Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Russian parents, Alina Baraz has been around music all her life. With both parents having classical training, she was destined to find her voice through music, citing D'Angelo, Daniel Caeser and Amy Winehouse as some of her major influences. Almost immediately after the release of her first single, "Roses Dipped in Gold" at age 19, Baraz and her family moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a singer/songwriter full time.
In 2015, Baraz released her debut project, Urban Flora. The project was a thoughtful exploration of a past relationship, made entirely over the internet with the Danish producer Galimatias. The two artist's partnership began when Baraz sang her lyrics over a Galimatias beat, which would go on to be titled "Drift." The acclaimed project was praised by the Guardian, NPR, Huffington Post, Harpers Bazaar and many more, and sat on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart for over 125 weeks, peaking at #2.
2017 was a career year for Baraz. In January, she released the viral single "Electric" ft. Khalid, which has been streamed over 130M times and counting. The single was followed by an entire EP of remixes, pushing streams around "Electric" to over 157M worldwide. Filling the year with live appearances, Baraz headlined a sold-out US tour in the spring and joined Coldplay as support on their Head Full of Dreams Tour in the fall.
Baraz draws heavy inspiration from color and described the process of her latest project and album prelude The Color of You as a major departure from her artistic comfort zone. Before recording the project, she had never worked with more than one person at a time, let alone in a professional studio. Enlisting Grammy-nominated producer Robin Hannibal (Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris, Cee Lo Green) to help produce the project, Alina completely changed her songwriting process throughout the sessions. The project is a timeline of her trying to comprehend a new person entering her life, impacting it as intensely as a color she's never seen before.
The opening act Rini was great and he gained a new fan. Alina Baraz is amazing especially in person!! It’s like watching a real life mermaid bless you with her vocals and dancers on stage. Overall 10/10 recommended performance!
So, been to about 30 shows at the fillmore and i got there at a pretty decent time.. the pit area was apparently “full” and we needed wristbands which they never do. If they would’ve said it before hand I would’ve arrived earlier or bought a wristband before hand. the concert overall 10/10, was my third time seeing alina and she didn’t disappoint. the only thing that was so upsetting is that she performed for like 30 mins… lol like what? first time in miami and all you give us is 30 MINUTES?!
I loved the show. The ambiance was perfect. The dancers were amazing… props to those girls. Alina proved why she is the Queen. Can’t wait for the next time she tours.
Alina was amazing! She sounded so good in person and put on a great show. Her opener, Rini, was also a good live performer.
Everything was amazing from start to finish... RINI smoothly open for the vibes and Alina plays all my favorite hits for me!
I bought the meet and greet to her concert . She was on time and did not let us waiting like other artist do . At the time of the meet and greet I was kind of disappointed because she didn’t say anything just hello and asked for our name . She looked really tired which was understandable. She’s beautiful in person . The Artist (RINI )that opened for her was amazing. When she finally came on . The show was so majestic and she came back for an encore at the end . I would definitely buy a ticket for her concert again .
She is so talented and might I say beautiful. 😍 Loved the energy she brought, it was nothing but good vibes in that place I loved it!
Love her but The concert was too short!! Also wish she performed more from Urban Flora
The concert was everything I hoped for and more - it literally felt like a dream. From the lighting to the performers, everything was perfect. I'm so glad I was finally able to listen to Alina in person; she is absolutely ethereal and my favorite artist ever. <3
Alina Baraz was amazing live! Downfall was the venue being card only, there was no info on that prior to getting in. That and the shots were the same cost as a mixed drink with the same alcohol...didnt make sense.
The concert was nothing short of amazing. The graphics and seeing Alina in person was one of the best concert experiences I’ve ever had. I cannot wait to see her live again!!
Venue was dope, they had popcorn which was cool. Check vax cards at the door, and it wasn’t over crowded.
First it wasn’t made clear that we needed vaccination card for entry. Then the concert that had a line out the door waiting for entry at 830 was over and everyone was exiting at 945. It was a disappointment to say the least.
Got to see my favorite artist in the most intimate way. The Fillmore was perfect. The VIP seats were definitely worth it. Energy of the show from beginning to end was 1000% genuine. We felt her and I know she felt us. When she comes back going to see her again.
The information available online said the show was 8-11 PM with two supporting acts. I got there at 9:30 and she announced she was playing her last song and the show was over before 10. Very disappointing to miss the show. I would have arrived earlier had the information been accurate
The headliner of the show was only on for 45 minutes.
Loved every minute. Her performance and the band and the graphics amazing! I thought I was at a lavish vegas regency concert!
Alina was as beautiful as she sounded, it was well coordinated, the merch was awesome (lots of autographed options). Entry was easy, however they never checked our Covid test so felt like I really wasted time and effort to get that done in a time crunch & travel to attend. The seating was confusing as you didn’t have an option to buy a seat but they somehow had assigned seats at the venue. Either way, the concert itself was immaculate and I will be looking to see her more!
She was beautiful. Her performance was rhythmic and entertaining.
I’ve waited 3 years to see her live, her shows sells out quickly. However, it was worth the wait!! Such an amazing show! She’s my favorite artist and I really really enjoyed every second! Beautiful
