showed up, Alex (the lead singer) appeared to be pretty drunk and didn't even say anything to the audience for a few songs. While he was pretty solid on vox and didn't mess up any lyrics, he did almost nothing to get the audience into the music. True, most of the high and drunk audience was already dancing like crazy to the music, but Alex didn't attempt to connect with the crowd. His slurred accent made it hard to understand what he was saying anyways. Their lead guitarist didn't stand out all that much, but he did do some pretty cool effects on his guitar. The bassist wasn't all that impressive either. The drummer, however, stole the show. His drumming style seemed very unique and he did a good job at keeping pace and had very solid fills. The most disappointing thing was their setlist. They played an average set, about an hour and a half, and covered all their songs from their new album, about a third of their second album, and almost none from their first album (which happens to be my favorite). Despite cries from the audience to play Mardy Bum, they didn't play it, nor did they play When the Sun Goes Down. Hell, they didn't even play Fake Tales of San Francisco despite being in the SF Bay Area. Overall, it was quite a letdown. You're better off listening to their CD's in your bedroom than going to one of their concerts.
