André Rieu on Tour
André Rieu is nothing short of a cosmopolitan treasure. The Dutch violinist has dedicated his life to spreading the joy of the waltz to fans across the world. Since starting the Johann Strauss Orchestra in the late ‘80s, he's taken his dynamic ensemble — which numbers around 60 — everywhere from Europe and Asia to the Americas and Australia. Almost every year, the orchestra lands on Billboard's list of Top 25 tours, with Rieu recognized by the publication in 2009 as the most successful male touring artist in the world. Yearly, his group performs between 70 and 100 shows worldwide. Rieu has become famous for his energetic stage presence and thrilling repertoire. Often playing on the violin from the conductor's podium and leading his orchestra at the same time, engaging the audience in his dramatic and buoyant readings of well-known tunes, Rieu is as close to a rock star as one can get in the classical world.
André Rieu in Concert
Rieu was born in Maastricht, Netherlands, in 1949 to a father who was the conductor of the Maastricht Symphony Orchestra. So a life in music came naturally. He began studying the violin at age 5, eventually training at conservatories in Liège, Maastricht and Brussels. During his studies, he became obsessed with the waltz as he recognized how thoroughly the Viennese form gripped audiences when played from a stage. After a number of performance posts, including with the Limburg Symphony Orchestra, Rieu created the Johann Strauss Orchestra in 1987. The group would be dedicated primarily to performing waltzes the world over. With his orchestra, Rieu has not only toured but released live DVDs and CDs, many of which have gone platinum, and he's responsible for the beloved annual New Year's concerts in Vienna, the birthplace of Strauss and the home of the waltz.

Beyond our imagination, André Rieu and Johann Strauss Orchestra delivered a magical night.
We’ve wanted to see Andre and his orchestra for years and we weren’t disappointed. Amazing music, stunning presentation and a true showman leading the way. Don’t miss this!
The event was spectacular The venue was very professionally staffed and welcoming the music, the backdrop, and the atmosphere was one of a kind. Andre is a true genius and great humanitarian.
The UBS Arena is a new venue with wonderful views of the stage. The settings were colorful and the effects complimented the music. On a whole, the selections were welcomed by the audience. I feel the AMEN song could have been shortened as it went on too long and too loud. The WW II veteran was amazing and added so much to the show content and Bolero was outstanding All and all a wonderful evening and the audience left feeling elated.
Enjoyed the show but not enough of the classics. A little bit too much of the gospel and I am a religious person.
I purchased tickets so that we could enjoy Mr. Rieu's Classical Music. For the most part the experience was enjoyable, I did not enjoy the Gospel singing. If I had wanted to hear Gospel music, I would have purchased tickets that type of performance. It went on for way too long, and was way too loud. Disappointing I really wanted to love his show.
Enjoyed the overall show. Great tribute by Andre to the WW II veterans and having the saxophone playing vet play on stage with the Strauss Orchestra. 2nd half of the program brought the audience to their feet to sing and dance in the aisles.
Maestro Rieu did not disappoint. His venue was diverse and consisted of operetic vocals, bagpipes, gospel, American Songs, instrumentals by his magnificent orchestra and beautiful costumes and backdrops Of course we were happy as we danced to the magical blue Danube.
Most exciting, energetic, extravaganza, moving experience anyone could expect. Dancing, singing, audience participation, music, Music, MUSIC. Truly a spectacle to behold. Thank you to the entire troop of performers.
What a wonderful show. Love to see how much Andre and his orchestra have fun, laugh and share beautiful music with their audience.
Loved every minute of this show! The colorful presentation of the dresses, the changing scenery, the marching band, the excellent talent of all the performers, the professionalism, and the excitement of the audience all contributed to a beautiful evening.
I wanted and paid for to see Andre Riu ( I attend several of his Concerts before ) for his beautiful style of Music and Orchestra. I did not appreciated the music ( noise ) the other entertainers displayed with music and dancing, not my style of music or entertainment. It certainly will not be attending any future Venues at the UBS Arena. The acoustics are not for a concert and need improvements. Parking prices $50 is ridicules.
Everything about the show and seats was as expected.
Excellent performance. Also everything very well organized
What a performance everything is spot on this people play instruments for years and you can tell the sound is amazing no room for error plus the voices a true show, you will be entertained for more than 2 hours and leave happy wanting to go back again
Great show as only Andre Rieu and orchestra can deliver. Have seen him over 6 times and he never disappoints. Looking forward to the next time he comes to my area.
The show was fa fantastic. Our second time to his show.
A well coordinated and organized event, with such attention paid to detail, the backdrops, the costumes, fantastic! The interaction of Mr. Rieu and his audience is one I’ve never before experienced. I felt the connection, and this was my first time attending. What great sopranos and tenors ! and a magnificent magical mix of music! I enjoyed every selection. Next concert in NY I would like very much for Mr Rieu to play a short piece.on his Stradivarius violin. I just want to hear him! Lovely evening. Bravo !
Absolutely amazing show. A definite bucket list show!! If you haven’t seen it get there wherever it’s playing. From start to finish each song gets better and better.
I was disappointed by this concert because I was expecting to see and listen beautiful classical music which was conducted by Rieu , not music performed by somebody else.
