About

Born in Cleveland, Ohio to Russian parents, Alina Baraz has been around music all her life. With both parents having classical training, she was destined to find her voice through music, citing D'Angelo, Daniel Caeser and Amy Winehouse as some of her major influences. Almost immediately after the release of her first single, "Roses Dipped in Gold" at age 19, Baraz and her family moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as a singer/songwriter full time.

In 2015, Baraz released her debut project, Urban Flora. The project was a thoughtful exploration of a past relationship, made entirely over the internet with the Danish producer Galimatias. The two artist's partnership began when Baraz sang her lyrics over a Galimatias beat, which would go on to be titled "Drift." The acclaimed project was praised by the Guardian, NPR, Huffington Post, Harpers Bazaar and many more, and sat on Billboard's Top Dance/Electronic Albums chart for over 125 weeks, peaking at #2.

2017 was a career year for Baraz. In January, she released the viral single "Electric" ft. Khalid, which has been streamed over 130M times and counting. The single was followed by an entire EP of remixes, pushing streams around "Electric" to over 157M worldwide. Filling the year with live appearances, Baraz headlined a sold-out US tour in the spring and joined Coldplay as support on their Head Full of Dreams Tour in the fall.

Baraz draws heavy inspiration from color and described the process of her latest project and album prelude The Color of You as a major departure from her artistic comfort zone. Before recording the project, she had never worked with more than one person at a time, let alone in a professional studio. Enlisting Grammy-nominated producer Robin Hannibal (Kendrick Lamar, Calvin Harris, Cee Lo Green) to help produce the project, Alina completely changed her songwriting process throughout the sessions. The project is a timeline of her trying to comprehend a new person entering her life, impacting it as intensely as a color she's never seen before.

    Issa Vibe

by AP on 10/28/21Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

Fox Theater: didn’t have to stand in line for long. Parking sucks down there. Too many ticket checks, I got in through the front door, why do you need to check my ticket again when I walk in? Theater was clean, like how there was bars almost everywhere, so you won’t have to stand in 1 long line. Unfortunately, umbrella check had to stay outside, and had to retrieve it after the concert. Too bad SOMEONE took ours. Alina Baraz: She’s beautiful! Great performance! Sang most of her hits. She did start a hour half later, I understand a hour late, but if ur going to be late, make up for the time, sing more songs girl! Also, the concert was SHORT! :( literally only a hour of her singing. I was a little disappointed, driving from Sacramento in the RAIN just for a hour performance.

I really enjoyed it. Minus the weather issue. And she was trying to end the show early. I literally risked my life going to the fox theater trying to see her lol

    Disappointing, Upsetting, Regretful Experience

by ConcertCouple on 10/27/21Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

First off, this was out very first concert for my bf and I at the Fox Theatre in Oakland. The Telegraph room was a cool addition but did not make up for the disappointing mere 25-30 minutes that Alina Baraz sang. She came out very late after making us wait for what seemed like forever. Once she started performing, she sang a handful of songs and proceeded to leave. Honestly, I loved her music but I expected a lot more from her than just 30 minutes of what was a late starting and rushed performance. The crowd afterwards was very upset as we were making out way out of the venue. Just a terrible experience all together. Unfortunately, we will not be spending any more money let alone driving all the way from San Jose in the pouring rain to see Alina ever again. Disappointing, upsetting, and regretful experience.

    Amazing experience, beautiful human.

    by Ammar Hasan on 10/27/21

Got the meet & greet for her show and she’s absolutely amazing! Super kind, I wish I had more time to talk with her. Her vocals are very good in person as. The visuals for her set were incredible as well. All around great vibes and the people in the audience were overall all pretty friendly too. She’s amazing. Go support her and watch her live.

I bought meet and greet tickets for this event

by LG on 10/27/21Fox Theater - Oakland - Oakland

I bought mean great tickets to this event two months prior to the show. The day of the actual concert it was pouring rain, I was driving from two hours away and got there kind of late. I was refused the meet and greet because I got there late so I had paid double what everyone else paid and all I got was a signed poster. I feel that staff could have accommodated me and my friend for what we paid. We cannot help that it was raining and there was a lot of traffic.

    Oh my !!!!

by Pimphandstrong2 on 10/6/18House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

You could feel the energy for this concert once stepping in. This was my first time in HOB. I was not disappointed. It was a intimate venue with a 40,000 capacity feel. The warm up group called JMSN was amazing, they definitely set the tone for what to follow. The crowd hung on Alina's every step, every word, every note. She put on one of the best performances I have witnessed. I wish I had paid for VIP package to meet her. The lighting was too notch, her band was equally phenomenal. If she comes to HOB,I will attend again

    Alina Baraz was great

by KhalilG on 9/29/18House of Blues Cleveland presented by Cricket Wireless - Cleveland

First time seeing Alina Baraz in concert and she was great. Her and her band sounded amazing and she was very interactive with the crowd. Being that she’s from Cleveland, it was nice to be able to see her here instead of elsewhere. After her set was over, the crowd asked for an encore and she came and sang a few more songs much to the delight of those who didn’t leave because they thought she was done for the night. Hope to see more of her in the future.

    Alina Barazzzzz

by PunkinWilliams on 9/19/18Theatre of Living Arts - Philadelphia

I’m a huge fan of hers but the one thing i will Say was that it was hard to get good pictures and videos bc the lighting was so terrible. The spotlight was on the crowd and not her so it was just beaming in our faces.

    Best. Night. Of. My. Life

by Anelissa on 9/15/18Culture Room - Ft Lauderdale

Been a fan for 4 years now and finally got to see my inspiration. She truly has a beautiful soul that shows fans how down-to-earth she is. A dream come true basically. The vibes during the concert are uncomparable. I went alone and met other people who went alone too and now we friends. Cant wait til the next meet&greet! Overall, if you love all of her songs or even just a few, or just think shes a unique individual (cuz she is) drop any dollar amount for her concerts. Thank you and Goodnight :)

Been waiting for her show for a long time, and it was well worth the wait. The stage was dimly lit with paper lamps pulsating blues and oranges while she literally drifted from stage end to stage end singing in her sultry and light voice. Alina is great and Galimatias was great as well, transitioning the setlist effortlessly.
