    Amandaā€™s Still Got It!

    by Shauna on 7/31/23

Amanda put on the show of a lifetime! Her energy is amazing and her voice is just as strong as it was in the 90ā€™s. Loved her new songs, and she brought the house to their feet with the old ones. Big Kudos to her opening artist, Sophia Fracassi, as well - brilliant talent!!

Worth waiting 20 years (but please return sooner!)

    by NewWestJeff on 7/6/23

That voice! Words cannot do justice to the power and emotion Amanda delivered. One must experience it to truly understand. In Amanda's own words: "Stage is Soul". Only two other female artists I've seen live are in the same category: Pat Benatar and Ann Wilson (Heart). Amanda is also surprisingly funny and personable on stage. Overall this was an amazing, almost religious, experience. Shout out to the QET staff for managing the crowd. No long waits for beverages or washrooms. Ushers were pleasant and took extra time to chat and assist when necessary.

    Beyond What I Expected

by Very Satisfied Vancouver Fan on 7/6/23

I saw Amanda Marshall over 20 years ago. Her albums, Amanda Marshall and Tuesday's Child are in my "favorites"section of my album collection. I confess I was not expecting a lot for the first tour in 20 years and wondered what the passage of time did to her voice. The voice is better than I remember and the concert was better than what I saw over 20 years ago. Her voice is still stunningly powerful. Perhaps more powerful.

    Best live show ever

    by Lillitu on 7/6/23

I have been to A LOT of concerts.. I wasnā€™t expecting to go to Amanda Marshall and see the best show I have ever seen. I was close to tears, not only because of the nostalgia of it all but because Amanda Marshall has got to be the strongest vocalist Iā€™ve ever heard. Almost 30 years since her debut album and she sounds stronger now then she did then! Canā€™t say that for most artists. I hope she amps it up and continues to release new music and tours, Iā€™ll definitely be going again if she does!

    Amanda is Back

    by Lynn S on 7/4/23

Amanda Marshall put on a fantastic show Friday night at the Jubilee. Opening with Let it Rain. She went on to play old and new music and even did one of Tina Turners songs to pay tribute to her. She also did a Gordon Lightfoot song to tribute him. She received a standing ovation and came back for an encore of two songs. Her energy was amazing Iā€™m so glad she is back performing and song writing.

    SO Good!!

    by DOK on 7/3/23

Amanda Marshallā€™s talent goes far beyond her years. Her voice still is just as incredible live now as it was twenty years ago. I wish she played a longer encore but letā€™s face it - if I had it my way, she would have played a triple encore.

Great artist, but the sound was awful

    by AR on 7/3/23

Amanda Marshal is an amazing artist and she gave her all at the Southern Jubilee auditorium. We were on the 2nd balcony. The Jube underwent refurbishment recently, adding cloth sail-like panels to the walls, and I think the sound system mustā€™ve been replaced. The sound was AWFUL! We couldnā€™t make out any of the lyrics for her or her opening act. Very muffled and echoing. The band sounded like all were playing at a slight delay. Is this maybe going from analogue to digital? It sucks. I know they got rid of their old sound engineering panel because we saw it for sale in an antique store!! Weā€™ve had better sound in the Saddledome! And thatā€™s not saying much. Great concert though! Just donā€™t see it in the Jube!

Loved the Music, Couldn't hear the Conversation

    by ArlieE on 7/3/23

My husband and I got our tickets very last minute so were seated on the far left of the second balcony, which we realized would make it hard to see details on stage, so we brought our binoculars. We thought it would be enough just to listen and take the occasional look through the binoculars. We were very disappointed to find the sound quality very poor though. We were unable to make out most (almost all) of what the artists (Sophia and Amanda) were saying when speaking, which was very frustrating; we really felt like we were missing out. Luckily we knew the words to most of what Amanda sang and were able to enjoy the music Sophia provided. I may attend the Jubilee Theatre again, but will never sit in the second balcony again.
