Anthony Hamilton Background

Before getting his Grammy and churning out hits like "Charlene" and "Can't Let Go," Anthony Hamilton started singing from a young age and got his start in the church choir. Hamilton was born on January 28th, 1971, and is a native of Charlotte, North Carolina -- a core influence of his Southern neo-soul musical style. Hamilton also draws his musical influences from R&B greats, including Michael Jackson. After moving to New York City in the 1990s and moving between record labels, Hamilton finally created a name for himself with his fourth album in 2003, which featured the musical hit "Charlene." Hamilton's influence extends beyond music into the public sphere through his speaking and advocacy opportunities as a CASA spokesperson, which allows him to raise awareness about the foster care system.

  • Dallas Riverfront Jazz Festival

by Ben on 9/3/25Riverfront Jazz Fest at Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

The Riverfront Jazz Festival was excellent. Use of the Texas State Fairgrounds for the event was an excellent choice. There were ample parking and easy entrance with no hassles. We attended the Sunday performance and had an opportunity to see many of the artists perform in-person that we hear on Sirius Radio Watercolors daily. Kirk Whalum, Eric Darius, Tom Braxton, Michael Lington and Anthony Hamilton all gave great performances. Anthony Hamilton closed the Sunday night shows with a mixture of R&B and Gospel. He took us to church with the harmony of his back-up singers. God willing and the creek don't rise, we'll be back next year!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Great vocals and performance but poor sound, and late start

by Ki on 9/3/25Riverfront Jazz Fest at Fair Park - DallasRating: 3 out of 5

While Anthony Hamilton’s performance was satisfactory, with great vocals and a good performance, the sound system in the venue was terrible and the seating arrangement was poor. It was difficult to see the performance and the videographer was in the way. Also, it was advertised that Anthony Hamilton would perform at 9:20pm. He didn’t come on stage until 11:00pm. Unacceptable.

  • Love me some Anthony Hamilton

by Babycakes on 9/3/25Riverfront Jazz Fest at Fair Park - DallasRating: 5 out of 5

I got rained on and trekked through puddles of water to see Anthony Hamilton. He was dressed to impress and sounded like butter. Anthony Hamilton can sing the ABCs and I’d pay to see him perform it.

  • RIVER FRONT JAZZ F 2025

by MUSIC on 9/2/25Riverfront Jazz Fest at Fair Park - DallasRating: 2 out of 5

Upon entering security was very professional, welcoming and courteous. Outside music playing and about 7 diffrent food trucks. There was about 3 TO 4 buildings with different jandras of music in each one. As well as venu tables with amazing buys! However, It was confusing trying to figure out the logistics of what building was playing which jandra. There should be signs with informarion regarding times, intermissions, and direction to which building save ticket buyers time from walking around looking for who they went to see. Also, they have four different big theater size screen for viewing from further distances. They do have seating available( YOU DO NOT HAVE TO BRING YOUR OWN CHAIR. * THERE WAS A PROBLEM WITH DISTORTIED SUR-ROUND SOUND ESPECIALLY IF YOU'RE IN THE MIDDLE TO BACK SEATING. * CLEAN RESTROOMS THROUGH THE EVENT. *SPACIOUS DANCE FLOOR AVIALABLE that separates VIP FROM REGULAR ADMISSION. VIP COMES WITH TABLES AND CHAIRS FOR YOUR GROUP . REG ADM ONLY CHAIRS. * INSIDE AC TO KEEP YOU COOL FROM THE OUT DOOR HEAT🔥. NOW THATS A PLUS! I hope this 2025 review helps ticket buyers as well as Logistics.

I had a had a great time. This was my three time seeing Lyfe Jennings and as also he did great, but he didn't sing one of my favorite songs (Let's Stay with) Tamar Braxton yessssss she was good. That Anthony Hamilton was everything that I expected him to be. Anthony put on a great show. I will definitely see them again and again. Thank you so much for a wonderful night. My sweetheart and I don't get a chance to go out all the time but when we do ,it's feel like the very first I went out with him which is magical for me.

Everything went smooth that day, getting to our seats. Getting merchandise, getting our drinks, going to our seats. Anthony was amazing in concert and then to meet him in person was the topping on the cake.. He was so pleasant and so personable, and just a very kind, warm, hearted soul of a person, so glad to meet him and so glad I got to see and then concert. 10 out of 10
