    Annie was Amazing!

by Anonymous on 1/8/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Annie was very well played. Though it left out some parts of the actual story it was portrayed very well. The little actors were amazing and see a big future for them. Definitely something to watch with the family!

    Annie was wonderful

by RDuper on 1/8/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

A friend and I gave tickets to this show as Christmas presents to our daughters, both 9 years old. We then accompanied them for a day in NYC and had a great time. The show was tailored for appeal to little girls but these 40-something year old men enjoyed it too, especially in our daughter's company.

For me, compared to original, it was okay but for our grandaughters, seeing it for the first time, it was fantastic! That is all that counts.

    Annie: always a favorite

by Swish13 on 1/6/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Lucky enough to catch a classic that I've always loved. Definitely a must should it come back to the stage in the future. The acting and singing were on par; laughter mixed with tears. Great performance by all.

    Annie was amazing!

by HugeBubleFan on 1/6/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Our daughter recently found out that she will play the role of Annie in her high school's spring musical. We were so excited to be able to take her to NYC for one of the final performances of "Annie". We attended the January 3rd performance and were wowed by all of the talent but especially that of the young performers. The show was amazing and the Christmas scene was absolutely beautiful!

Annie was worth the the trip in the snow!

by NewYorkGirl11 on 1/5/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

We traveled only from Long Island, but the snow was a little scary. We didn't know if the show would be cancelled, but as they say, "the show went on". It was so well acted and the scene changes were non-stop there were no chanced to lose attention, not even the little ones. Too bad the show is ending today. I'm sure this fabulous cast will find a new home in another successful musical or play. Thanks for the memories. And one other thing, that sweet dog Sandy, brought tears to all of our eyes just watching the touching moments with Annie.

    An Annie without moxie

by Greenticket on 1/5/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

While Annie could certainly hit all the high notes, she lacked some of the acting skills necessary to really play this role. Where was all the moxie and rough edges that made the original character so memorable? This Annie is an almost irritating pollyanna rather than a real street urchin whose optimism in spite of a truly hard life wins over the likes of Oliver Warbucks and president Roosevelt. This Annie didn't seem surprised to learn that a house could have a pool INSIDE. Also there were some really bad storytelling choices -in the shanty town number they are talking about how they can't throw away the newspapers any more because they need them to keep warm and use them for blanket. Then, in the middle of the Herbert Hoover song, they magically produce a pristine poster of the guy. Where did they get it? Why haven't they burned it? In the original I seem to remember a faded poster on one of the shanty homes. This kind of incongruous staging really ungrounded the production and made it all feel like a glossed over theme-park version of what was originally an INCREDIBLE musical with some of the most memorable songs of my generation. The direction and choreography didn't tell the story. Their costumes were all clean as well. Couldn't they be treated to look old and ragged? The orphans lacked moxie as well and seemed to have been directed to 'act cute' rather than hungry, looney and sad. The choreography lacked some of the power and wild anger that the original communicated so well. Poor Faith Prince. You have one of the best Broadway stars up there acting against cardboard. Supporting roles like Grace etc. also did not have This was the first Broadway show I took my child too. She didn't know the difference, but I was really disappointed.

    Great Show !!

by Jewel319 on 1/5/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

I took my 7 year old niece to see her first Broadway Show !! She loved the kids and the show was great. She was clapping so hard by the end and told me she loved Molly !! Personally I thought that Annie sounded very nasally when she sang. It was distracting. But overall the acting was great and it was a wonderful night out

    Annie was awesome!!

by dp2468 on 1/4/14Palace Theatre New York - New York

Annie was an amazing show! The young actors who portrayed the orphans were fabulous! The entire cast was great, and totally in synch with each other. It was easy to tell that the cast enjoyed performing the show as much as the audience enjoyed viewing it.
