Otherness is the first album in over a decade from the group Rolling Stone declared "put Canadian post-hardcore on the map." Five guys playing aggressive rock grew to a hockey-arena headlining phenomenon while pushing and pulling between spirited guitar leads, melodic might, and emotional weight.
AOF released four hugely successful studio albums, all Music Canada Platinum-certified: Alexisonfire (2002), Watch Out (2004), Crisis (2006), and Old Crows / Young Cardinals (2009). Kerrang! counted Crisis (2006) among the 50 Best Albums of the 21st Century, alongside undeniable classics from Green Day, Muse, Slipknot, My Chemical Romance, Blink-182, and Fall Out Boy. After Crisis hit No. 1 in Canada, at a stage where many bands compromise in search of greater success, Alexisonfire doubled down with even heavier riffs on album four, Old Crows/Young Cardinals. Released in 2009, it became their highest-charting record in America.
The guys never sacrificed the punk soul summoned in beat-up vans and basement shows. Blending their classic sound with new and forward-thinking textures, they produced Otherness themselves. Jonah Falco of Fucked Up mixed.
As Revolver Magazine noted in 2019: "It's hard to overstate the influence Alexisonfire had in post-hardcore through the mid-2000s, their combination of singing and screaming setting the blueprint for many artists to come."
Alexisonfire has played shows at well-known venues such as The Fillmore (Detroit), Trees (Dallas), and History (Toronto).
Not sure what the issue was, but it was so muddy sounding from under the roof, that the music just sounded like a mess. You can't tell what any single band member sounds like on their own. Might be ok if your a fan and know the songs , but for someone that just came to listen to a different band, it was incomprehensible. Sound engineers need to do a much better job if I'm ever to come back to this venue again.
Put on an incredible show, played new and old music and know how to enjoy themselves with the fans! They even paused their performance when a fan got extremely unruly, goes to show their fans safety and experience comes first. Artists aren’t made like this anymore, Alexisonfire FOREVER!!!
I’ve been waiting years to see Alexisonfire and they did no disappoint!
Got the Fast pass and it was 110% worth it! Got to the venue at 6:50pm, doors opened and 7pm and we got front row! Fall of Troy was a great opening band. Drummer was legit! Alexisonfire was incredible! They just get better with age!

I've been looking forward to seeing these guys live again for years. They definitely do not disappoint and have not lost the touch that made me a fan in the first place.
Alexisonfire never disappoints. One of the best live bands that you could see. Do not miss them when they come around!
This band is air tight. You will hear their best tracks as clean or better than their albums. Dallas is amazing live. If you’re a long time fan you’ll get to hear some tracks pre-“Crisis” at the level of refinement and quality on “Otherness.” My one gripe is the opener on this show was a classic emo bad which is a very different vibe and contrary opener to a show from Alexis that demanded the intensity and energy of a proper punk/hardcore show. Though Elliott (the opening band) was great live, they simply didn’t match the tone for the show I set out to see. Despite this, the quality of the Alexis show still over powered and set the course right.

The venue was great! Super easy entry walked right in. The ADA staff always takes care of me when I visit. They even went out of the way to help me fix me headphones that broke. Absoluelty beautiful venue. The new mobile tab for drinks is also extremly convenient! Yay for tech. Thanks a ton.
Alexisonfire is the band that introduced me to the style of music I love and enjoy to this day. They are pioneers of freedom of expression and a true product of what it means to colaborate and create. Only good vibes from everyone at the show and the music and energy was inspired and necessary. I left my heart shaped glasses (matches their logo) with one of their stage hands to gift to the band--I hope they received it :)
Was the best concert I’ve ever been too small venue but i think thats what made it so great.
Have never seen them live before but can't wait to see them again! Amazing energy, sound and Pier 17 is probably my favorite concert venue.
Alexisonfire put on an incredible show, as usual. Hope they come back to NY soon.
One of the best shows ive been to in a long time been patiently waiting for it and i was not dissapointed the energy level started from the first note and just kept on getting better cant wait to see them again
Start to finish, this show was a blast. Having only one opener and then the main was fantastic and Fall of Troy was a great act in their own rite. Alexisonfire is one of my top ten desert island bands and I was in heaven the entire time. They always put on such a good show and I was fortunate enough to see them before they "broke up". This was an awesome experience and they are just as on fire (no pun intended) as they were when they were the kids they used to be.
High energy show from start to finish, never a dull moment, drove over 400 miles to see the show and would do it again!!!!!
They put on an absolute show. It was surreal to see all the guys in person. The Fillmore is a pretty small venue so we were able to get super close. Everything from the lights, to performance was awesome. If I ever get the chance to see Alexisonfire live again, I won't hesitate. 10/10

alexisonfire is simply epic on stage !!! the vocals !!! wow they are like fine wines for sure cause everytimes a see them its keep getting better
