Almost Queen on Tour
An Almost Queen show is a mix of theater, history, costumes, chops, nostalgia, harmonies, some of the most popular songs of all time and, of course, one iconic mustache. Intensely devoted, Almost Queen perform Queen's beaming four-part harmonies, blasting out faithful renditions of hits like "Crazy Little Thing Called Love," "We Are the Champions," "Under Pressure," "Radio Ga Ga," "Don't Stop Me Now" and the occasional deeper cut. They even do a live rendition of the baroque, operatic bridge of "Bohemian Rhapsody," something Queen themselves did not perform without some recording assistance. Emerging from New York in 2005, this tribute band have brought Queen's canon of triumphant arena songs to the intimate settings of clubs and theaters — not to mention stops in Peru, Mexico, the Dominican Republic and Trinidad.
Almost Queen in Concert
Billing their act as "THE most authentic Queen live show since the days of Queen themselves," Almost Queen came not from England but from New York, keeping the legacy of Freddie Mercury and Queen alive in sound and vision. More than just Queen fans, many members of Almost Queen have serious performance bona fides. Joseph Russo (who performs as vocalist Freddie Mercury) toured as the lead in a European production of Hair. The other members — Steve Leonard (as guitarist Brian May), Randy Gregg (as bassist John Deacon) and John Cappadona (as drummer Roger Taylor) — have résumés that individually feature them touring or playing with hard rock artists like Thin Lizzy, Angel, Lauren Harris and Twisted Sister's Dee Snider. The band have appeared on Jim Breuer's Sirius radio show and were the subject of "Queen: Keeping the Spirit of Freddie Alive," an episode of the series Tribute Bands airing on E! in Canada. Iconic rock fan Howard Stern even once quipped, "These guys are even better than the Queen that's out there touring."

The opening act was horrible and hard to listen to. Almost Queen did not take the stage til 9:00pm so get to the show appropriately.
They acted as a warm up band with their own songs for 30 minutes. Didn't pay to see this. After a break they were fabulous.
Almost Queen was awesome. Very entertaining and professional. Will definitely see them again in the future.
Some of the band’s members were the opening act. That wasn’t advertised. They were mediocre. Then they took a 30 minute break. During the show, the drummer did a 10 minute solo which was 7 minutes too long. They were good when singing Queen songs.
Had a good time but was disappointed with the opening act. As for Queen, it was excellent and I would recommend it to others. The Queen act would definitely get 5 stars.
I never saw Almost Queen before. Heard a lot about them for a couple of years already. Since Queen was my all time favorite band. I thought I would be disappointed to recreate perfection, but these guys came very, very close. Since I've been to a number of Queen concerts, these guys, particularly the singer had all the mannerisms as Freddie which made it great. Voice can never be up to Freddie, but this guy was great even sol Very much enjoyed PS Super Trans Am was excellent too
Super Trans Am opened for Almost Queen. They were amazing! Great show! Almost Queen was great musically but vocally, the lead singer seemed to have an off night. I would go see them again though. They put on a great show! A great night all in all.
We loved it ! Highly recommend going to see them. Can't wait until they are back. Super Trans Am was also great ! 👍👍
This is the 11th time I have seen Almost Queen and honestly every show has been great. Every experience has been enjoyable. The band is entertaining and amazing - EVERY TIME! The crowds really respond to them. If you haven't been to one of their shows you really should go. It is always a good time!
Have never seen them, got tix for my wife, always wanted to take her. We are both over 60, big Queen fans. Started with the opening act, Super Trans Am. We both totally dug it, good costumes, all different artists they played from the 70's. They were good enough to have a concert all themselves! When AQ started, my wife skeptical, I just said watch it enjoy, they are not Queen, just giving you a show. It was awesome, glad we went! Front man sold it well, Brian Maybe's guitar was stellar ... not much more to ask. And, 2 of the members hailed from Long Island.
Never got to see Queen and Freddie Mercury live. So Almost Queen is as close as I will ever get. Great Show loved the graphics with their photos inserted for Queens pics. They sounded Great and looked Great A very Fun show !
Great sound, great show, a must see show if you’re a Queen fan. Love the early songs!
Expected bigger area in Sky Bar. Better sound quality. Feel Almost Queen may have been better at an outside venue.
This was our 7th time seeing them! We always know we’ll be having a good time! Every show never disappoints!
Great venue, and great performance by both Almost Queen and the warm up band Super Trans Am. Both were amazing!!
This was a great show! Not only did these guys play Queen music, but they also played the part. Got the audience involved just like Queen did back in the day. We all know there is only one Freddie Mercury, but the singer really did a great job has a great voice and really played the part well. Will definitely see them again
Almost Queen wasn't perfect BUT, I really had a great time. I loved seeing young kids, teenagers and senior like myself get into each song. Hands waving, dancing and all the singing with almost all the songs. I can't wait to see them again and hopefully they will have Super Trans Am band open for them again. What a great combination. I sang more that night then I have in a year.
Amazing show!! Did all the great hits and had lots of audience participation. Will definitely see them again.
Entire family had a great time seeing Almost Queen, would love to see again.
