Went with four friends to this event. We all loved every minute of it! Taft theater ballroom is a great venue.
Wow! What a show! Ana's lightning fast and funky blues guitar mixed well with her sultry singing. See this show!
Ana was a fantastic show! She plays with emotion and has tremendous ability to incorporate many techniques into her playing. Tempo was predominately upbeat with a funky blues feel. Toe tapping, head bobbing and chair dancing dominated the audience from start to finish. She was personable on stage and took the time to do a meet and greet following the show, selling her current CD and signing just about anything presented. My wife and I had a great time! If she comes to a town near you, make the effort to attend this talented performers show!
Ana and her Band are really great musicians. Hard to believe a girl that good looking can play that guitar as well as she does. Most "hotties" rely more on face/figure for fame/fortune. She must have really "put in her time" practicing to get to be that great. I'm not a guitar expert. But, i'd say her guitar licks are world class. The room sound left a little bit to be desired. Very loud - and i couldn,t make out the words to the songs. I guess the sound system could have been better. But, overall, the instrument playing was fantastic. Great Show, Ana. Cold beer, great music = Great night!!!!!!
Dana Fuchs and Ana Popovic are arguably the two most powerful women in music today This was one of the best shows I have seen (and I have seen many) Dana Fuchs is incredible her raw power and stage presence is beyond compare, Dana is very comfortable in her skin and it shows. The Dana Fuchs band compliments her very well, great music with soul. Ana Popovic takes her place among the great blues artist she has a very soulful voice accompanied by some of the best lead guitar I have heard. Her band is great, all instrumentals where top notch
Great venue, never been there before but I would definitely go back. I have to be honest, I was there to see Dana Fuchs, while I was familiar with Ana Popovic and am always open to hearing a new band, I am a huge Dana Fuchs fan. I've seen Dana many times in a variety of settings, both with the full band and as a duo and I have to say that if you haven't heard her, you need to give her a listen. She is a dynamic performer with a wide range of material from Blues to Rock and she never disappoints. Ana Popovic was good, but by comparison, she and her band lacked the fire and dynamics of The Dana Fuchs Band.
Drums slightly too loud beat too hard but excellent drummer.
Absolutely incredible! Ana is one of the premier artists out there - guitarist, singer, songwriter. Not to mention a rather attractive woman. This was the second time we've seen Ana in an intimate venue like this (Hard Rock Cafe-Pittsburgh) and it just doesn't get any better. Seeing her intensity and the true enjoyment of the whole band up close and personal like that is just unreal. Plus the opening act, The Nancy McKeen Bluz Machine will be on our watch list - very enjoyable, very talented.
