Anthony Hamilton Background
Before getting his Grammy and churning out hits like "Charlene" and "Can't Let Go," Anthony Hamilton started singing from a young age and got his start in the church choir. Hamilton was born on January 28th, 1971, and is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina -- a core influence of his Southern neo-soul musical style. Hamilton also draws his musical influences from R&B greats, including Michael Jackson. After moving to New York City in the 1990s and moving between record labels, Hamilton finally created a name for himself with his fourth album in 2003, which featured the musical hit "Charlene." Hamilton's influence extends beyond music into the public sphere through his speaking and advocacy opportunities as a CASA spokesperson, which allows him to raise awareness about the foster care system.
They were off the chain. I didn't know Anthony Hamiltion could get down like that. When he comes again, I'm definitely going to get me a ticket.
I loved Chrisette Michelle. I had never really listened to her music before. Music Soulchild kept me dancing. Anthony Hamilton was very entertaining.
ANTHONY WAS AMAZING, MY BOYFRIEND AND I WERE SEATED AND LIKE WHAT EACH GENTLEMAN DID DURING HIS TIME ON STAGE. I WOULD OF PERFERRED MORE OF ANTHONY. BUT HE WAS STILL GREAT! I REMEMBER HAVE HAD EVERY CD THAT ANTHONY HAS PUT OUT, SO MORE SONGS FROM EACH CD, OR SONGS WITH HIM AND TOYA FROM THE 1ST CD I WOULD OF LIKED TO HEAR AGAIN.
Initially I wanted to attend this concert solely to see Chrisette Michele, since she is an awesome artist, but I was also totally impressed with Musiq and Anthony Hamilton as well!! Each artist put on a great show. I would have loved to see more of Chrisette but I understand that she was just an opening act. Anthony Hamilton was full of energy and kept us on our feet. Musiq sung all the songs that I wanted and needed to hear. I am so glad that I went!!!!
The perfomance that Anthony Hamilton put on was EXCELLANT but I did not like how much time Musiq Soulchild performed. My husband and I expected that Anthony Hamilton was the featured act but Musiq seem to take over. We wanted Anthony to sing more songs but due to time contraints that was not possible. I enjoyed the show but really was disappointed that Anthony was not able to perform longer.
Chrisette Michele was Amazing. Musiq Soulchild had the crowd rocking and Anthony Hamilton brought the crowd to their feet.
I enjoyed this concert greatly. I appreciated how Musiq Soulchild performed his whole catalog so all fans were able to hear their favorite song. Musiq is a great performer. Anthony Hamilton was excellent as usual. His band, backup singers were excellent. Anthony brought that energy. My only complaint is that there should have been more time. Anthony is so thorough that we needed to hear all of his music. So that is not really a complaint, just a request. Come back to Houston!!!!
I really enjoyed this concert! I was on the front row and the sound system was great. The singers really gave the audience a great performance!
The concert was really nice! Anthony Hamilton was the best in my opinion!
Chrisette steals the show as usual. Great job by the fellas though.
Truly one of the best live show I have ever attended. Anthony Hamiliton was truly impressive. What a performer! Anthony Exceeded all expecatations. Please bring him back.
These guys were great. I would go again TODAY if they were here. It was enough for everybody, They ROCK !!
I am already a lover of Anthony Hamilton's music but to see it in person is a moment I will never forget....I really enjoyed the concert and would recommend this event to all my friends and associates. He inspired me to believe that love is still a wonderful thing.
I really enjoyed seeing Anthony perform cause I knew it would be worth it . He is a great performer and has incredible vocals . This was my second time going to see him perform and I will attend and support him every chance I get.
I have seen Anthony Hamilton in concert before and I think this show wasnt as good as the previous shows. It could be because of his knee/leg that he was having problems with. I think the show was drawn out with waiting. THe comedian was good for the 15 minutes he was on the stage. I wish he would have brought out someone like Algebra or some upcoming artist. This concert wasnt as good as previous concerts but I love Anthony Hamilton so I would go see him in the future.
I loved the performance and the people really into it.
Where do I begin he came out on stage limping and I thought that the concert wasn't going to be good but, boooy did he surprise me. As soon as he hit the stage we was partying the entire time. Even when he came off the stage to kick it with the crowd...he never missed a beat. He is a great performer...He was worth me standing up for the entire concert. GO see him you will be sooooo glad that you did!
Anthony put on an all the way live show from a chair/stool. He had hurt his leg but was determined to work it out. His voice was even more amazing live than on CD. He can sang. He is funny and engaging. He constantly sought audience interaction. Love HIm. Real Music lives in Anthony Hamilton.
The show was awesome. I loved how he took time out to talk to the audience. It was very intimate and conversational. I think he put his all into it even though he had a hurt knee. This show is a must see if he comes to a town near you.
When I purchased my tickets it advertised as though it was going to be Musiq sol child and another female artist. So when Anthony 40 min performance was over I was sitting there waiting on the other artist to come out. And I was not the only one expecting it to be something different. I could not believe the show was over. Which by the way Anthony Hamilton did not come out until about 9:00pm and the concert was supposed to start at 8:00pm. And also the sound was not good. I enjoyed Anthony because I have been a fan of his for quite some time but I thought it could have been a better show.
