Go to An American in Paris if you get the chance

by CB123456789 on 10/12/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

I saw the final premiere performance of this show in Paris, France in January 2015 and I'm happy to say that I saw it again for its final performance on Broadway. I'm happy that it will continue its journey as it tours the United States and opens in London next year. I would recommend to anyone that is a fan of old movie musicals, Gershwin, and also musicals in general.

So glad we got to see An American in Paris before it leaves Broadway. Great music, beautiful dancing and amazing sets. Go see it if it comes to a city near you.

Beautiful dancing, music by Gershwin, "who could ask for anything more." Just a lovely evening at the theater.

Dancing was wonderful which was reason I came. First half a little slow but second half was magical. Wonderful love story. Costumes for ballet part a little weird for the time period but dancing was wonderful. Lise was adorable and fabulous

    You have to like Ballet

by dccesq on 10/11/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Slow moving n a lot of ballet. I did not enjoy it. It was a remake and original movie was better. Lack luster

What a treat! The Jazz-ballet style was perfect for Gershwin.

    Heart-warming show

by Hog123 on 10/10/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

This was a charming show. The music was delightful, although not original. The dancing was superb. The only problem was that I was sitting in the balcony, overlooking the railing and it was hard to see the show. I'm still glad I saw this show.

An American in Paris will make you feel happy!

by Anonymous on 10/10/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

This production is built around a happy-ending love story communicated through song and ballet. The dance rountines are truly amazing and both leads are equally good. The beautiful old theatre with crystal chandeliers adds just the right touch to the excellent performance.

It was a great blend of play, musical, and ballet. 2.5 hours that were well spent.

Nice, but weak interpretation of movie

by UltimaTeatro on 10/10/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Thought production was very professional - as most Broadway shows prove to be. Found the plot diverted from the movie to such as degree as it distracted from the overall production. I can understand why it is closing shortly.

by AAIP5 on 10/8/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

This play captivated your attention from start to finish! It was very entertaining and the love story was awesome! We couldn't get acceptable tickets to Hamilton while visiting NYC and chose this play as an alternative. An Excellent Choice!!!!!!!!!

An American in Paris was boring!

by Patapon on 10/7/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

After reading great reviews about this musical, especially the ballet, we were so disappointed to find it so boring! This was supposed to be a romantic story that moves us. But it turned out to be just a lot of ballet with no resemblance to the story. Add to that, the ballet was very, very basic, and there was no beauty to move us at all. The music was flat throughout, and this was the first time we were looking forward to the end of the show (and we have seen almost all of them!). i would NOT recommend this show at all unless you are a DIE HARD fan of the composer, and thus can appreciate his music. If you are a ballet fan, you will be sorely disappointed. And if you are looking for a romantic love story, give this a miss!

    Yes! A must see

by Skiersuz on 10/5/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

Wonderful performance! So glad I chose to see this show. The dancing was remarkable and even though the show ended just like I thought it would, there was plenty of action to keep it interesting. I was pleasantly surprised by some of the one liners and other amusing lines/jokes. Definitely a must see!

    NOT MY FAV!

by Nayla123 on 10/5/16Palace Theatre New York - New York

I was really looking forward to seeing the show, good seats on ticketmaster excellent price. The show was really bad, the actors were horrible, very bad acting and extremely boring. The dancing was nice but the actors were really bad, especially with the French accent, a high school play would have been better. Very disappointed!

This play had fabulous music, ballet, & singing. I could not have enjoyed any more than I did. It was so good that my wife never fell asleep even once. A very rare occurrence.
