Very entertaining and informative. Love the humor.
Can't say enough good things about Michelle Azar's portrayal of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. It's not easy to maintain interest in a one person performance, but she did it with ease and totally captured RBG's persona. She never missed a beat and captivated the audience from beginning to end. Playwright, Rupert Holmes, provided the moving words and message with an intensity that could only leave a lasting impression. You only need to see this play once, but everyone should do so.
An incredible performance by an incredible actress. I could not believe how fast the time went.
I was so looking forward to seeing All Things Equal -- and it was SO worth the wait: excellent performance, good staging -- just an all-around delightful experience. I hadn't been to the Balboa Theatre is a very long time -- and that was a treat as well. I had loge seating (so I was a good distance from the stage), but my sight-line was perfect and the sound quite good. All in all -- it was a great experience!
The play, authored by Rupert Holmes and directed by Laley Lippard, was brilliant. Michelle Azar as RBG gave a superb performance. The Honorable Justice Ginsburg’s life is inspirational. I'm so glad I was able to see 'All Things Equal: The Life and Trials of Ruth Bader Ginsburg'.
This was entertaining and informative. Although the theatre was full of older women. It would be a great show for young people to see. The actress was amazing, she had so many lines and being a one women show she showed her great level of skill with emotion and poise with no other actors to play off of. Bravo. RBG would approve.
Didn’t really know what to expect from the show, but it was highly entertaining, informative, enlightening and inspiring!
Having seen many single artist presentations, this one, for me, unfortunately didn't measure up. Due to the artist's vocal tone, I found myself missing lines, despite my second row seating. Although it was informative and the set design was fine, the presentation itself was lacking.
We learned so much about our admired RBG! It has always been hard for women to 'get ahead,' and this play brilliantly illustrated her approach to getting things done, as well as advancing herself to places never dreamt of before for a woman! Great actor, excellent sound, really enjoyed it - even if today's political reality is very bittersweet.
Not an empty seat for this amazing one-woman show about the life and trials of the Notorious RBG. Excellent summary of her life with even-handed treatment of her few regrets. What a woman and what a play!!
From the moment the curtain went up, I was hanging on every word. She was RBG; voice, gestures, and movement. Absolutely one of the best educational shows I have seen. Also the humor; loved the humor: standing ovation!
All Things Equal: RBG couldn't have been any better than it was. It had all of the elements of a good play - informative, happy, sad, humor galore with a terrific actress. How she spoke for 2 hours straight without a dull moment is beyond me. The stage was full of surprises with video footage that worked interchangeably with her bookcase. I hope the Balboa Theatre brings the show back. Two performances is just not enough!
The play itself was wonderful. The sole actress WAS Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She was marvelous. The staging was interesting, and the use of the computer screen worked very well. However, the theater did not do a good job of getting the evening started. After exhorting the theater goers to arrive extra early, they didn’t open the doors to the seating area until after 7:15, for a show that was scheduled to start at 7:30. Accordingly, the lobby area became extremely crowded with anxious patrons. Naturally, it took a long time for the patrons to get in their seats, with very little urging by the ushers, and so the performance started very late. Thankfully, that concern was overcome by the spectacular nature of the performance!!
I loved the format for this one-woman play - turned into a personal discussion with Justice Ginsberg. The small theatre added to the feeling of being spoken to directly. Although I knew most of her history and background, the way it was presented was new and refreshing. Mixing large format historical pictures added so much to the realism and feel of a "fireside"chat. Thank you!
This play was a one woman, one act performance, and there was not a moment I was not fully engaged. The place spans Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s life, focusing, of course, on her many accomplishments. It is a true homage to the dynamic being that was RBG.
We left after 20 minutes. It was pretty disappointing.
I really enjoy the show. Joining her on her journey and reflecting on all her accomplishments was great.
I saw the biopic on RGB but this play brought her story to life. This one woman show was a powerhouse of an experience.
We laughed, we cried and we clapped a lot. We were amazed that a 90- minute one-woman-show could keep our interest and attention as well as this one did.
The 90 minute, one woman show, exceeded my expectations. I was crying along with the rest of the audience. I had to go alone and i was hoping it would be playing again nearby so I could bring my wife and other friends. Highly recommended!
