About

Otherness is the first album in over a decade from the group Rolling Stone declared "put Canadian post-hardcore on the map." Five guys playing aggressive rock grew to a hockey-arena headlining phenomenon while pushing and pulling between spirited guitar leads, melodic might, and emotional weight.

AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Kerrang! counted Crisis (2006) among the 50 Best Albums of the 21st Century, alongside undeniable classics from Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy. After Crisis hit No. 1 in Canada, at a stage where many bands compromise in search of greater success, Alexisonfire doubled down with even heavier riffs on album four, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Released in 2009, it became their highest-charting record in America.

The guys never sacrificed the punk soul summoned in beat-up vans and basement shows. Blending their classic sound with new and forward-thinking textures, they produced Otherness themselves. Jonah Falco of Fucked Up mixed.

As Revolver Magazine noted in 2019: "It's hard to overstate the influence Alexisonfire had in post-hardcore through the mid-2000s, their combination of singing and screaming setting the blueprint for many artists to come."

Alexisonfire has played shows at well-known venues such as The Fillmore (Detroit), Trees (Dallas), and History (Toronto).

    Speechless

by Malcolm on 7/5/22Montebello Park - St. Catharines

An absolutely incredible showing. All of the bands performed to the highest quality (I was impressed at how tight the sound quality was). I hope that they repeat this event again next summer. St. Catharines needs more of this.

    BEST band ever!

by Erin on 5/27/22House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Great experience, great venue, and most of all, GREAT BAND! hung around outside for a bit after the show and of course Dallas shows up, I love that they come out to interact with fans, it really means the world to me. I've met them the same way at a venue in Houston, and I really appreciate how true they've stayed to their fans and their music. ❤️ These guys!

    AMAZING!

by Justin on 5/26/22House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Everything about this show was great, from the opening act (Kenny Bridges of Moneen) to Alexisonfire themselves. They are an extremely fun band to see live, and honestly they’re one of the few bands that somehow manage to sound even better live than on their albums.

    The best.

by Evatatus on 5/26/22House of Blues New Orleans - New Orleans

Best band of all time. Don’t really care about house of blues & all that, although no complaints about the venue and staff either. Been waiting 15+ years to see alexisonfire, and it was hands down the best concert experience ever. Meant so much to have a chance to see them live.

    Alexisonfire at the Saddledome!!!

by IB on 2/2/20Scotiabank Saddledome - Calgary

So, I’ve seen alot of shows from Metallica to The Tragically Hip, lots of different bands in alot of different venues. That Alexisonfire show was by far the best show I’ve ever seen, bar none. I was front row on the rail and the experience on the floor was incredible. They sounded so tight, the mix was perfect, awesome setlist, the crowd was so jacked...it was an amazing show. My only regret was not seeing them in Edmonton the night before. Awesome show boys, I hope to see you at least one more time.🤘🏻 Thank you so much. theonlybandever❤️

Concert was great, Rogers Place was not

by Adam on 1/27/20Rogers Place - Edmonton

Alexisonfire was great, unfortunately they picked a venue that wasn’t. They sounded great and played a fantastic set. All of my issues are with Rogers Place. The venue moved my seats from first row in a section facing the stage to an “upgraded” seat a few sections closer to the stage but in the 14th row and in the middle of a section. I wasn’t able to pick the seat I was “upgraded” to and in my opinion it was a massive downgrade compared to the seat i purchased. After this experience, I am sure I will never purchase tickets to an event at Rogers Place again.
